  4. How Awesome! Thanks for Sharing! Rebecca
  5. Froogie you are awesome!!! I really like how you explained what you do if you have a gain - that's going to help me out in the future!! thanks! Nean - dang girl!!! 10x day!?!?!? That's a bit much for me I think I would get loopy. How do manage if you have a gain? Rebecca
  6. Donna1959 - thanks for your response. I've always been cool with the scale but, I think I was just having a down day. I'm going to continue weighing in daily and just make peace with the scales again. dman - Congrats on your new journey. Yes, I do know where you're coming from! Rebecca
  7. It's happening to me as well!!! First off my period was almost a month late but the entire time before it came I was extremely emotional among other PMS symptoms. BTW, I was banded on 5/19/10. This may not be encouraging, but my theory, for myself is that I was always like this (except the late period). Now, I don't hide my feelings (depressed, irritated, etc.) with overeating and over-consumption of fats, sugars, salts, and other JUNK! Rebecca
  8. Thanks Denise! Very Insightful, and congrats on your success! Rebecca
  9. How often do you weigh yourself (daily, weekly, monthly, never) and why? P.S. I've been weighing myself everyday since I started my journey. It hasn't bothered me one bit until today because it said I went up by two pounds. I'm still working on my whole "perfection" issues. Just curious what the rest of you folks do...
  10. My NP at Fill Centers USA told me that the cabin pressure will affect your band. Her advice was to not eat 1 hour before flight, during flight, or 1 hour after your flight. You can drink, but don't eat.
  11. Banded 5/19/2010 High Protein, Low Carb/Low Fat food choices 3x per week (3.5 miles on the treadmill or at the park) 68 pounds lost since 5/1/10 (pre-op diet) I love my results!
  12. Try drinking warm liquids first.
  13. Hey! I myself am a recovering food addict. I have binged for years, sometimes I would purge, or go on starvation diets. My whole life revolved around food and negative thoughts. I see a therapist and have done so for almost 4 years now. I've also done hypnosis, and as cliche as it may sound to some, I found Jesus. I am not even 2 months post-op and I've lost 66 pounds. I did have a lot of obsessive food thoughts during the first 3 weeks of recovery. I would watch the food network think about food all day long, but I never ate any. I spoke with my therapist about that and she suggested that I find another hobby - she is right. Thankfully, all of those obsessive thoughts have left me, and with them the desires. It's not a bad idea to seek the help of a therapist or maybe O.A.. I pray everyday that my old patterns not return. I hope that you find relief from yours! God Bless, Rebecca
  14. I was told to stop drinking 30 minutes before a meal and wait an hour after. Believe me, it's difficult sometimes. But, I follow the rules to a tee and I've lost 66 pounds since May 1st, 2010!!! BTW - try sucking on an ice cube if you get thirsty!
  15. Hey there - I was banded on 5/19. My period after surgery was 3 weeks late! I've read on other forums that this is common in the beginning. My guess is that our bodies have been going thru shock from extreme dieting (liquids) and surgery. Rebecca
  16. Yahoo!!!!!!!!!! Congrats to you!!! Best of Luck on your journey!

  18. I was banded on May 19th by Dr. Ortiz in TJ, Mexico. SInce I started by preop diet (5/1/10) I've lost 36.8 pounds. I'm still on my post-op liquid diet (3 weeks perscribed), thank God I only have one more week left of that. I can't wait for all the weight to come off and be in a maintance mode! I won't have my first fill until 7/1/10 so currently I'm doing this on my own and feel great about it!!! Good Luck to everyone else out there!!!

I'm still on liquids phase (3-week perscribed) and I'm just starting to feel like myself again. I'm down to 309 (-34.8 lbs)! I'm really loving these changes! I'll have to see what happens after my first fill which isn't until 7/1/10...
