  1. Hey Donna, I don't come on here much either...but thanks! You look soooo good in your picture :) I posted some before/durings in the Twenties forum.

  2. Makes sense to me. My fill is January 23rd, and I have my plane tickets all purchased. I want to do my first couple fills with Dr. Aceves...I'm not sure where my life is going to take me after those, because I may move down to southern California!

  3. Thanks! How are you doing? Going to visit Dr. Aceves anytime soon?

  4. Merry Christmas to you too! I'm down to 222 :) 27 pounds gone! How exciting!!!

  5. I haven't had too much burping, but when I do it is incredibly loud and long (unless I shut my mouth, but I can feel it and it's weird!) I didn't really burp much before surgery, but now I do.

When you do go to meat, start soft and mushy. Do you like sushi? I had some salmon sashimi the other night and it was fantastic...and my $8 plate lasted me for three meals, so not too bad in the grand scheme of things, lol.

Crab cakes sound amazing...thanks for reminding me! I think they'd classify as a mushy, especially if I chewed a lot. I had three tablespoons of hummus this morning for breakfast and it was delicious. My roommate is middle eastern and her grandma made it for us to eat...full of protein and one of my favorite foods.

Good job on your 11 pounds! I'm at 27 now. Yesterday I was at 27.5, so I hate it when I gain weight... especially since I ate barely anything yesterday because I was sick (three slices of sashimi with a bit of soy sauce and half of a small smoothie).

  6. The gas finally passed about three or four days ago! It's so great not to have that pain... I thought it would never leave, but it does! No worries, it wil leave you soon too.

I'm on full liquids now, but I've been slowly making them mushier and mushier so I can move into mushies more easily. I was able to eat some cantelope too, so that was nice to chew something. I also tried one of my roommate's sweet potato fries last night (a tiny one about an inch long) and I spent a good minute or two chewing it. It was very tasty! I'm mostly sticking to thick liquids (protein shakes made with milk and yogurt, cream soups), but water between my "meals". I also have tea in the afternoons if I feel like it, but I've never been really big on tea so I usually don't.

How much weight have you lost? I'm at 20.5 pounds as of this morning! Soooo exciting.

I hope your day is going well!

  7. Hey! Actually I spell my name Jennie but jenibeni looked better so I picked that :)

  8. Haha, the gas just annoys me to no end. My left shoulder has been in pretty much constant pain for three days, nothing helps... heating pad, walking around, rubbing it... I hate gas pains!!! But I was finally able to add protein shakes and V8 juice into my diet (moving from clear to thin liquids) so I feel less hungry, so that's good.

Have you been thinking of what mushies you want to eat? I'm pretty lame... I've been watching food network (I never watched it before) to get ideas for what looks like it will taste delicious blended. So far I'm most excited for a blended enchilada on Christmas at my aunt's house!

  9. Liquids are going...eh. I'm not going to lie, my "lower" stomach feels hungry. It rumbles at me. I didn't get enough liquids in the first three days because I just couldn't, but it's getting easier to sip sip sip. My urine was dark, but I'm trying to fix that. So, my advice to you is to continually take tiny sips of your water/juice/etc.

How long do you have to be on liquids? I'm on clear for one more day, thin liquids for 5 days after than, then full liquids for 10 days after that before I can move on to mushies.

  10. Hey good luck tomorrow! I read that you're having your band put in on Tuesday. It's going to be crazy at first, you'll feel pain, but then it will go away slowly. I'm on Day 4 and the pain is definitely minimal, but still kind of annoying. Anyways I just wanted to wish you best of luck and a speedy recovery!

  11. Hey Ya-Ya! How are you feeling? Day 4 is here... down 9 pounds total. I gained some weight on Thanksgiving and didn't weigh myself before surgery, so I'm not quite sure how much was from surgery and how much was from pre-op. I estimate I was about 246 going into surgery, and I was at 240.5 this morning. Yay!!! How are you feeling? I still have port pain and gas pain in my left/right shoulders.

  12. I've been trying to get some exercise in, but it's no guarantees sadly. I ate what I wanted to last weekend, for my "last meal" type stuff. Now it's on to protein shakes and chicken, haha.

My store didn't have Greek yogurt, but I got the low fat one and it tasted just fine to me. I'll look into getting Greek post-op though!

  13. Hey Donna! Yes, I'm very excited. 11 days is so soon! I began my high protein, low fat diet today. So far I'm one protein shake, a LF yogurt, and 1/3rd of a protein bar in. I'm going to the grocery store during lunch to pick up a protein bar stock to keep at work, as well as some more yogurts. How did your pre-op diet go?
