New Gal!

Hi there everyone! I am so happy to have found this message board. I am hopefully that this board will bring me a great deal of support along with new friends!

My name is Faith and I am 27 years old. After considering the lap band surgery for a few years, I am finally ready to commit to a lifestyle change and to go through with the procedure! I currently weigh a whopping 375 pounds which surprises most people, including my surgeon. Thankfully for me, im tall... taking out the ceiling at 6 foot.

I am getting the lap band for many different reasons, however top on the list is infertility. My husband and I have been trying to have a second child ever since out son was born over 6 years ago. I have PCOS and have done 4 cycles on clomid with 1 cycle ending in a miscarriage. I am praying that by getting the lap band, I will be able to lose the weight and become more healthy not only for me, but for my family.

Im not sure when I will be having the surgery but it shouldnt be too long from now. I completed the final task (psych evaluation) this week and everything should be ready to go to the insurance company next week. The average processing time for my insurance company is about 2 weeks. My surgeon said surgery can happen very quickly after approval. So, its looking like the end of April or early part of May if all goes well!!

I really do hope to make some friends here who totally get what I am going through. I havent made my decision to do the lap band very public and most of my family doesnt know. I honestly feel it is a personal decision, but I dont want my choice to keep it on the down low to effect the support I get! So, be my friend? :tt1:
