Last minute jitters?
I have so much more energy since I lost my weight, and as you can see by my ticker I was low BMI. I could barely walk a block when I was banded now I am doing a cross training program. This morning I did 150 sit ups, 150 push ups, 150 squats and 150 tuck jumps plus riding my bike a mile to the park and back. I do eat extra on the day before I work out so I have enough energy but "extra" is 1200 calories, which is not hard to do. Look at active.com they have some free training schedules and lots of information. I personally think you need to be a skilled athlete to get the full benefit of a trainer, I might be ready for one in 6-9 months, however, you might be ready for one now. Plus, as far as selling the diet goes, never ask a car salesman which car you should buy. Oh and tell your "friends" who don't support you to kiss off, my husband doesn't like the band but he told me "You can have surgery to have your arms removed if you want and I would still stand behind you" That is the kind of friends I need. (And I speak from experience I did tell my so called 10 year long, best friend to kiss off)

Day 6 of 27
Well life got in the way of day 6, actually my work did. I had to go to Shreveport and buy a truck and be back to open the store so we had to go early. I told myself I would workout when I got home but that didn't happen so I did it this morning instead. Here is what I was suppose to do (yesterday): As many rounds as you can do for 30 minutes: 5 push ups 5 sit ups jump rope for 2 minutes Here is what I did: I did 10 rounds of the jump rope/ push up/ sit up combos. However, I would like to state for the record that the more tired you are, the less co-ordinated you are, the harder it is to jump rope. I can not jump for 2 min without stopping its more like 30 seconds, stop and hack in a few breaths and then start back. So in recap, here is what I did, total. Rode my bike to the park where the sit up bench is 2.87 mi. Jumped rope for 20 min. 50 sit ups 50 push ups and rode home 2.87 mi. And now I have been hungry all day! But I am back down to 138 so maybe tomorrow will be 137 day!

Who's with me to loose the last 20?
Congratulations your doing wonderful! I am at 138, fighting the last 8, I started a new cross training program and I have gone tee-totaler on the wine to see if that helps. Wish me luck!

banded, banding, bands--verb--To assemble or unite in a group
I was going to suggest a partial unfill as well. It doesn't have to be all or nothing. But I am with you, if you cant eat normal stuff, then I would have some taken out too. Happy "Birth"day, Melody! (I think we should tell the Mother Happy Birthday not the kids, they didn't do anything!)

Mathematically impossible I don't have 8 pounds of boobs left. Empty socks don't weigh much. Anyone want to contribute to the "Buy Leigha new boobies fund"?

Long, but need help
My band is super sensitive I can only get .1 or .2 fill at a time now, the time before last they added .3 and I had to have .1 taken out and then I was in a good spot. The longer you wait the more they will have to take out to ease the swelling. Good luck.

Long, but need help
How much are they putting in at a time?

Anyone kind enough to share their "new diet?"
Here is an old blog I did that shows what I eat. What I eat... - LAP-BAND

WTG on the meds. I can only offer sympathy on the gain, I gained weight on mushies, I didn't start losing until I was on real food. Hang in there. Stacie-- I'm so sorry for your troubles.

OK, FINE! I GIVE UP! I ADMIT IT, the physical laws of nature work the same for me as everyone else. CRAP. I wanted to be really thin, but if I keep drinking wine but it is not going to happen. I cant lose the last 8 while pouring liquid sugar down my throat in the form of wine. Not only is it the calories but I drank wine on Saturday night and then it really messed with me during my workout Sunday morning. Double whammy! So I am saying it out loud, I am going to stop drinking 100% for 1 month and see if that helps. (Of course it is going to help, how can it not?) I frickin paid too much money not to get what I want out of this, for heavens sake I sacrificed my boobs! I have been fighting it and trying to prove I could just work harder and eat smarter and overcome the calories but guess what? I cant. OK, whinning is over.

Long time, no fill
I only have a certain amount of mental capacity, sometimes when something takes precedence I have to move something I want to the back burner and then take it back up when I can. This is what it sounds like you did, you took a break, now the break is over. Get back to the Dr and get a fill, (Remember he is your employee, you pay his salary and you don't owe him anything unless he did your band for free, which I am betting didn't happen.) It sounds like you are still about 45 pounds down. When was the last time you were 45 pounds lighter than you were 3 years previously? Celebrate you success and add to it with positive attitude. You can do it!

Another thing I lost...
My table manners have gone to hell. I swear, I don't even want to eat at the table with me. I cant take part in the conversation because by the time I am finished chewing what I wanted to say is irrelevant. Plus I chew on stuff and determine it to be too fibrous, tough, etc. and have to take it out of my mouth. Then my stomach makes weird gurgling noises and I have to burp repeatedly so I can eat my food. *Sigh*, my poor southern lady grandmother would just have a fit if she could see me now. Of course she would be happy about the weight I have lost! (It is a pretty good trade, I just feel sorry for those I have to eat with)

Haven't had a period in 4 months.. Help!
I read that weigh loss releases estrogen, maybe you could search that on the internet and find something about it. I cant remember where I read it and don't have any facts to support my idea but that would be where I would start looking.

Day 5 of 27
Yesterday I did day 5, I didn't get up as early as I should have so I didn't get to the park until around 8 am and it was already 85 degrees. But it was an unusually easy workout. Here is what I was suppose to do: Run/Walk with a purpose for 30 minutes, with 5 push ups every 5 minutes. Here is what I did: Rode my bike to the park .97 mi. 6.23 min. Ran the 5 min with 5 push ups 5 times and then walked back to where my bike was 3.11 miles, 49.24 min. Then rode my bike home a different way 1.6 mi. for a total workout time of 1:08. It was a fairly easy workout and I didn't spend the day hungry like I have been after these workouts. I didn't go to bed at 8:30 like I had been, either. Tomorrow is Day 6, I am suppose to jump rope for 2 min, do 10 push ups & 10 sit ups and repeat for 30 min. I am nervous about that.

Feeling discouraged
When I was first banded I was not journaling my food, I told my husband "But I am doing everything right!" and he said "um, no your not". Once I started journaling, weighing and measuring my food, I was able to make small adjustments that really made a big difference.

That's me...a chick with a PLAN!!
Boy, I do love a good plan!

Labor Day Challenge
I am up a pound but everyone is assuring me it is a result of muscle trauma causing water retention in my muscles because of my new cross training program, so I am not changing my ticker or adding it to the spreadsheet. :bolt: (If it is still here next week I will)

Couch to 5k.....come join me!!
I have started a cross training program. Its nine weeks also. I did day 5 of 27 today. I have been blogging about it. Today it consisted of running for 5 min. then stop and do 5 push ups and then run again for 30 min.. I told my husband it was harder than just running because every time you stop you have to convince yourself to start again. :bolt: Tuesday I have to jump rope for 2 min and then do 10 sit ups & 10 push ups and then back to jumping rope and repeat as many times as you can for 30 min. I'm not convinced I can jump rope for 2 solid min. we will see....

Please tell me this is not normal!!!
I had very little pain, I had surgery on Tuesday and went back to work on Thursday. I had surgery in Dallas at 8:30 am and started the ride home (a 2 hour drive) at 11:30. It wasn't really a big deal.

Anne-- Glad to hear from you, sometimes when I am funky I don't post for a few days too. But feel free to join us when you feel like it. Now we only need to hear from Dottie. (When you feel like it) Karen -- If you are able to eat solids, stick with it and let the fill settle in. If you get to where you can only hold down liquids or are relying on sliders, time for an unfil. If you are getting at least 800 calories and 60 g of protein, I think you are OK.

Question for those who are doing intense exercise
I have started a intense cross training program. It is 3 days a week. My Body Bugg says I burn around 450 calories when I do it, my pulse is between 160 and 180 during the workout. Before, when I was just walking on the treadmill and just starting to run I was eating 800 calories a day and losing 2 pounds a week. Then I upped it to 1200 a day the day before I ran. But, with this workout, I am eating 1200 the day before and then I am starving for the rest of the day after I work out (at 7am), I usually end up eating about 1400 calories the day I work out, (all good choices other than the occasional glass of wine). So that means my week is 1 day- 800 calories, 3 days - 1200 and 3 days 1400. I have gained 2 pounds since I started, not Water weight, not 2 pounds all at once but a true 1-3 oz a day gain. Now the traditional accepted maximum muscle gain for women is .25 pounds a week so lets average up and say .5 of that 2 pounds is muscle. That leaves 1.5 pounds of fat regain. My question is this: This is a 9 week program, I am on week 2, as the weeks progress will the added muscle start to overcome the added weight? Should I cut back on calories on the days I work out and just be hungry? (I feel an actual physical need to eat on those days as well as going to bed at 8pm because I am so worn out from the work.) The workout is effective, I can see a change in my arms definition and I can tell a difference in my strength and endurance but it feels counter productive of what I am trying to accomplish if I am gaining fat as well.

Nothing to do with Band, but need INPUT desparately
You do not have the right to control what your Mother does with her life. The only control you have is over yourself and your children. Your choice really boils down to this: Is the free childcare worth risking a dog bite for? If it is, take them over there, if its not, find somewhere else for your children to stay. I give this advice from experience, my Mother chooses to live in a situation that is not safe for my child, so he does not go over there. If she wants to see him she is welcome to come over to our house.

Lovin-- Get out the camera today and take some before pics. You will be so happy you did, plus when you get down and feel like your not losing you can use them to compare and they will make you feel better. I think after you get to a good place with fills they usually last for a few months at least. I am self pay too, and mine are $200 each from here on out so I'm sure I wont be getting one for a while! Karen-- That was not meant to be a slap, more like a shake? I went to the bank yesterday and a girl that I have known for 15 years was transfered from the branch where I use to live 30 miles away to this one that I use now. So she hasn't seen me for a year or so, when I walked in she looked up at me and said in a perfect "your a stranger" voice, "Can I help you?" She had no idea who I was until I spoke to her. And its not she just knew me from the bank, she worked at my flower shop and babysat my son when he was little!

Excited but nervous!
My husband thinks it is stupid as well. However, this is my body and my life and I will do what is best for me whether he like it or not. I mean for gods sake he stands in a boat for hours throwing a hook in the water to catch a fish and then throws the fish back! So once again, that is what he likes and he is entitled to do it, I don't have to like it just because he does.
