  1. Lisa: I haven't actually developed "stage fright" yet, but I can see that it definitely could happen! I have had several problems just like you mentioned when we were at dinner with friends. Although today it happened at noon with just my DH and me at lunch. I brought home practically my entire meal (minus 2 small bites). I was so unhappy that I went out and bought some ice cream to placate myself. How destructive is that!!! Now I know I'm going to wind up weighing more tomorrow when I get on the scales to report my loss or gain for the challenge. And I imagine there is some swelling in the area of my band because it feels sore.

I have to admit that I just don't have the whole issue of being friends with my band and being happy that it's here for me. I would say that 80% of the time I use it and love it. The other 20% I'm still a bit at odds with it. But I can say this: I am 100% happy that I got it. So far, the situation isn't perfect but it is way, way better than before the band! I haven't continued to lose the way I would have liked, but I haven't gained back the weight I lost either.

To those out there who are revolted by the thought that a bandster would go buy ice cream after a bad incident, I gotta tell you that a few months ago I would have been grossed out too. I know some of you have perfect records and fantastic results and I hope that it stays that way for you. But for those of us who still have struggles off and on, please show some compassion. :kiss You know we don't want to screw this up, we are fighting to make it work, but we're human and we have lots of mind hunger that we have to work on. :phanvan

I can definitely understand your need/want to have ice cream after a bad incident. Been there, done that. Trying hard to break that cycle.

    BE STRONG!

  2. Thanks everyone who posted, but I need everyone who agreed to be in the challenge to post! I'm leaving for Vegas in the morning. I'll try and get the totals while I'm there, if not it will be on Friday. Keep up the good work everyone. LIndaN, 10K? I'm impressed!

Thanks Kareyquilts! Yes, the 10K. I've got so much energy now. Thought I would do something to really show it.

Just saw the doc and don't have to go back for 2 months now. He is very pleased. :whoo:

  3. Kareyquilts,

Please add me to the challenge. Starting 209; last week no loss; today down 1.5 lbs.:clap2:

Think I may be finally getting out of that plateau. Been going to curves for 3 months now and really working toward the 10K at the Marine Corps Marathon in DC on 28 October.

    Keep me motivated.:cheer2:

  4. Count me in... Been a rough summer...I am starting at 209. Started Curves 2 months ago and haven't really lost weight...but did lose 3 inches. Still trying to get below 200.

I really want to be 165!!!!!

:whoo:I am getting conditioned to run/walk the 10K on 28 October at the Marine Corps Marathon in DC. Would love to be down 15 pounds by then.

    Keep me motivated:help:.

  5. I'm back!!!

    Please update my status. +1/0/+4/0/+1/-.5

I gained some back because I started curves 3-4 times a week in addition to walking 3 times a week. Don't feel any larger, maybe firmer.

I also registered to run (Maybe walk) the 10K at the Marine Corps Marathon in October.

    Wish me luck.

Sorry I'm late. Down 2 this week. Saw the Doc on Tuesday. Has me scheduled for an ultra sound. I have been having this painful ache, on and off, in the middle of my back. He wants to check the gall bladder and pancreas. Couldn't get an appt until 22 May.

  10. I was away at a course this week and picked up a couple pounds, but the

good news is that I went shopping while there and the clothes at Lane Bryant are almost too big! I am in size 14W, which I haven't seen in years. Who can tell me the difference between 14W and regular 14?

  11. I went to get a fill yesterday. Odd thing, they thought I only had 1.5cc and when they drained to refill there was 2.1cc in the band. They added .3cc. Hope this helps. Has anyone had horrible pain, swelling, and bruising after a fill. I think it hurts worse than the surgery itself did. I can barely bend over. I am also really gaggy. I don't have any trouble keeping Soup or liquids down though. If anyone can offer any advise I would appreciate it. Thanks.

I also have brusing when I leave from a fill. The bruises last anywhere up to 2 weeks. Sometimes it's a little sore for a while too. I am at 3 weeks after my last fill and am doing much better. Obviously it has loosened up quite a bit. I was PBing almost everytime I ate normal food. I really should have gone back and had some taken out or ate soft food for those 2 weeks, but I'll learn for next time. I really have to chew and eat SLOWLY now, but am very comfortable with my fill now.

Weighed in a couple of minutes ago, praying to finally break that 40 pounds mark and have lost 42 pounds!!!!! My daughter was making fun of me because I was crying and doing this goofy dance all over the kitchen for 20 minutes. Been trying to break that 40 pound mark for over a month now. They just don't understand that part.

Hope I can hold that weight loss til next Monday.

(Ticker is wrong, will fix soon)

  12. I too had no weight loss this week. All my fault. Haven't been exercising.

I normally just walk 1.5 miles outside, but the temp has been below freezing all day long and just can't do it. I need to just find something to

do inside. I really hate to exercise.:help:

  13. Yes, Tami, please put your ticker back on. Gives me something to strive for.

I had my last fill 2 1/2 weeks ago and was feeling VERY tight. I think it has finally loosened up a little. Haven't PBd in a few days. Able to actually eat food and not just liquids. Don't think I want it that tight again. He put 2cc in. That was a big jump from 1.7cc the time before.

We'll see how it goes for the next 3 weeks when I am due to go back and see the doctor. Sometimes I get frustrated it is only a 1 pound a week, but then the doc says he is very pleased and I feel better knowing I lost instead of gained. I'm glad to be on this thread too. I feel like we are all

going thru some of the same things together at the same time.

I also am going thru a period of Hair loss. But I don't have much to lose.

My hair is thin and fine to start with. But I have been trying to push the Proteins.< /p>

    Keep up the good work!!!!:)
