anyone else question having te band right after surgery?
Hey skinnymom! I was banded on Oct 26. My post-op diet wasn't quite as restrictive as yours...I was starting mushies about a week after surgery. I would definitely follow your doctor's post-op diet...but creamy soups were on my liquid diet as long as I thinned them down with milk or water. I had cream of chicken (blended up or strained) and cream of celery (also blended or strained). I also like to make tomato soup with milk instead of water so you can get extra protein and it's pretty thin. Hope this helps!

any one in utah want to talk
Dawnae I can't believe you haven't weighed since your surgery! I'm way too impatient...I pretty much weigh every day, but I only count my Sunday weigh in. I'll cross my fingers for you next Tuesday! My fill went fine today...they added .2 cc so now I'm up to 1.7 cc. Of course I can't tell much of a difference since I'm still on liquids today. Mushies for tomorrow. Isn't this weather crappy?? Yuck.

anyone else question having te band right after surgery?
I think it's perfectly normal to feel like that! My energy level didn't return to normal until about a month after surgery. I had pain around my port area for about a month too. The liquid phase is the worst! I was so happy to start eating mushies. I "ate" a lot of creamy soups and blended up chili (add a little tomato juice or V8) while I was on the liquid phase to get some new tastes in. Unfortunately you are in bandster hell for a while longer until you start to eat regular food and get a fill. But we're here to help you through it!! Keep your chin up!

Getting Over The Hump
Are you on mushies or liquids? I was just starting mushies when I was about 2 weeks out like you. I ate a lot of yogurt, oatmeal, cream of wheat, refried beans/black Beans with a bit of cheese, tuna, egg salad, canned chicken, creamy Soups, mashed potatoes/sweet potatoes, and smoothies. I also have to cookbook that Sunshine2 mentioned and it has some delicious recipes. Hope this helps! Good luck...

Where is the Sweet Spot?
I was banded on October too and have had 2 fills totaling 1.5 cc in a 4 cc band. I have yet to really feel restriction. I've never been stuck on anything or had a PB. I'm going in tomorrow for another fill. I think it's really just an individual thing...

October 2006 Bandsters!
KStar I've had 2 fills and I'm not really that restricted either. I have 1.5 cc in a 4cc band...I'm going in tomorrow for another fill. I've also heard that the 10 cc band sometimes take longer to reach restriction. Keep your chin up...hopefully your second fill will help!

types of protein drinks?
My mom actually bought it for me...I think she got it at GNC?? If not, I'm sure you can find it if you google it. I've never tried adding the Any Whey to crystal light, but it has worked in everything for me except some really hot soup. It clumped up and was VERY disgusting.

3 days post op and still no poop!
It's different for everyone...I think I was 5 days post-op when I finally had a BM. You aren't really taking in anything solid so you won't get anything solid out. I didn't get back into regular BMs until I started eating solid food.
