  1. Do this! It's the absolute best thing that I've ever done for myself. I was a diabetic. 3 months after surgery, I was off off all meds.

I can feel my port.....it's not noticeable since it's on my tummy. When I feel it, I think of it lovingly as my friend. Some docs place the port on the chest. I'd hate that..the scar shows.

Yes, I have saggy skin in places but I feel so much better that it doesn't matter. I know there will be more but I can have that taken care of as soon as I get all the weight off and the surgery paid for. ( I am a self-pay...$19,000.00 and worth every penny). You're young, your skin will gain back it's elasticity better than some of ours.

I don't miss all those bad things that I used to love to eat at all. Your tastes will change. Or at least mine did. I no longer even think about bread, potatoes or softdrinks. I still love cheescake and indulge once in a great while. I can't eat steak and Pasta any longer but so what? I feel GREAT!!!

I just had a deli slice of turkey and a deli slice of swiss cheese with mustard and I'm full!!!! Just took the turkey and put the chesses inside with a little mustard, rolled it up and VOILA!!! Lunch! Easy, cheap, filling and good for you. Going out is difficult at first, but you learn what to order.

As for having babies, you'll be fine. You can have your doc remove Fluid from the band for pregnancy and have it refilled after the baby gets here. You'll have less complications during pregnancy if you lose the weight now before you get pregnant.

Go for it!!!!! You won't regret it.

    Loving my band!!

  2. Hi again Carlene,

I DO feel very seductive. I'm not sure what's actually going on with me. My DH is concerned because my sex drive is so high! :girl_hug: :target: He tells me that I've GOT to cool it. I ilke hot-tubs too. I have one and get in it daily. DH won't though. He thinks it's yucky with body oils coming off of you. I tell him that's what the chemicals are for.

I also have a nice jacuzzi tub in my bath and he won't get in it either. Strange man!

Anyhow...back to the young guy. If I were 20 years younger and unmarried.....it'd be no problem. I'd be after him in a nano second. He wouldn't know what hit him.

As for him being 20...and you saying he's still a boy....I tend to disagree somewhat...My husband was 19 when we maried and very much a man. :):P:)

But...belive me..I won't be messing with this young guy...no way I'd risk everything I have.

  3. Hi Carlene,

I know it's a recipe for disaster. That's why I wrote in this forum. I HAD to tell someone my feelings. I'm not looking for advice. I know to put a damper on it. This is just something I feel that I'm going thru due to feeling so good now and being more attractive again.

About the age....I never said I was looking for a long-time romance or anything of the sort. I know how much older I am than him. I just feel an attraction not that I would EVER act on it!

No, I'm not a grandmother yet..but would love to be anytime.

I'm not offended by anything said...just feel that I needed an outlet for my feelings not advice.

  4. OMG!!! I've been married 30 years. I love my husband dearly and would never wat hiim hurt but......I'm 47 and extremely attracted to a relatively new friend of my son. He's 20. I know! He's young!!!!

He feels the attraction too..I can tell by his actions but I know he doesn't know what to think of his feelings. I don't know what to think of mine either. My God! This is The Graduate all over again. He's around all the time and I know if anything happened and was found out that it would devastate my child and my husband. I almost feel like a pervert about all this, then I think I'm just a sexually healthy woman with a new body!

I'm tormented by this!! I think of him constantly...I mean constantly. he just left my home a few minutes ago and I was so sad to see him leave. I love being in his presence. My God, he's my son's age!!!!

    Mrs. Robinson I am.

I feel great after losing 75 pounds and I must say I look great too. he didn't know me at my high weight.

  5. Hi, I had just a little salad at Ruby's on Sat.and it came back on me. Salad doesn't usually do that to me and it was not pleasant. I waited a while and then had my crabcake. It was SOOOO good! Expensive but good.

We were there with 10 other family members. Nobody knows about my surgery except my hubby and they were all like,"Is that all you're going to eat?!" I'm like, "yeah, just not very hungry tonight." :) :) :o

  6. Hi, I too am from the south. South Ga. I LOVE grits and have no problems with them. My doc. does though...that is with me eating them. He says they're good and filling but nothing but carbs. No Protein. But I do eat them occasionally with scrambled eggs ( protein).

I like chicken thank goodness. It stays down fairly well most of the time. So do shrimp and crab. Not so with steak and porkchops. Upchuck every time! Dang!

I've found that my tastes have changed though. I now crave fish.Crab is my new fav. I had it Sat. night at Ruby Tuesdays'. The appetizer...the lump crab cake......it was just the perfect size.

Another thing that has protein and is very filling is oatmeal. I used to despise it. YUCK!!! Now I absolutely LOVE it. I was upset this morning when I got up and was out. My fav. Breakfast nowadays.

It's been almost 7 months now and each day is a new experience with my food.< /p>

  7. I've had lots but the worst I can think of right now was a doctor I had went to for a bladder tac. He did the surgery but afterwards, came out and said that it may not work because he couldn't do it correctly because of the all the fat. I was about a size 18 at the time.

But..I had the last laugh....and it's still funny today after 7 years.

At my follow-up appt., he was running around like crazy..lots and lots of patients. He didn't have much time for me. He was very hurried that day and it was just a quick visit and he was ready to go. I didn't keep him long..I couldn't......you see...he had this HUGE booger hanging out his nose into his moustache. You think i told him? Nah.....I let him go right on to his next patient. Hopefully they didn't tell him either. I still laugh about this. he was such an ahole!

  8. Turner24,

I may not belong here. I've lost 65 pounds since my badning on Oct.3, 2006. But... I lost all of that by the first of March. I got my last fill in March and it's really tight. I can hardly tolerate anything. Yesterday, I had a total of 400 calories. But I'm not losing. haven't lost a pound since that fill. Thi is really strange since I'm not keeping anything down! I'm extremely proud of my loss up until that time. But what could be goin on?!?!

  9. Hi silry,

No worries. Just take your liquids in a little at the time. Just sip on them. Liquids go right thru anyway, they don't hang around long enough to stretch your pouch.1/2 cup at the time is fine..just do a 1/2 cup if you're actually trying to drink and not sip and then in a few minutes drink another 1/2 cup. believ me..if you'd taken in too much, you'd know it. Too much will cause pain and it would possibly come back as well. If this hasn't happened...you'e fine.

  10. Hi puddin,

You might text him back and tell him what a WONDERFUL day you had ( whether you did or not) and ask him if his was good too. You could tell him that you were SO....busy when you received his text that you didn't have time to say more than "you too".This would give him a chance to further conversate if he wants.

Just FYI though...most men are small talkers so don't let his absence of conversation confuse you. My husband doesn't say much at all but he's wonderful. Then I have a friend whose man talks and texts her constantly and he's great too!

    Happy Valentine's Day!!!

    Carole

P.S. my husband e-mailed me this message today:

    Happy Valentine's Day honey!

Be mine for another 32 years!

    We were young married folks...17 & 19 and we're still young married folks at 49 & 51!

Some men are just not much for words but what they do say means so much!!

  11. Hi ,

I'm with wheetsin. I sip while I eat if needed. It's not always needed. If I'm at a rest. and there's a long wait for food, i may drink 1/2 glass Water. if not and food comes right away, I sip on it occasionally. Sometimes I need a little liquid to make some things go on down. You'll know when to and not to. Just like tonight. I had a sliver of warm caramel cake. It got stuck so i drank some cool water. Not a great idea. LOL ! The water came back in about a minute. It's not a gushing throw-up like when you're sick but a feeling of this has got to go.

The band is the very best thing I've ever done for myself and I self-paid! NO REGRETS!!!!47 pounds has already been worth the $16,000.

  12. Pddin,

I just looked at your pics and Tony looks so very sweet. Take a close look at his eyes and the smile...it's honest. He doesn't take life for granted. You can tell so much about a person from looking at their face whether you know them or not. I betcha he'll make a great husband one day!

  13. Puddin,

Don't be so hard on yourself. Don't agaonize over these guys. Just be yourself and the right one will come along. Don't try to be what they want ....or you may think they want.

Believe me when you meet the right one, you'll know it. I have a friend who's 44 and was divorced 3 years ago after 20 years of marriage. She refused to date for a year afterwards then ventured out. She went wild for a while..sowed her wild oats again. LOL!! The all of a sudden, she met Mister Right and he was right here under her nose. She didn't know him before but they both realized very early in the relationship that they were meant to be. Now they're very happily married.

So just give it some time. You're finding the real YOU right now. It'll happen. In the meantime...just have fun with your new life!!!

    carole

  14. puddin,

You look great!!! You are an inspiration to me. I was banded Oct.3, 2006 and have lost 47 pounds. I began at 295...right near your beginning weight so I see myself in your pics about a year from now!!!! Yeah!!! I can hardly wait. I've copied and pasted your most recent pics in the swimsuit to put on my desk at work for inspiration. Hope you don't mind!

    You look wonderful!

  15. Hi,

I get the golfball feeling about 3-4 times a week. I think each time it's because I'm hurrying and not chewing well enough or trying to eat bread ( like on a hamburger). It hurts like hell, I get very dizzy, lightheaded and I feel like I'm going to pass out until it goes on down. I usually stand up, drink a few sips of Water and wait it out. Sometimes, it only takes a minute or so, others it takes 4-5.

My hubby has taken to yelling at me when this happens. He says I'm eating too much. I tell him that I don't need a food police. My band will tell me when I've had too much ( I PB) ! It also tells me to slow down and chew by having hte golfballs! So he ( hubby) needs to give up his spare job that I never hired him for! :D My band was hired for this position! :)

I think it's me causing it all though. I need to slow down.

I have noticed that around the time for my monthly, I can't eat and don't even get really hungry. This is strange because most of us can eat down the house during this time.

This is also the time of the month when I lose most of my weight for the month. I can easily drop 7-8 pounds during this week and it doesn't come back.

Even with all the golfballs and Pbing... i still love my band!!
