  1. Yea for you! That is wonderful! You will be in the 170's in now time!
  2. I think it's worth a phone call for sure!
  3. Thanks everyone! I have an appointment today to have it done. I'm not getting much so I'm guessing it will still look natural.
  4. I've noticed that my stomach make a lot of noise too. It's a different sound that before surgery and it happens all the time!
  5. Now that my face is thinner, I'm noticing some wrinkles. Anyone tried botox? I'm thinking about it. I don't want to look frozen, but I would like to zap some wrinkles. I'm still pretty young (37) so I don't think it will look un-natural. Thoughts??
  6. Congrats! That is fantastic! I love it when the scale drops into another number! It feels GREAT!
  7. I have tried and tried to "adopt" the feeling of loving myself the way I am. I just can't do it! I have an overweight friend that truly does not think twice about it. Goes to the pool in her swim suit and has zero anxiety. I wish I could do that. I'm always worried about what I look like and how others "see" me. It's crazy, I know. I'm really not that important and people don't think of me the way I do! LOL!
  8. Yes, we are home of the KU Jayhawks. It's a beautiful place to live. Small town but not too small! We love it. I'm 4 days post fill and I feel great. I really think this could be my sweet spot. Is that possible with being only 8 weeks from surgery?
  9. I'm in Lawrence, KS.......Rock Chalk Jayhawk!
  10. LongBay - I thought that too but come to find out, I had 3cc's in my band after surgery and I had no idea... SoExcited - Yea for you! I'm so happy for you. Being under 200 has to feel great!
  11. I have them. Pros - I'm taller in them! They are super comfortable. I stand strighter so my posture is better. Cons - I don't think they will really make me look better. Overall, I still love them!
  12. I drink just as normal as I did before. I don't have to take sips. I have 7cc in my band and I think I'm at my sweet spot already! :-)
  13. Hi Susan! I don't take laxitives, but I have needed to up my fiber in take to make things move a bit! I found that Crystal Light makes a Rasberry Peach flavor that has added fiber. It tastes good, it's not thick at all, and it's only 10 calories with 3g of fiber. I drink 1 or 2 a day.
  14. If I could eat popcorn, I would pop a bowl and watch this play out........so entertaining! LOL! I got the band to use as a tool for helping me. I know others have reasons for getting it that differ from mine. I do drink on special days but hey, I own 2 liquor stores! This is a life time commitment and it's a life style change. For me, it's healthy to make choices that I can live with. I can't live with never having a glass of wine. I can't live with being overweight any longer. I think it's called balance and I'm willing to bet the farm that I can have both. For those of you who can go with out any sweets, and any booze, good for you! I'm not here to judge who will get to goal and who won't. I wish you all the best.
  15. I took too big of a bite at breakfast on Sunday and I felt it stick. It felt like I couldnt breath and I got up to go to the bathroom just sure that it would have to come up. As soon as I started walking, it went down and did not come back up! It ended up being no big deal.
  16. excited - I just noticed that you are over 1/2 way to goal! Great job! I hope I can join you soon!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. Silly - I went to Dr. Malley. I'm 8 weeks out from surgery. Excited - That's what I thought too but before I went in today, I had no idea that I had that much Fluid and I thought I needed a fill because I was able to eat more than I want. But I lost 4 pounds in 2 weeks so I guess it's working pretty well. No PBing, No heartburn.....Maybe I'm already at my sweet spot???
  18. Hi all! I've been away from the site for a while! I wanted to let you know that I had my 2nd fill and I have 7cc in my 10cc band! I hope this will be the final fill but we will see! I have lost 22 pounds so far and I'm 8 weeks post op.
  19. I get my first fill on January 11 so I can't help there but try not to be discouraged. Remember this is a slow process and you will feel restriction soon. Just do your best and remember the long term goal instead of the short term. You will lose weight!
  20. I'm 16 days post op and I feel completely normal and have for about a week now. Just hold on, it won't be much longer. If you feel sick to your stomach, call your dr. and ask for some anti-nausea suppositories. I took Promethegan and it helped so much. I never felt sick.
  21. I'm not feeling much restriction so I'm trying to really watch myself. It's going to be hard over the next two weeks with Christmas, my Birthday, and New Years. I'm hopeful that I can hold on to my current weight! I get my first fill January 11th.
  22. Gas pain can cause the shoulder and chest pains too. Maybe you have a gas bubble stuck in your band. My Dr says that Mylanta/gas works better than the gas strips. You might give that a try. Hope it gets better soon. And congrats on the baby!
  23. You are exactly right. Good and bad Dr.'s everywhere. I'm so glad you found one you liked and could trust and that was affordable for you. How are you doing with your recovery. I'm feeling great. Problem is I feel zero restriction! I get my first fill January 11th.
  24. Welcome Tom! I wish you well on your journey. I'm glad you picked a Dr. In most cases when you are self pay, it goes pretty quick. I financed my surgery with CareCredit. It had a reasonable rate (9% i think). The terms are for 5 years but I should be able to pay it off this year I hope. I'm almost 2 weeks post op and feel great. I'm glad I did this!
