  1. You might as well remember it like that, you have the rest of history screwed up already.
  2. HB--In 2005 I bought a new house and needed dinning room and office furniture. I went to Ashley's, they were having a 0% sale. I bought the furniture on their credit card. 6 months later I got a notice that they were discontinuing the sale and my new rate was 23.95%, I called them because I didn't have any late payments or reason for the card to go up. They told me it was their option, this is why the law was needed the credit card companies have been tricking people like that for years. Luckily I had the cash to pay it. By the way, they could be BSing you now on why they changed it.
  3. Maybe you need to give yourself permission to maintain at your current weight for a while. I find that I only have a certain amount of mental capacity. Sometimes I have to set one thing aside while I deal with something else. "I just look like I did 70 pounds ago." Now after this statement I think your crazy! 70 POUNDS? Look the same?:frown: Seriously it is time for you to do a reality check. Here are my 2 reality checks that I use. 1) Its picture time. Find a picture of yourself before banding and then sit or stand in that same position with tight fitting clothes on and take a picture then study the differences. You will be amazed. 2) I use a mental image of dog food. You have lost the equivalent of a big 50 pound sack and a medium 20 pound sack. Now imagine taking those 2 bags of dog food and duct taping one of them to your back and one to the front, throw a big shirt over them and then tell me you look the same! The goal of this thing isn't to keep you from eating, its just to help you eat less at a time. Just keep making good food choices, let the band limit the quantity and you will do fine. I recently decided to take a break from the hard core dieting that I have been doing since I got the band. I am not at goal but I am very comfortable with my weight so 2 weeks ago I stopped "The Diet", now I still eat the same foods but I am eating 1200 calories instead of 800 or so. Guess what? I still lost 2 pounds in 12 days. Less than the 2 pounds a week that I was losing when I was on "The Diet" but it really gave me hope that this is maintainable. I would be happy if I just stayed the same! (By the way, I think any 5 pounds range is considered staying the same. ) Good luck.
  4. Your finally getting somewhere, your learning. Patty says "why aren't you fighting for your "constitutional' rights of good fortune, prosperity and happiness? If that's what general welfare means. I want good fortune! I want happiness! I want prosperity! It is my constitutional right!" You are very close, your constitutional right is "to make available" or provide the above, To provide you with the opportunity of good fortune, prosperity and happiness is your constitutional right. "If the definition of welfare means "to make available" good fortune, then the government owes me some." No (once again) the definition of provide means to "make available" the definition of welfare means the good fortune, health, happiness, prosperity, etc., of a person, group, or organization; Together they mean: to make available the good fortune, health, happiness, prosperity, etc., of a person, group, or organization "The government is not responsible to PROVIDE you with anything." The founding fathers beg to differ, in the constitution they say "Congress shall have power To... provide for the common Defense and general Welfare of the United States" Did you bother to look up the passage? Or did you just go with your assumption that you had the word right? Health care is available for all. Just go out and purchase some insurance. Are you familiar with the word "denied"? Health insurance is not available to everyone. Period. As much as you claim it to be. There, it's available for you. No its not. Or where does it say they should buy it for you? Nobody asked that you buy it for me, only that I be allowed to buy it. The government should make available to everybody the opportunity to pursue anything they desire in life. That is what they just did, they made available to everybody the opportunity to purchase (yes I said purchase, not give, purchase as in BUY) health insurance. They should do this by allowing free enterprise and by not suffocating people in business with their laws and regulations and rules and taxations. Thats funny, I own a business and I don't feel suffocated by any laws, regulations. rules or taxations. What business do you own Patty? And exactly how are laws, regulations, rules and taxations suffocating it?
  5. ice cream, oh horror! Your ruined forever! What are you going to do now? OK back to reality, it takes 3500 calories to gain a pound, you ate ice cream one time, lets say 500 calories. Not the best idea but if you dont repeat it on a regular basis it will be OK. Start again tomorrow. Maybe work in a couple extra walks this week and everything will be fine. You can do it once you have the band and restriction it will be easier. Hugs!
  6. After that monologue I am truly speechless.
  7. Everyone has given you great advice on your doctor, I am going to try and help you on your eating. Here is what I do. BTW, what about those fill centers? Since you live in a big town maybe you could use one? (I don't know about them but there is a thread, I just haven't read it. ) 1) I eat only 1 measuring cup of food at a time. (Sorry but this is going to be graphic) That means if I chewed up everything on my plate and spit in in a 1 cup measuring cup that cup would be full. No more than that at one time. (This is where the will power until you have restriction comes into play.) 2) I journal everything I eat, I use lose it on iphone but a lot of people use daily plate on the Internet. This helps you realize how many calories you are getting. When I was hard dieting I tried to stay around 1000 net. So calories ate - exercise = net. 3) I eat Breakfast 250 cal, snack 100 cal, lunch 250 cal, snack 100 cal, dinner 250cal. so for example: Coffee--7am Breakfast--9:00 1 egg, 1 bacon, 1 cheese stick Snack--10:30 EAS carbAdvantage Protein shake (if needed) Lunch--12:30 4 oz flounder (weight) and veggie (1/2 cup) snack --3:30 Greek yogurt (always needed!) Dinner-- 6:00 4 oz catfish, veggie (1/2 cup), mashed potato (1/4 cup). If I am measuring meat I use the scales (4 oz max), for carbs I use the measuring cup and for veggies I determine how much room I have left to reach the 1 cup maximum. I try and get at least 60 g of protein, 1000 cal or under, and the rest works itself out. I hope this helps, feel free to PM me if you have questions.
  8. Patty if you will go back and refer to my post, I didn't reference the preamble I referenced SECTION VIII which is in article 1. And the word is PROVIDE, look it up. definition for provide--1. to make available; furnish: to provide employees with various benefits. definition for welfare--the good fortune, health, happiness, prosperity, etc., of a person, group, or organization; well-being: to look after a child's welfare; the physical or moral welfare of society. So the quote of "provide for ...general Welfare of the United States;" by definition means: "to make available the good fortune, health, happiness, prosperity, etc., of a person, group, or organization" This is what HC reform does it makes available (provides) health care to people who were denied.
  9. "premote the general welfare" define welfare--–noun 1. the good fortune, health, happiness, prosperity, etc., of a person, group, or organization; well-being: to look after a child's welfare; the physical or moral welfare of society.
  10. AT&T was down today because Verizon got the iphone, not because of a NON-CASH charge due to healthcare reform.
  11. Common defense and general welfare = regulation, yes
  12. Ha.Ha. By the way, I have always been king shit (my car dealership is called Car King, too)
  13. Section 8 The Congress shall have power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States;
  14. Since you don't have to pay out of pocket, I would go at least the floro would answer your questions.
  15. I have read that burning fat releases estrogen into your body, I wonder if that could be giving you some swelling?
  16. I gained weight on mushies, once I started getting fills I started losing. Mushies suck, high carbs and salt usually. Don't worry, once you start on real food it will even out.
  17. About 2 weeks after I had the surgery, I was so scared that this was going to be a failed diet attempt, a $10,000 one! But once I started getting fills it all started working for me, I was following the Dr's orders to a "T" and really working the plan. About 2 weeks ago, I decided I am happy at the weight where I am even though I am not at my "goal" so I quit the hardcore diet. Now don't misunderstand, I am still eating the right foods but I am eating around 1200 calories a day instead of 800-900 and guess what in the last 12 days I have lost 2 pounds without even trying! Pre-band if I went 12 days without dieting I would have gained 3-5 pounds, this is how I know that I am going to be successful in the long run. It is such a relief! I finally have control over my weight, which is the part of my life that I have never felt successful in. I'm with Spartan, don't let fear keep you from experiencing this.
  18. Lets say it is not going to lower the deficit and is going to cost the same as the war, which do you prefer?
  19. Good morning everyone! Its going to be 80 and sunshine for the next 4 days in East Texas! I'm so happy I cant stand myself! We started yard work yesterday, and my husband found a baby rattlesnake, I took a picture (Its in a red coffee can) So I guess I better watch out for mom & dad! Guess what? I lost another pound! That is 45 pounds lost for a weight of (drum roll, please!) 150 pounds! 1 more and I will be normal BMI. Have a great Tuesday!
  20. Patty guess what? You can continue your health care was"forced on unwilling Americans" & "unconstitutional" theme all you want and I will continue my theme of Bush's war was "forced on unwilling Americans" & "unconstitutional" and guess what? They have about the same price tag so for my money would I rather have health care that saves lives or a war that takes them? Hum....Let me think about it.
  21. Patty says.. Only people who are invested in their business look out for their end profit or product. Like the people at Enron? People in business look out for thier own self interests, not what is best for the business. This is why we need regulation.
  22. Willow, I knew you could do it! Now how about those pic's?
