Do you count your calories? You should have a goal for calories a day and counting them will help motivate you to stick to your lifestyle change. You'd be surprised how much food you could eat and still stick to your calorie limit. Just a suggestion.

I recently have been banded and am still weary about asking out women, and also get rejected a lot. I still think that it's important to focus on youself first and a partner will come sometime. Once you're fully healthy the guy will probably be asking you out and you'll be able to tell him that you're too busy that day. Good luck in your weight loss and search for love.

I'm a week post op and went to have a "first breakfast" through the program I used. They basically started me on my mult-vitamin and gave me some muscle milk. My wounds are healing good too. I've still had some pain and it was pretty bad this morning due to some bad sleep last night, but I'm feeling better now. Turns out I've already lost 42 pounds in three weeks. Bad thing is that I weighed what I do now the first time I went to see the doctor about 16 months ago when I was first considering the band. At least its coming back off though. Good luck to all of the people that are still planning on being banded this August.

I am getting nervous. My doctor said they turned in all my paperwork over a week and a half ago and said it would only take a few days to a week max to get approval. Well when I called the insurance today they informed me they just got the file last friday and it may take another week or so to be approved... My problem is my pre op appt with the surgeon is on Wednesday and my surgery is set for the 26th. When I spoke with my my doctors office they informed me not to worry and I should have no problems getting approved and we are keeping the date. I am starting my week pre op diet tomorrow (few days early) and the stress is starting to add up. The date is coming up super fast and I have no idea if I will be approved or even how much I have to pay out of pocket yet.. no one will tell me anything until I get the approval! Am I just making a big deal out of nothing? My insurance took a while to come through too, but if you know your insurance covers it and you have done the requirements to be qualified I wouldn't worry about too much. Even if the date does change at least you are still getting banded. So don't stress and try to relax before the big day. Let us know what happens.

Still recovering in the hospital. They are keeping me overnight. Still in some pain and I can't drink much. I'm on my hourly walk right now.

I had in tomorrow at 5:30 in the AM. My surgery is at 7:30. Not sure how much weight I lost in the pre-op diet, I hope it is enough. Good luck to others getting banded tomorrow.

Getting banded on Thursday the 12th. Kinda nervous. I have been keeping good on my diet. I've been using an app for my droid that tracks my Calories.

My current surgery date is for August 12th. I'm kinda nervouse and am having cold feet, but I will go through with it. I'm on a very low calorie diet right now, but I actually get to eat stuff and do not have to do a liquid diet. I just can't eat any grains, sugary stuff, etc. I did eat a salad for dinner with cottage cheese dressing. I mixed cottage cheese with some Ranch dressing powder and it actually made a good dressing. Does anyone else have any meal ideas for the liver shrinking diet?
Need Lap Band Buddy / Mentor Would be nice to talk to someone...
