    So excited :)

Welcome! I came out of lurking yesterday. I just finished all my appts and am just waiting for the surgeon to get all the reports back and the insurance approval so I can schedule my 2nd consult and surgery! I am so excited and nervous all at the same time.

    Anyone with Aetna?

Nope I did neither, I guess the type of Aetna I have doesn't require it. I have at least a dozen people at work that have all used different surgeons and no one has had to. The surgeon said that I was all set and I should have approval this week. She has been doing them for 6 years and off the top of her head knew which types of surgeries Aetna would cover so I am assuming that she has dealt with them before.
  3. I have been reading since last Wednesday but haven't posted, I am coming out of hiding. So today I finish all my surgeons requirements for surgery. I had my appt with her last Wednesday, because of the holiday and her only being in the office on Monday and Wednesday's the paperwork should be submitted to my insurance this coming Wednesday. I plan on calling my insurance company on Thursday I am so excited and nervous all at the same time! I am hoping to get my surgery the first week of January, new year = new me! Little about me. I am almost 30 with a husband and 2 young kids. I have been overweight since having my first child 5.5 years ago and no matter what I do I can't seem to get past 20-30lbs lost and it always comes back....with friends. I can't wait to feel good in my skin again and to be able to run with the kids
  4. I am so afraid of the 2 week liquid diet as well! It's glad to read some of the suggestions people gave. Good luck I hope the rest of your pre-op times flies!!!!

    Anyone with Aetna?

I have Aetna. I don't have to do a PCP monitored weight loss with mine but my Dr did want to know about the diets I have tried. My info will be submitted on Wednesday. I saw the surgeon last Wednesday but with the Holiday there was a delay in getting the letter transcribed. Hopefully things go quick and smoothly!!!
  6. I am not sure why I am nervous. I am just sitting and listening to information tonight but it seems nerve wracking. Probably because this is the first step. Although I am super happy about this, I am nervous too! So many thoughts and emotions. Is this normal? Anyone else nervous about the seminar? Eeeek, thanks for listening!

    Nervous, seminar tonight!

Yes, my husband is going with me. He's very supportive in all this but I am not telling anyone else because I don't want to hear the negative. The Dr I am going to does both the bypass and the band. I agree with you tho, I wouldn't want to be someone's first. That's a little scary!!!!
  8. I have never heard that one before, I did hear about tanning and preporation H with saran wrap(yikes). Dry brushing sounds like a good exfoliating so I don't think it would hurt.
  9. I joined last year when I first started thinking about this but it kind of went to the way side. I'm back, I'm ready and I'm going to my seminar next week. I am so excited to get this started. I am hoping to shed 115lbs with this process. Little about me, I am a wife and a mother of 2 young kids. I work full time out of the home and play part time chauffeur to the kids. I'm hoping to get to know you all and get information and support during this process.

    Hi, I'm new-ish

Oh gosh, do I have questions? TONS!!!!!!!!! Unfortunately most of mine will have to be answered by my surgeon. Things like pre-op procedure, diet, follow-up appts, and insurance requirements. I know I qualify BMI of 41.5 and a few comorbidities but will there be any hoops. I am trying to wrap my head around all of this! I can’t wait til the seminar; I think that will at least give me a direction. It’s one of the 2 Drs in the practice that do it so I am sure they will be explaining more about their procedures. I have noticed from all the posts things vary so greatly from surgeon to surgeon. Your story is so encouraging! I can't wait for energy!!!!!
