    Second fill date coming soon...

I went for my fill yesterday and my Dr was happy with me.:sneaky: It was all in my head! I had lost 4kg (9lb) since my first fill 5 weeks ago. I have lost 14kg (30lb) since my Sept 24 surgery date. I wasn't on a pre-op diet.

    Second fill date coming soon...

I am going to have my second fill today. I am a bit nervous that my Dr will be disappointed in me as I am losing so slowly. Initially I lost quite a bit but since my first fill 5 weeks ago I have only lost about 2.5 kilos. My brand new scales weigh differently every time I get on them and they are driving me crazy! I think I have lost nearly 14 kilos (30lbs).

    Perth people, where are you?

Thanks so much for the encouragement! One of the hardest things for me is that a friend of mine has had very quick results and I can't help but compare myself to her.
  5. I was just wondering how often you weigh yourself? Do you do it at home or at the Dr or dietician? I have a habit of jumping on the scales and I don't think it's a good thing!
  6. Good luck! It seems like only yesterday that I went in for mine! I was so excited, - not nervous at all!

    Freaking Out A Little...HELP!

Sometimes I think it is better not to search the internet! I read things all the time about lap-bands and some information is useful and informative and some is not. Just because you see it of hear it does not make it true. I do know that some people experience some pain but I do not think that pain is used as a tool in lap-banding! You may experience hunger until you have an effective fill. I have had one fill so far and I do feel hungry. I can also eat more than I want to be eating. I am hoping for better restriction after my next fill. The band doesn't lose the weight, - you have to work with it, - and sometimes that means patience, - something I need more of! Good Luck! Don't freak out!

    10 months on

That is awesome Sunshine23! I can only hope for a result like that! I am having trouble being patient at the moment! I would love to hear more about how you have lost so much weight!

    Channel 7 - Sunday Program

I was so disappointed with Mike Munro and the way he spoke to Prof O'Brien. I thought it was plain rude. Of course surgeons make money, - why would they do it if they didn't? Their so-called 'experts' were ill informed and judgemental. What in the hell is wrong with 'before and after' pictures? I am not usually an angry person but that report had me livid!

    Perth people, where are you?

Thanks schmack! I think I am feeling a little less hungry and I have lost 900g in the last week so I am not doing too badly. I am looking forward to my appointment on December 2. My Dr won't give me another fill until then. He is very much in favour of "slow and steady" with the fills. He thinks that is more effective.

    People are just Rude!

I don't even want to hear it from family and friends let alone people who mean nothing to me! Keep your chin up, - they are the ones with the problem!

    How fast?

I am so glad that I read this post! You guys are great at giving encouraging advice!
  15. I had 2 weeks of liquids, - soups, meal replacement shakes, milk drinks. Then 3 weeks of soft foods, - the dietician suggested lots of soft foods, - not just mushies. After my first fill at 5 weeks I began eating normal foods.

How hard is not drinking with meals

I am 6 weeks post-op and I found it easy. Just one of the new rules to live by.

    Second fill date coming soon...

I too am not feeling resticted and I am having to eat more to keep myself from complete misery! It is so frustratiing! I hope I get some satisfaction from my second fill on December 2. It is great to hear that others have found their sweet spot! I hope it happens for me soon!

    Your First Fill Date!!!

I am so glad I read you post! Now I have hope for my second fill next month! I have been struggling with hunger and feeling full.
  19. I just need some reassurance! I am not feeling any difference! I had my first fill 9 days ago and I am still feeling very little restriction. I have not had any pain or discomfort but I haven't really tested it either. Will I have more restriction after my next fill on Dec 2? I am worried that I am not going to lose weight! Lou x

First fill of 5ml and no real change?

I was getting a bit worried about waiting until Dec 2 for my fill so I rand my Drs office. I found out that what I am experiencing is normal and I have to be patient. I am glad I didn't have to drink the barium! Lou x

    Your First Fill Date!!!

Hi September bandsters! I am new to this forum. I am in Australia so forgive me if I am unfamiliar with the way things are done where you are! I had my first fill 9 days ago, - exactly 5 weeks after surgery. I walked in, the Dr asked me how I was, weighed me, told me to get on the bed, stuck the needle in and then I was out of his office in about 3 minutes! I had 5ml put in but I am really not feeling any more restriction than before. I hope my next fill on December 2 will be a bit more noticeable! I am eating normal foods, but being careful to eat slowly and chew carefully. I have not had any pain or vomitting. I have lost 10 kilos since my op on Sept 24. Sorry I need a kg to lb calculator! Lou x

    Perth people, where are you?

Hi Bandits! My name is Lou and I was banded on September 24 by Dr Senerath Werapitiya in Bunbury. I am very happy to have my band but I am in need of support and advice. I had my first fill of 5ml a week and a half ago and I am not really feeling any more restriction than before. I am feeling frustrated! I have lost 10 kilos so far. Lou x
