I'm sorry you are having such a hard time. Unfortunately I am the same way sometimes, I really have to be kicked in the head to make drastic changes, but then once I do, I wonder what took me so long? Why was I resisting it so much? (I hope this comparison doesn't offend you, since I don't know you I am assuming this is the same for you, but it may not be.) My practical advice is this. It sounds like your port is in a strange spot, I would find a fill Dr who uses floro. Mine does and she has never poked me more than once. Insist on numbing medicine, that way if they do have to try more than once it wont hurt. Go to the Dr. if they get your other issues under control with medicine it will help feel better and will help you lose weight. As far as the money goes, at this point you are pot committed so go ahead and go all in. I don't know where you are but in Dallas fills under floro are $200. So even if you end up needing 5 to get to a point of restriction that is only $1000. Would you give $1000 more to have your life back? Remember if the band worked without fills, it wouldn't have a port! So find a Dr, find a fill center, and get your life back. You can do it! We are here to help you, once you start getting restriction everything you know about dieting works!

Unfilled and still Vomiting!
Your Dr can give you anti nausea medicine, that will give your stomach a chance to rest and heal, it is probably just swollen. What ever it is you need to see your doctor asap if you cant keep down liquids.

I'm glad you got my joke about the name of your town. Congratulations on your date. I really found a lot of good information on this site, I find the differences between what the American and Australian doctors advice interesting.

But as the above post proves, you can not have one with out the other, as you have been claiming over and over. You have been saying that man needs faith alone but now you are saying if he has faith alone that shows his faith is not real. Which is it? ETA-- I noticed that you left out verse 26, 26As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead. Dont you want to address this one as well?

Can we please stop using the word "only"!?!
Can we please stop using the word "only" to describe our weight loss? Example, I have been banded for XX months and have "only" lost XX pounds. Almost every time I read this statement and then I count how many weeks and divide it out, it is usually in the 1-2 pound a week range. People we are not giving ourselves enough credit for what we have done! I have seen people say they "only" lost 40,50,90 pounds! I don't care how long it took! You did it, its wonderful, life changing, in fact. I don't care if you "only" lost 1 pound thats one less than you had. I hope we can start celebrating our successes and stop "only-ing" them!

What is causing this?
The tighter I am the more belching, gurgling, hiccuping, I do. Right now I am very tight and I gurgle everything I drink. Someone on this board compared it to one of those water dispensers that are in the offices with the big water bottle on top. You know how they kind of gurgle? I think its a sign of restriction.

I knew you would not be able to admit you were wrong. Patty says: You either believe all he says or none of it, but you can't believe only the part that you think makes sense to you and discard what you feel doesn't make sense. But then she discards the scriptures that I just quoted. The bible clearly says: As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead. What part of "FAITH WITHOUT DEEDS IS DEAD" is not clear to you? And again: 22You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did. And again: 17In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. It is said three times, because he meant it. You dont get to take the part you like and discard the rest. Its all or nothing.

Thanks so much for the James 2:26 quote I have looking for that!- Health Care
OK, here is a typical republican thing for you, I play cards on Tuesday afternoon with a bunch of guys, most of whom are republicans because they should be, (top 5% tax bracket) so yesterday one of them is sitting there gripping about welfare and how we should just stop all those programs, blah, blah, blah... So I asked him "Aren't most of your rent houses on Section 8?" (Rent is paid directly from HUD to him) You could have heard a pin drop.....then the laughing started. He conceded my point.- Calling all Texas Bandsters
I am from Tyler banded 10/20 lost 46!- banded, banding, bands--verb--To assemble or unite in a group
Dottie, I have to say this irritates me to no end. Doctors seem to forget that we pay them. I have never been shy about telling a Doctor, I am the customer, I pay you, that makes me the boss. I wouldn't care about "his" statistics at all. If you chose to lose 10 pounds a year for 5 years that is a success. This is your journey, this is your life, just because you hired him to implant a device in your body, I doubt you agreed to give him full control over how you use it, just so that he can have good statistics and sell more. I am going to qualify this with the statement that obviously we don't want to gain 5 pounds on a regular basis, but I really don't think that is what we are discussing here. Don't get discouraged and just get back on track. Hugs.- Health Care
How is asking them to substantiate their claims "censorship and suppression"? If you release these negative numbers to the press reporting "huge additional costs" you should be prepared to back those numbers up. You should be happy to show how these "huge additional costs" are affecting your company, unless its just a lie and now you have to say it under oath. Now you got a problem.....- Health Care
Once again you start you post with an untruth, you chop a sentence just to try and make it say something different. The quote is: “But we have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it, away from the fog of the controversy. " Pelosi Remarks at the 2010 Legislative Conference for National Association of Counties Where are the numbers to support this buyers remorse you speak of? Just another blanket statement repeated off Fox News. Who is this 60+ Association? The AARP has also criticized the 60 Plus Association as being partisan because its issues and causes mirror those of only one of the two major United States parties, the Republicans. A final criticism leveled by the AARP is that because it lists no dues-paying members and receives the majority of its contributions from the pharmaceutical industry, the group is simply a front organization for the pharmaceutical industry. (Wikipedia) So why would I be impressed by what a paid mouthpiece for the pharmaceutical industry says about the health care bill? Its going to cost them money, so they want you to not like it. It takes away their cash cow! Patty, I have a news flash for you, people will lie to make money, therefor it is necessary to think for yourself, when someone says or writes something you should think "Why would they say that?" And if the answer is because they are paid to, maybe you should disregard that statement.- Long Time...Life Continues
I hate that for you, I hope the cancer can be treated the least invasive way possible. On a lighter note, I did notice that your BMI has entered the normal range! Congratulations. I hope that last 20 just melts away for you.- New to group BMI 30 surgery in May
When I researched it I found they use the older model bands in Mexico, this was 6 months ago but that is what made my mind up to pay the extra, I paid $10,200 in Dallas. I would suggest if you can afford to go local, if all you have is $6200 go to Mexico, that is better than nothing.- Calories = Money
I have noticed a new way that I look at calories. I equate them to money. Before the band, I had a vague idea about needing to eat around 2000 calories a day to maintain my weight but I never really counted them, it was like a checkbook with an unlimited supply of money. Now when I get up in the morning I think about how I have 1200 calories in my "account". If I eat (spend) more than that my account gets overdrawn. I can make a deposit by exercising, if I choose to. Or I can just "live within my means" and choose my food wisely. Obviously the band helps tremendously in this with portion control, but I often look at something and decide it just isn't worth the "cost". Just like if I were shopping, I would never buy something without seeing how much it cost, now I would never eat something without seeing how much it "cost" in calories. So here is my food budget, 250-300 for each of my three meals, and 150-200 for my snacks. If I want to spend more, I have to work harder (exercise) and make more. So keeping a journal of my food is similar to keeping a checkbook journal for me, and equally effective.- Calories = Money
