    Yeaaaaa!!!!!

That's great congratulation! I know getting that call feels SO good. I just got mine on monday, I let out a WOOHOO over the phone lol the lady laughed at me, but that's ok. I'm gettin' my surgery! LOL
  3. I go in on 12/21. Excited and ready to go! Started my pre-op diet, have the final pre-op appointment on the 8th and then it's just a countdown to the big day. I've been going from profile to profile looking for people with a similar build, trying to gauge what my results may look like. If I do as well as you I'll be at goal in no time :)

    The best friend challenge

My best friend is super excited for me now that my surgery date is getting near. She's been with me through the I think I want it.. no wait I don't.. no wait I do's.. I've been through over the last 2 years we've been friends. When I finally decided to do this, she was shocked but super supportive. She began looking into it herself but due to insurance, it's not the right time for her. Last night we were talking and we came up with the idea to do a banded vs. unbanded challenge. She's going to eat the same foods and amounts as me or try to, and we're going to document the differences between the two. I think this will be interesting for the two of us, and for everyone considering the banding. We started today and will do this process for 1 year. Today is a ease into day. I don't technically start my pre-op diet til Monday, but I decided to get used to it by easing my way into. So for example today I had 2 protein shakes, but I also had cucumbers and crackers w/ ranch. The cucumbers not so bad, the crackers and ranch.. .well I think you already know lol. I also had soda which oddly enough I rarely drink, but because I "know" I'm not going to be able to, I suddenly just HAD to have it. lol Other than that it's been a normal day, the 2nd shake was MUCH better. Everything tastes better out of a wine or martini glass lol (that's really funny considering I don't drink lol) But I made a protein shake with a lil' yogurt, skim milk, ice and strawberries and it was almost on the verge of delicious. After the first one though it was like heaven to my mouth lol. In other news.. some people said my previous post was almost "pornographic" but obviously they don't understand that that's the point, I wanted to show how UNHEALTHY my relationship with food is/was. This is what I do... if my writing makes you think, laugh or hiss it's all intentional. Chances are that's the EXACT reaction I was going for. I know my writing style and personality isn't for everyone.. and that's why they invents the X at the top of the screen lol :sleep2: Just kidding, I have  for everyone!

    New life starts NOW.

@Karin - I've never heard of a vitamix.. Now I have something to go google (YAY!) I love to cook so I have all kinds of ideas for healthy food, and I have the luxury of having a close friend/client who's a pro/celebrity trainer and has all kinds of great recipes as well. I'll be posting them as I try them out.. I know they're healthy, but at this point I'm not sure how lapband friendly they are.
  6. Checked your profile out.. Your pics are beautiful (pre & post) and you can REALLY see the difference. Inspiring! :)

*Note to self* (and fellow dec. bandsters) I have found that putting my shake in a wine glass makes all the difference LMAO ok so maybe it's just in my head and the fact I added yogurt but either way, shake number two was MUCH better lol  That will be all - carry on.

I had my first shake today.. I'm using "Designer Whey" the vanilla was awful, I don't know what they meant by "Great Taste" - to WHO!?!?! lol Even with the vanilla extract, strawberries and ice added in it was still on the not so good tasting side. My bodybuilder friend told me to try dessert delights, same powder but in flavors like banana pudding, Carrot Cake, etc.. we'll see how it goes, I'm going to try making the shake with yogurt and ice to see if that improves it at all. She's given be all types of recipes for these shakes but now it's actually time to drink them.. ick.. lol I can do it, I can do it!

    New life starts NOW.

My goal is to lose 115lbs. Maybe more, I'll see when I reach the first goal. I've successfully lost over 130lbs before and managed to keep most of it off (less the 60 I gained back). When I reached that goal I always said, eh I could lose another 50-80lbs.. Well now feeling like I'm pretty much back where I started (I'm not but it feels like it) I'm going hardcore and it all starts today. My surgery is scheduled for 12/21, I am scheduled to start my pre-op diet on Monday. Me being gung-ho decided to get an extra week in as a way of "Easing" myself into it. Yesterday I went and got my provisions, Protein mix, skim milk, frozen strawberries, yogurt, salad, chicken, etc....Then in a celebration of my last meal I also added some ice cream to the cart, not one but two different pints. Pint 1.) Ben & Jerry's Chocolate Fudge Brownie. Pint 2.) Bryer's cookies & cream. Now if I could have found my all time favorite Oatmeal Cookie from B&J I would have bought two of those and gave myself foodgasms all night but alas I'll suffice with those. I checked out and started on my way home, and some how, some how my car took a right instead of a left and I ended up in the drive- thru, just one last time. Oh golden arches how I'll miss you and our cheapy tawdry affair. You were always there for me when I needed to come by, early, late, doesn't matter you're always ready and willing to put out just the way I like it. Hot, Fast and cheap, In and out with a lil' sweetness at the end. Mmm speaking of sweetness let me get two large sweet teas one with no ice... What???That way it doesn't look like it's all for me. Mcdouble no pickles, they just ruin your pure beefy taste, french fries oh how I love it when your hot golden salted crispy goodness enters my mouth again and again. I must admit, I get a lil' sad when you're done, something about you makes me just want to keep you in my mouth enjoying your salty goodness. Mmmm what is that delightful sweet nectar I taste? The sweet tea I wash you down with. That's right, I say as it feels like you just hit my sweet spot. Basking in the afterglow, I lay back and let it course through me like a heroin addict who just shot up. This isn't good for me, I know I know Ronald I've said it before, but I mean it this time. No more, we have to break it off. You have no power over me. Don't look at me like that, I mean it.. I have to go. No I won't be back.. I won't and don't call me either. Breaking up is hard to do, but they say they best way to get over a man is to get under another one. Or in this case two. Ben & Jerry fulfilling my two man chocolatey threesome fantasy yet again. Yes take me, take me..fill me OMG YES!!!! YES YES YES!!!! Wait what do you mean you're done? we just started.. it was just getting good. The two of you could never keep up with me anyways, get out! Frustrated I wait a lil' bit, but I"m still turned on. Turned on like some sort of crazed eating machine, I set my sights on Bryers, "come here my sweet" mmmm, um oh.. um yeah.. eh, just stop. This isn't working out for us, you're not as good as I thought you would be. Just go... A couple of hours past and that familar remorseful feeling comes over me.. WHY did I do that??? I know better.. Ugh.. Now I need a shower or something. A couple more hours go by, the feeling doesn't pass. I comptemplate if I'm REALLY ready to change, to stop doing things that I KNOW are not good for me, and stop living to eat and start eating to live. Hmmm cucumbers and ranch sound really good right about now. Oh and maybe just these crackers. But today, Today my friends is a new day! I will fast, be celibate and stay true to my new found relationship, even if protein shakes tastes like eggs and @ss. I've heard there's some good ones, I'll have to explore those flavors, for now I'm on these "Designer Whey" protein shakes, even with the strawberries and the vanilla extra and ice and 2 oz of skim milk added in, it still tastes awful. But I'm commited I have a goal, I've started early. I would like to drop 30lbs before the end of the year. Which should be easy for me, as the bulk of that will be water weight. So here I am, stripped down, standing before you as my own "Before" Picture.. which I'll be taking later to commerate the start of my new life. My best life is ahead of me, and I'm going after what's mine. Life solutions, not resolutions. AMEN!
  11. Ask for a rapid resolution specialist, get their email, and personal fax, get a copy of the paperwork from your dr's office provide them with the RRS's info and then send it yourself. BCBS have people that this is their job to handle escalated issues. Usually can be done within 72 hours. There's still time, don't give up yet. You can also call the Prior-Auth department and ask them what the hold up is, get their info as well and send it to them directly. This way they have it coming at them from all angles. You, your doc and the RRS
  12. Have any of you had your surgery without general anesthesia? I've never been put under, but because of family history they're concerned about putting me under fully, and are discussing my being awake but drugged during the surgery. Have any of you had your surgery done this way?

Woohoo Kimmi! We're goin' in on the same day! I started my pre-op diet today just to get used to it and in case I mess up or have any cravings.. Tryin' to psych myself up I guess.. Well correction, I bought all the stuff for my pre-op diet today and then I went through the drive thru on last time lol... My Pre-op visit in the 8th... I'm super excited for this life change. Our best life is ahead of us! Life solutions not resolutions!

    Business

Awww thank you so much, you made my day.
  15. I went through that after my waiting period and visits were up. All I needed to do was get psych clearance.. I got the letter and I sat on it for a week, meditating on what I should do, was I doing the right thing. I got my answer and I there's no going back for me.
  16. I think it's perfectly normal to experience some anxiety before the surgery. This is a life altering change and major surgery. But go into it prayed up and positive, your best life is ahead of you!

You can try calling BCBS directly and ask them to transfer your approval to another doctor. Or call the True Results corporate office (they're in Dallas I believe) and have them get to it. I'm using True Results Scottsdale here in AZ and I had some hiccups that were quickly resolved. I had to call and stay on them, checking every couple on days on the process. They tried to add a month or two to my waiting time and told me my visits HAD to be exactly 30-31 days apart or I had to start all over again.. needless to say that didn't happen. If your office is anything like mine, the office staff aren't exactly the brightest bulbs in the bunch, but if you push on them in a nice but stern way, they'll get it done.
