thank you I just was wondering if something was wrong. If others have had larger fills then I am secure in the fact everything is fine it just will take a little longer. Again thank you for responding. I know everyone is different but hadnt heard anyone past 8.5 in 11 band and was wondering if something was wrong. Whew I feel better

how much in your 11cc band before you hit sweet spot. I am at 8.5 and not there yet just wondering about others.

Thank you sandi I did make a print out of the article. It does help. I appreciate your help. What you say does make since. I quess I just feel down sometimes because I am not yet at that sweet spot where smaller portions satisfy. I believe that the fear of failure is from past failures. I really believe this will work it just seems like it is taking so long to get to that point where me and my band CAN work together. I have kept my positive thinking up until now. Just having those neg. thoughts. Thank you so much for the help.

I began at 254 and lost 18 lbs pre surgery and right after. Then it became 1-2 lbs a month. Dr. said I should be able to lose 80 lbs in the 1st year. I have thought I was being patient but after almost 5 months and 4 fills I thought I would be at my sweet spot since my band is 11cc. Like I said it isnt full yet so there is still hope. I just struggle because I still eat alot.

Hello everyone I am new to the 60's thread. I turned 60 in July and was banded april 30,2010. Have had 4 fills not hit sweet spot yet. I am at 8.5 in an 11cc band. I am getting disappointed that maybe this wont work for me either. I only lost 1 lb this last month. urgggg But I am hanging in there. It hasnt reached 11cc yet so there is still hope but I am almost 5 months out and lost 32 total. Still hanging in there and love this website

I did that as well- my doctor just wanted me to check on my temp regurlarly and called in an antibiotic as well. It stopped after about a week each day kept being less and less. I had surgery April 30 and things have been fine.

I have an 11cc band. My first fill was yesterday and I got 4cc. I am on liquids for 4 days and and mush for 4 days. So far so good

sometimes I feel that the spouse doesnt like the idea that u are doing something good for yourself. It is their insecurities.

I was banded April 30. I am down 20 lbs. I get my first fill monday. Cant wait. I am hungry all the time.

My dietician said absolutely no milkshakes or ice cream. It melts in the pouch and then becomes as liquids and does not have a lasting fullness feeling. Also she told us that they do not want us to feel starved. Have more protein.

I had my pre-op testing yesterday april 27,2010. Went pretty smooth. I am so excited about getting this finally done. I will be having final meal tonight with my family. We are having sauerkraut burgers and chips. MMMMMM. Then tomorrow (thursday) I start my liquid diet and do bowel prep.

My surgeon requires overnight with a barium swallow test 24 hrs after surgery if all goes well then I can go home. I will be banded 4/30

Hello everyone, I am excited that I finally have a surgery date. I started this journey almost a year ago. Had to do the six months with doctor diet then several tests. Then it took 3 months for insurance approval. Now less than 2 weeks to surgery. I am in Kentucky and will be going to Norton Hospital in Louisville. I am a little nervous about the pre op diet I have been hearing about. But I am ready.

Whooo Hooo went to consultation on the 8th should get call from surgeon in 2 weeks they said. I am on my way. hope to have surgery in January.

Got call today for consultation. My 6 month dr. diet done, psyc dr. done, seminar done, paper work done. Getting excited about consultation. On my way?????:sad:
