  1. I had a unfill today Urrgh! After 5 days of barely keeping even water down I went in for an appointment to see my doctor. They took the fluid out before I had the upper GI done. I was fine then out of the blue I couldn't keep anything down. I've been banded for a year and my weight loss has been phenomenal. I just had a 16 lb weight loss then to have a complete unfill I think is so unfair! Of course I have ravaging hunger and absolutely no restriction, the radiologist said everything looked fine that I probably had something lodged above my band the last thing I had was baked tilapia, won't eat that again. I'm waiting for my PA to call me so I can get in for a fill in the morning. I'm scared because I believed I was at my "sweet spot" that I'm going to gain weight while waiting to get back to my "sweet spot" what am I to do!?
  2. Hi, I had my surgery on April 29, 2010. To date I have had 3 fills and lost 42lbs. I think I could have lost more but I don't exercise as often as I should, I haven't experienced any hairloss  and I hope I don't, I do try to get all my protein in, I do turkey bacon and egg whites or egg beaters for breakfast and I make sure I take 2 multivitamins, I take the childrens which make it not so bad. Good Luck to all of my fellow April Bandsters!
  3. I'm with you Rocketray, I had my 1st fill 2cc 2 weeks ago, I felt restriction for approximately 3 days, now I feel nothing, the water went down fine with me when they tested it, I'm stuck at a stand still and I go for a 2nd fill in 2 and a half weeks, boy O boy do I need it. Good Luck to everyone, I'm also wondering is this what generally happens with the 1st fill?
  4. I hiccup also, although I haven't had a fill, only 4 weeks postop, but have noticed I get the hiccups more frequently, just randomly, when I'm not eating or drinking. Good Luck guys, just glad to know I'm not the only one!
  5. Hi all I hope all is well with everyone, I was banded on April 26,2010, I have lost 28lbs so far & I don't get a fill until June 9. I exercise but not everyday, but I only had a week of the preop diet because they scheduled my surgery & called me the week before, I lost 11 pounds on the preop, 7 pounds two weeks after the surgery & 11 pounds the two weeks since I'm only 4 weeks postoperative. My hardest problem has been trying not to drink & eat, I am still drinking the protein shakes 1-2 times a day & normally a chicken breast or baked burger no bread for dinner, I feel like I'm not doing enough to lose weight, but I guess it's okay for now. I had one stuck episode from nit chewing & eating something that I probably shouldn't have eaten "bread" I'm proud of you guys let's keep up the journey! Preop 294lbs postoperative 266lbs
  6. I was banded on the 26th Monday aunt Flo made a visit during the surgery, the proceeded & I tried to handle her when I was conscious!
  7. I had my surgery yesterday I'm in the hospital because my insurance required me to stay overnight. Remarkably I feel fine, just a little sore, I ran in to my primary care physician and he stated that I looked good to just have had surgery! I've been walking, sitting up, I even had to pick something up off the floor that I dropped, so those of you that haven't had it, don't be afraid like I was, you will be fine! My throat is a little sore, but nothing major, Good Luck to everyone!
  8. I was given only a week & a half to start my pre-op diet. I'm on day 8 yes I have cheated the first 3 days were murder, after that not so much so, it gets easier, but it is very hard my surgery date is 4/29/10. I'm on the Atkins shakes. The only thing was when I cheated I had tummy aches all night unless I ate chicken. So I just stopped cheating!
  9. I'm having the same problem, I think I'm eating more now that I have begun this process, I'm trying to slow down, you can do it.
