Are You Going To Tell Anyone About Your Surgery???
I truly believe this is definately your choice and what best suits your situation. I was very open about my procedure and I felt that for me I needed to be open about it, because it would make me more accountable for making sure I succeded as to not be seen as a failure, but that was my choice. I also work for Allergan the maker of the band, so I am proud of that as well.

Tightness In Chest While Eating
I agree with Jean...your band should not hurt a slight unfill now can make the difference. If weeks from now you feel like you don't have enough restriction, then you can always go back! That is the good part of it!

Restriction question
I'm having the same issue...I can barely eat and when I do it's really uncomfortable. I have a hard time fulfilling my Water intake as well. I have no energy probably from the lack of food and I'm starting to have a sickly look only after a week. I have 15lbs to goal, so my doctor decided to give me one more fill. He gave me a .5cc, but it was too much. I went last friday and he pulled out .2cc's, but still even having shakes is a bit tough. I have scheduled my unfill appt on March 2 and I'm waiting until then because that is when he will be able to do the fill and view me under x-ray to make sure and see the liquid is flowing to my stomach. This is a tool to help with portion control, not restrict you from eating completely. Good luck to everyone!

unfill??
Sounds like you may need an unfill. I would call your dr's office and ask. Good luck.

How to Stay Motiviated
I have some of those peeps too, but you just have to pep talk yourself and remind you that having those ideas or behaviors is what got you were you were at. So we just have to get up and do it to get to your goal. No one else will benefit from it, but you! So I just say try to encourage them and if not get up and do it yourself. Good luck!

Wishes I'd never done this....
it's definately a lot of work and it may take several fills or unfills until you get your sweet spot. The point is not to give up. Good luck on your journey!

Toughest dilemma in my life...

Been banded since August
Well really sit and think what your Dr told you...Only you know the truth behind how hard you have been trying. Have you been eating too much? Do you have enough restriction? Have you been eating too many carbs? Are you drinking with meals? Are you eating enough protein? Exercise? Do you count your calories? I know it's different for everyone, but do ask yourself these questions and see if that is where you find your issue. I really can't tell you exactly what may be going wrong, but maybe a consult with the nutritionist again may help you...I have lost 92lbs in 11 months and love my band....I have followed everything to the "T" and thank God, I have had no complications.....good luck!
