  1. I agree with you, Keona. I have had the same problem over the last year. I had a revision in October of 2011. I am at 5cc and my surgeon is reluctant to increase as I have trouble with a tighter band. I, also, have gained, but he isn't too worried as he felt I was too thin for my age. he just wants me to control my snacking! I am trying, but it is not easy. At least, I have leveled out. Best wishes to you, I hope that you gain back your restriction. i have restriction, but not as much as before. Karen
  2. Exciting news. Hurray for and best wishes for less of you! Karen
  3. Wow, I think that your low blood pressure might have to do with your coldness. But I am not a Dr. . Drs tend not to worry about their patients with low blood pressure. I agree with Rajasanoll, make sure that you are getting enough potassium and your fluids. Congrats on your tremendous weightloss, too! Karen
  4. Yes, it does, and wait until you don't have that extra layer of you. I was cold a lot and had to dress with more layers. But, it could be so much worse! We could have been the people that got hit by Hurricane Sandy. My heart goes out to all the people who were. KEEP WARM AND SAFE EVERYONE!! And you Rebirth, you look like you bundled well. Best wishes to you, too. Karen.
  5. Yeah , tmf! That is a terrific NSV! You go Guy! Karen
  6. Congrats, you are on your way! Best wishes! Tomorrow is my 3 year bandiversary! Karen
  7. You are so right, Dee257. I can't get all those secret codes either. But, did have a PB experience lastnight, too! I had some asparagus and evidently either ate some too fast or I had a piece that didn't get well chewed. But, it came up. Then, went out about 1 1/2 later, and took a drink with me. I was in a HOA meeting, and had to leave 3 times, as the drink decided to come up! Yuck, trying to stay on liquids today. Better luck next time. Karen
  8. Bon chance! Best wishes, you CAN do it! You have familial support and a great attitude. Visit us a give us your life updates, we care! Karen
  9. Protein water, and ice pops, jello. That should be all that you are consuming immediately following surgery. Best wishes,Karen
  10. You are a great Mom!
  11. !st of all, no gulping, sips are in order, always. If your fill is significant, liquid will either get caught or sit there and drain slowly. But, also, don't eat too quickly after a fill; my own surgeon's office requires 2 days clear and 2 days full liquids after a fill. Drinking cold liquids can be a problem, but then you, also, said you are gulping it down, slow and steady! You might take longer to sip that protein drink than before. Best wishes. Karen
  12. Best wishes to you both. Try walking around a bit. If it continues, you might be doing too much, too soon! Good luck, Karen
  13. I agree with TKW, you are probably a mite to tight. How long have you been having this problem? If you already had a revision, I would not want to have another because you are too tight! Call your surgeon's office. Karen
  14. you are doing great! And 24 lbs in 2 months is nothing for the critics to complain about. Many people have misconceptions about lapband; they think its gastric bypass! By the way, I opened this because i thought you were upset by the people on here who criticize others. I am glad to find that it was not! Best wishes and keep up the great work!!!Karen
  15. Slips are usually found by your surgeon during a flouroscope. I had trouble keeping anything down, including water. But, a slip can happen anytime, and you might not even know. best wishes, see your surgeon for further advise about the phlem It can be, also, from the digestion activity. Best wishes. Karen
  16. I have used it both ways. I have used flat coke which was in the cupboard for weeks. I use only about an ounce or two. For me it pushes it down, but both my kids, who also have bands, said that it makes them pb. I, also, have found that for some reason it needs to be the regular stuff not the calorie free(?). Don't know why! What ever you use, just limit yourself to a few sipsnot a bottle or even a glass full. Best of luck, Karen
  17. If you use soda, make sure it is flat and warm. I have used coke and 7up, and ginger ale all. But, make sure they are flat, You shouldn't have a carbonation. By the way, for being stuck, coke is the best roto-rooter I have found. Best wishes, Karen
  18. My surgeon's office says the same thing; I think it is because you can't truly vomit with the band, and straining will cause a slip. Believe me, been there, done that!!! Take care, sometimes we won't get the bug, as our bodies have seen many of them and can fight them better than the kiddos! Best wishes, Karen
  19. There are a lucky few that can get restriction without a fill. Restriction, also, can be different than green zone. I, also, do not go 5-6 hours between meals, 4 is almost my max, but, if busy, I could probably forget to eat all day. Being satisfied and restriction, I think are 2 different things. For instance, I have had restriction so intense I couldn't get anything down. Green zone is being satisfied with 3-4 oz of protein, and a 1/4-1/2 cup veggies and maybe, at times, a carb. Best wishes for all to green zone satisfaction!!! Karen
  20. Dear Jerseyshoredinsneydiva, PB=productive burping, it is similar to vomiting, but it is undigested food, and it doesn't taste nasty, and it is something that can happen anytime, anywhere, and you usually can not prevent it. If anyone has a better explanation, please jump in! Take care and follow your surgeon's directive as much as possible,l that is what they are paid for!!Best wishes, Karen
  21. Not sure, but if you are worried, call your surgeon's office. I had a slip; it was not like that, but then, I guess that this could be a slip, too! Best wishes. Karen
  22. I agree, try to find local Dr to do your fills. Best wishes. Karen
