I am new to this but what about counting Proteins, it worked for me before surgery..it is worth a shot. Good luck, sometimes we hit a plateau and then all of a sudden we start to lose again. I wish you well.

Happy New Year to all, made it through Christmas and have a dr's appt. on Wed., they will determine when my first adjustment will be. At little nervous for that but I will do this...this is for me!!

Merry Christmas to you, and congrats on your loss, many lost pounds to you in 2010!!

If you're having any difficulties call your surgeon's office. Some people have pain while others have none at all, but if you are concerned call.

I am the same as many of the others, broths, tea, Water anything clear the first 10 days. I am now on to puree, and that is going pretty well. I am not hungry and I still haven't had a fill..or first adjustment yet.

Cream of wheat, refreied Beans topped with a little cheese and fat free sour cream. Hummus, cottage cheese with a teaspoon of sugar free jelly. Greek yougurt..mashed sweet potatoes to name a few.

Mine were very similar, Clear Liquids for 11 days, mushie for another 2-3 weeks, then on to the rest of my life food. It is strict but there is a reason for it, don't want to stretch the pouch. Good luck!!

I had my surgery Dec. 1, 2009 and am on stage 2 of the eating regiment (puree). Can I drink sugar free cocoa? Also, any suggestions for puree meals? Thanks!

The key to the gas pains is walking, do it as often as you can, even if it is just around the house. Time does make a world of difference, I feel really good. I hope we can share some helpful hints and find some here, these people seem very willing to help. Help and knowing you're not alone is a blessing. Keep me posted...Good luck!!!

I know how anxious you are, after I got my date it was or seemed an eternity before the surgery came. But is comes, and I will be thinking of you...a little prayer that all goes well and you will heal quickly. I didn't mention this previously but they also repaired a hernia for me so all things considered I think I am doing fairly well. Good Luck!! Keep me posted ...

Thank you, it is just so nice to know I am not alone. The idea for the broth is a good one and yes, I will try it. I have my appointment on Friday and I feel confident so here goes....thank you for you encouraging words.

New here and just had my surgery, Dec 1, 2009. I am doing well so far, a couple of tender spots at the entry point but good otherwise. I am so ready for something other than Clear Liquids, mostly because I am freezing. The only fluids I have that are hot are tea and broth...although I must say I am not hungry, just bored with the choices. Glad that there is an over 50 group and hope I can gain some valuable knowledge here.

thanks for the welcome and sorry about the delay in writing back. I am still a little sore at the entry spot, the other sites have closed quite nicely. I am ready for my appointment with my surgeon on Friday, right now Puree sounds yummy.
I think I am doing well trying to keep up with the fluids is a full time job but I am determined to make it all work.

I am a newbie to your site, I am post surgery (Dec. 1,2009) and am just beginning my journey. I am feeling pretty well, a couple of tender spots (also had a hernia repaired) but nothing I can't handle. So I begin and with this tool may I do all that I have dreamed of and more. Thanks for having me and inspiring me to take the leap of faith.
How do you get un-stuck?

pineapple juice, it works, I had a problem with something being stuck. What an awful feeling, but I had some pineapple juice and it went away. Something to do with the acids in the juice help to unstick what was once stuck. Try it!!
