  1. Oh Billiejo...wish I would have seen this sooner, I would have wished you luck!!!!! PLEASE let me know how it went!!!!!!!!! I wont get to talk to the surgeon until April or May, which means surgery wont be till June possibly July. What a way to spend summer!!! Oh well, I will make up for it NEXT summer!!!!!!!

  2. Hi Billiejolupo... I am in PA. But I am going to Geisinger in Danville for mine. I haven't gone to any groups yet, except the nutrition class at the hospital. I have to get my arse in gear tho, because I am slacking big time. I think I fell into a 'gung-ho' pattern at first, but now, eh, it's back to my old routines. Until yesterday, that is!! PMS week is AWFUL for me...I get sooo hungry for ANYTHING. Do you have any problems like that? I might post something on here about it...see what help I might get!

  3. Hi Billiejo... it's all scary when you think about it. As humans we are prone to being creatures of rountine and comfort. We have set ourselves into a comfort zone that we feel safe in. Change is never easy, but must be done for our health is at stake! You all will do great!!!! And coming here does help immensely!!!! Thanks for adding me as friends!

  4. Well, not for a few months yet. I have to go through the pre-op diet for 6 months, psych eval, nutrition eval, etc. before they let me see the surgeon. So, since I started in November, I would have to say maybe by May or June. I hope no later than that though. I wanna get started!!! :D

  5. Hiya FatCat... am I terrified? Absolutely!! I'm not self-pay, but I am still scared to death that I wont be able to do it even after the surgery. But, I am past the point of no return, because I am even more terrified of what WILL happen should I not do it. I have 2 young kids...and if I don't do it, I will die. But, I have faith that with the 'training' I am getting pre-op (for about 6 months) that I will learn enough to do what I need to do. It's all about lifestyle change, and the band is ONLY a tool necessary to help. It's not going to cure my weight problem, but will give me something to help cure it myself. Support groups are awesome.. and from what I see here... these guys are too!! Talk with your doc and get all the info you can on it...knowledge always brings up our confidence! :)
