  1. I was too tight, they took out one-tenth of a CC (.1) and I was perfect. I am a firm believer that being too tight causes 90% of the problems people have with their bands. When I am have let myself get too hungry, I drink a Protein drink and wait 10 min to eat. This takes the edge off my hunger and allows me to have the self control to eat slowly and is only an extra 110 calories.
  2. For those of you not on facebook, Betsy's husband had a heart attack last night, she requested prayers.
  3. I am 8 pounds from goal! It took 18 days to lose the last pound so I am really going to have to work to be at goal by October 20th. I think I can, I think I can, I think I can,...
  4. The sleeve is my backup plan, if I ever lose my band that is what I will do. If I had known more about it I might have even gotten it done in the first place but I was so into the reversible/adjustable aspect of the band that I didn't even consider it. I know this, I will be banded or have a sleeve, I will never go back to original condition!
  5. I know weigh in isn't until Monday, but since it took 18 days to lose this pound I am counting it today! 8 pounds to goal! Go me!
  6. Don't panic. It will be fine. Yes, you will have a different feeling when you are finished eating instead of full but its not unpleasant. And sometimes when I am enjoying something I eat till my little pouch is full and then I regret it! But I am satisfied after I eat my little meals. But like I always say "Sometimes my stomach is satisfied but my mouth is still hungry" when something tastes really good. But here is the important part, now between meals I start feeling a "need to eat" instead of being "HUNGRY!" The band has helped me so much with hunger control, (I guess I should say the band with my fills) because at first I was so hungry, too! But just hang on and do your best to wait out bandster hell and it will get better once the fills start. I also would like to recommend that once you start eating real food again you should stop drinking all juices until you go into your maintenance stage and then reintroduce it slowly, because your right, it can stop weight loss. But if you need it now to get through the liquid stage, by all means use it. Good luck and try not to worry, your doing a good job!
  7. I lose slower when I eat packaged processed foods. I cook from scratch and freeze single portions that can then be heated up. I seal them in food saver bags that can be dropped in a pot of boiling water or microwaved. Much cheaper and better for you.
  8. WOW, that might be the most important statement that I have read lately and really gives me something to think about. Thanks.
  9. "Bumping up" means bringing something to the new page. I am "bumping up" the spreadsheet to the new page so its easy for everyone to find.
  10. Christie-- I'm glad Steve is through trying to torture you, typical man. Denise-- I hope your MIL feels better soon, I'm sure this is hard on your husband on many levels. Karen & Stacie-- Here is my outlook on holidays, there is roughly one a month. If I limit my stupid eating to holidays I will be fine, its the eating stupid on non-holidays that got me in trouble. Shammah-- Maybe its time for a heart to heart with your Dr. Tell him that his program isn't working for you and see if you get a different result. Crystl-- How are you doing? Dottie-- I hope your feeling better, keep us updated about the knee. Melody-- I guess y'all have our usual Texas weather, its been raining and in the low 90's here, very strange. Its not unusual for July to be every day over 100. Bobbie-- I'm thinking about you and hoping things get better soon. I don't have much to report, I went and got some prilosec yesterday. I have been having heart burn but I have just been ignoring it but after Christie's adventure with Steve, I decided to do something about it. I feel better already. I'm sure a lot of my problems are caused by the spicy foods that I eat. I would eat Mexican food every day but my family complains if thats all we have. Have a great day everyone.

Sometimes a good reality check is in order. Sometimes I have to give myself a pep talk too. You can do it! BTW, how is your restriction level? Would it help to get a fill? Usually when I am "cheating" at my measurements it means I am hungry and need a fill. Good luck.

I think of it more as a holiday deviation. The great thing about the band is you can start back today. Didn't do well yesterday? Oh well, I will today and that is good enough for me.
  13. How much processed food are you eating? I find that I don't lose when I eat prepared food. Try eating things that are single ingredients or made from single ingredients.
  14. My friend had shingles, he complained daily of a pain in his side for almost a year. Sorry, I know its not good news but I think your pain is more shingles related than band related.
  15. We weigh in on Mondays and here is the spreadsheet thanks to Shammah!
  16. Now that you have restriction you need to work on technique. Cut your food to the size of a pencil eraser, lay down your fork between each bite, eat SLOWWWLY to give your body the chance to tell you its full and chew, chew, chew. Also if you have been drinking with your meals at this point you need to stop that as well, it will fill your pouch and cause the contents to swell giving you the too full feeling. Good luck (I still struggle with these things too!)
  17. If you haven't already please add your final weight to the 4th spreadsheet, so far as a group we are down at total of....drum roll please!.... 548.1 pounds! Way to go everyone!
  18. FYI-- Visiting her blog will increase her "hits" and give her better stats to sell advertising with. Most people who write controversial things such as this are just trying to generate traffic so they can sell advertising space. Please do not help her by increasing traffic to her site.
  19. Why don't you try walking it for a week to start and see how that goes. You can go to mapmyrun.com and map out a 5K distance and then walk it 3 times a week and see how you feel, if you feel up to it then start week 1. Good luck.
  20. Ugh! I went to run this morning and my legs felt like logs! I ran a mile and stopped to get a drink and could not convince myself to start back! So I walked home. This was the worst running day since I started 10 weeks ago. Yesterday, I did a 6 hour marathon cleaning job on my house, moved furniture, dusted everything, washed baseboards, etc. Do y'all think that could have effected my run? Oh, and I got stuck Saturday night so I was on liquids and mushies yesterday. Any ideas?:mad::thumbup::thumbup::tt2:
  21. OK here is what I have decided about this last 9 pounds. They are like bacteria. I have killed of 99.9% of them but that .1% that is left are tough as nails. They have been here the longest and they are stuck to my butt like glue! But I will get them, its just going to take extra effort, so Mr. 9 pounds here is your notice. I am coming for you. I am going to exercise you into oblivion. You don't have a chance against me. Sayonara, baby
  22. Hey Roger, We are glad your here. Let us know any questions you have we will be happy to help.
  23. Your right, you are Fabulous! Congratulations.
  24. Dottie-- So good to hear from you. I'm glad your doing well. Bobbie-- Love your positive attitude. With a great outlook like that your luck is sure to turn around soon! Well my mother in law and I canned tomatoes Sunday and then today I cleaned my whole house, it took 6 hours. I need to space this stuff out so my husband doesn't get use to it. After my trip to south Texas, where I was eating out for a couple of days, I was so sick when I got home, that I have really started thinking about processed foods. I have decided to try and eliminate as much as I can from my diet and see what happens. So I am buying my meat from a butcher shop were they process the meat there instead of buying it already cut up and boxed. I am going to can as much fresh produce as possible. And try and cook from single ingredients. We will see if it makes a difference.
  25. I was banded October 20th and I am doing great! 8 pounds to goal! Can I get a hallelujah!?!
