  1. My date was September 6th. So far so good. Go for follow up on the 13th. No issues so far, Soup, soup, Protein Shakes, Water and did I say soup? 😊 Previous 2x lap band (revision done 3 yrs after original surgery). Originally lost about 80 lbs only for about 45 lbs to come back over last 2 years due to band and esophagus issues. Excited to have this opportunity and looking forward to my progress.

  2. Hello everyone. I am worried. I was banded on June 28. It's been three weeks. I lost 11 pounds during my pre op 5 day liquid diet and 6 pounds since surgery ( post op liquid diet). needless to say' date=' ALL of my weight loss has been due to liquids! I am walking 2.5 miles every day on the treadmill ( for an hour). My concern is that the scale is not moving! I am still on mushy food, but I know that I'm doing well following portion size. I am worried that my doctor will fill me on Monday, July 22 and that it will be too tight. I'm so confused, because I feel that considering what I used to eat to what I'm eating now, my weight should be decreasing. Maybe I'm worried because I have been reading no weight loss horror stories in this forum.[/quote']

I was banded 6/27 and have lost12 lbs, so I understand! This time is dedicated for healing. I'm learning its too soon to look for the weightloss. I will get my fill on the 24th and soon we'll both see the fruits of our labor. Hang in there and lets keep in touch! :-)

  3. Was the band causing sinus issues? If yes' date=' how? I'm very interested to know.[/quote']

I've always had sinus problems so I don't believe the band caused the issues, but it really didn't help either. Once my band was at a decent fill level, the sinus drainage had a hard time getting through the band. Eating and drinking became a nightmare. Constant vomiting, coughing etc then next thing you know, the hiatial hernia appeared.

  4. Sorry to hear that. Hope the band works for you as well this time around. Have you seen an ear' date=' nose, and throat specialist to get those allergies under control? I think that would greatly help. Good luck.[/quote']

Yep! Sinuses are under control now. I also was given a bigger band to help combat any sinus problems. Thanks for the support!

  5. This is my second time being banded and the 2nd time I still haven't lost but a couple of pounds during post op. I had a hiatial hernia and band replacement. Even after doing liquids/mushies the 1st two weeks,no real weightloss. I know this period is for healing but I'm so discouraged right now. The 1st time banded, I only lost 30 lbs over a 2.5 year period because of my sinus drainage issues and always having to take Fluid out the band. Really need support this time around. My 1st fill is the 24th. Hopefully this journey will be different. Would love to be 15-20 lbs lighter by my birthday in 3 weeks...calling on you fellow Bandsters for support :-)

  6. I know I know doc. said liquids & mushy foods but I've had pizza already burgers' date=' fries but of course chew the hell out of my food & I eat way way less sometimes. My follow up is July 23 then if all goes well my first fill July 31. No getting stuck yet, no vomiting hopefully my band hasn't slipped...& I am losing weight slowly & yes I know I could loose more if I ate right.[/quote']

Post op is certainly a struggle for most of us. Your honesty is refreshing and human. Hang in there!

  7. Today is day 2 post op of my band replacement and hiatial hernia repair. I was originally banded October 2010 but due to excessive vomiting and "tight" issues I decided to do a "do-over" based on dr recommendations. I lost 30 lbs the 1st go round. Hoping to accomplish 70 lbs this time!

I was released from hospital today after my upper GI shows all went well. I'm a little sore but not hurting to bad. Definitely need to see progress this time around. My 1st time I had a lot of issues which made me think I had a slip early on and wasn't accurately diagnosed. I trust my Doctor and have confidence in him just wonder if this should have been repaired some time ago.

Making a commitment to myself right now to eat better and stick to liquids as long as possible. Definitely looking for support from those who had to do a replacement surgery.
