So my information is being submitted today I have Aetna, I did the 3 month multi-dis....I am really hoping for a quick response. Being that I am a pessimist I truly believe that they won't approve me so happy thoughts would be greatly appreciated. If all goes smoothly tho hopefully this will be approved first shot and I can do the surgery on 2/18

I havecompleted my 3 month multidisciplinary for Aetna,my psych, gall bladder u/s, and endoscopy are done. I called my surgeons officethis AM, she told me to follow up with her to make sure she has everything tocall Aetna. She told me she was going thrucharts, took my number and said she would call me back. As long as everythingis in order she said that approval takes about a week but from what I haveheard it’s normally only a few days. It’s so odd to think that next week Icould potentially have the date for my surgery. It seems so unreal! If everyonecould send me good thoughts so that the insurance approval will be quick andsmooth I would appreciate it! I can’t wait to be a loser

I was also a bug a boo and got ALL my appointments (except my 3 month multidisciplinary) done within 3 weeks!!! Keep calling and asking about cancellations.........drive your change!!!!!!!

Thanks for the reply! The person didn't lie to me, she up until yesterday was unaware that her PCP lied for her. Still disappointing tho! Grrrr I hate that Aetna won't talk to me about this they just direct me to the bulletin! My Dr's office said that I had to have one appt for 3 months. If not then I will just have to go once more in Feb but I guess I will figure that out in Jan once I have my 3rd Nut Appt. I don't know if they are Dr supervised but I will be going to my Physician as well......trying to cover all bases. What did you do for the exercise therapist? That is the only piece that confuses me......

Has anyone done this? What does 'supervised by exercise therapist or other qualified professional' mean? My nutritionist is writing my activity in my chart. Does that qualify or do I need to hire a trainer? I am so frustrated to find out I have to do this. I was basing my information of not needing this step on lies. The people that 'didn't have to' had PCP's that lied on thier notes and said that they did. I am so mad right now!

I think that those are normal thoughts. This is such a bog change, it's normal to have doubts. I am not even scheduled yet and more then once have contemplated why I would do this. Then I think of all the things that I could do to myself by staying so overweight. It brings things back into prespective and reassures me that I am doing the right thing for me long term.

Could you share the fast track fax number? I would like to see if they can do that, I don't think my Aetna requires the sleep study, I think it's all on the surgeon.

As the subject says, I hate it! I feel like I am doing nothing to help this along. I have completed all my appointments, had my first consult with the surgeon andall my info will be submitted to the Insurance for approval tomorrow. From what I gather Aetna approves fast so I should knowearly next week but until she gets all my info they won’t even schedule the 2ndconsult.

Welcome! I came out of lurking yesterday. I just finished all my appts and am just waiting for the surgeon to get all the reports back and the insurance approval so I can schedule my 2nd consult and surgery! I am so excited and nervous all at the same time.
