    Best Friend

I would tell her. If it is not about jealousy or disapproval, then it is not a big deal. Your just sharing a very big event with your best friend.

    hair falling out

My hair is falling out in huge amounts. I had my surgery in January of 2010, and I am still losing hair. I take a mutivitamin, Vitamin E, and Biotin. I am an African American woman, and my hair wasn't really thick to begin with, but now you can see my scalp. It is a catch 22, because worry also makes you lose hair. When I comb my hair and see huge amounts of it in my hands and on the floor, I can't help but to worry. I finally decided to invest in a wig and a hair weave, and let my hair rest for about six months. I can honestly say though, if I had to pick between fat or bald, I would pick bald. I wouldn't take those 70 pounds back for one stitch of hair...lol.

Weigh in... how much have u lost?

Down 60 pounds with another 26 to go. Cannot seem to shake them. I eat my protein, drink my water, and exercise for 1 hour minimum 6 days a week. I eat an average orf 1500 calories daily. Anyone with any advice to get rid of the last bit of weight let me know. Thanks and congrats to you all.
  6. No, the port is not very visible, but the thinner your abdomen and stomach area is, the more pronounced it will be. Truth be told, i don't plan on walking around w/o my stomach being covered, so i am cool with it. I exercise everyday whether it is the elliptical, treadmill, or bike, and my port has never interfered with it.
  7. If you only have 50 pounds to lose, and you have lost 15 on your own, I don't think the surgey is necessarily for you. I have lost close to 70 pounds, and yes you can see and feel my port. In the end, the decision is yours, and I pray that you make the best one for you.

    anyone been ewwwed??

I get the same response especially from my mom, but I don't see it. I actually would like to lose another 26 pounds, but people got me scared to do so. I still think I look fat. We never see ourselves the same as others do. I bet if i saw you, not knowing you, I would think you looked fabulous.
  9. I was on Lexapro for three months and gained weight. I have since switched to prozac, and lost that extra weight, along with 10 more pounds. Everybodys reaction to medicine is different, and you have to find the best one for you. Sometimes it is just trial and error. Hope everything works out. Be Blessed!!!
  10. I agree with you Cheri, this person cannot be real. Someone is bored, and having a good time seeing how many responses they can get. Then again, they could just be truly, straight up crazy. Either way, I am done.

    Frustrated

I"m sorry but I had to laugh when you said I don"t stink or anything Try zigzaging your calories and see if that helps restart your weight loss.

    NSV + stupid comment

See that comment for what it was "Jealousy". She was tired of hearing everybody else around her say how good you look, and yes God knows what we need, and when we need it. Keep it up. I am sure you look amazing.

    Christian bandsters

I am a Christian too and soo believe in the power of prayer. Along with prayers for things like the band, would it be ok to list other areas in our lives that we might want to be lifted up in prayer as well. If so, I will ask first. I am a foster parent and I am having a meeting with the head of the dept. on Monday. I need God to change the hearts of the people and show me favor in the situation. I really do want what's best, but I love the child in my home, and would love for him to stay. If anyone else needs someone to pray with or for them, state what your need is, and I will be praying with you. I will be checking everyday, Be blessed. Oh Yes, my name is Kim, but God knows who we are.

What size band do you have?

I have a 10cc band that is filled to 7.75 I started out at 243, and I am currently at 188. My goal is to get to 160 by my 40th birthday, and wedding in October. Your band can always fit more than the size of it. So my 10cc band can go up to at least 10.5 or 11ccs.

    Any Non Scale Victories?

NSV 1.) Been able to slowly get off of my antidepressants 2.) Can finally cut my hair and don't have to wear it long to hide my fat face 3.) Closet full of clothes that I can't fit (To cheap to buy new ones) 4.) Daughters friends tell her your mom is mean instead of your mom is fat when they get into arguments 5.) Can walk up and down the steps without my knees hurting AND THE BIGGEST ONE OF ALL 6.) I was told that I looked to thin and need to slow my weight loss down YIPPEEEEEEEEEEEE

I cried for the first time...

Tell them skinny heifers to go kick rocks with no shoes on. This was about you, not about them. Let me tell you if they were above 160 lbs and had a way to lose the weight they would jump at it. If you never exercised or ate right, and choose to get the surgery, it would still be your chose and no one elses.

    Still fill big?

My mother told me yesteraday that I looked to thin, but all I see is the same fat girl in the mirror. It is a mind game, but how do you overcome it. I still fill fat. I still look fat to me. I want to lose 30 more pounds, but I am scared to tell anyone, because they think I am fine as I am.

    A Bad food day

Two days ago while I was alone in bed, and depressed because I was alone in bed I ate the rest of the half of gallon of ice cream in the freezer. Mind you, it was about half way full. Boy, did it feel good until I woke up the next morning anyway. The guilt kicked in, I did an extra 30 minutes of exercise, and I have moved on. Today is another day, and another chance to get it right. By the way, I had my surgery in January of 2010, and have lost 70 pounds. I tell you this to say that we will make mistakes, have slip ups, but the success is getting up and moving on.

    3, 6, 12 months after being banded

I have been banded since January 28, 2010. So, let's see, that is almost 14 months. I started out at 243 and I am 5'6' At 3 months, I lost 25 pounds. At 6 months, I lost 35 pounds At my one year bandaversary, I had just reached onederland. Which was a 43 pound loss. Currently, at 14 months out, I have lost 55 pounds. My weight loss has been slow, and I was at a plateau for about 6 months, I kept chugging along, and eventually things started moving again. I would say my biggest disappointment is my inability to eat breads or french fries. Would I change anything because of that, or do I regret getting the band? Heck to the no. Even with just a 55 pound weight loss, I look and feel better than I have in years. No loose skin, but I think that depends on how fast you lose, and how much you exercise. I hope this helps, and be blessed in your journey.

I have failed my band - SUPPORT GROUP

I got a fill and just started following the rules again. After my fill, I did 2 days of liqiuds, 1 day of mushies, and 1 day of soft foods. I keep a log of everything I eat, and try not to go over 1400 calories ( I am 5ft 6in and weigh 192 lbs) . I exercise for at least 30 mins a day, 5 days a week, and I drink 64 oz of Water. I have lost 5 pounds in 2 weeks. Not a whole lot, but I am estatic. We fall down, and we get back up and try again. This is what life is about. None of us are perfect and have all the answers. All we can do is keep trying, and ask for help when we need it, and that includes getting our fills. So let's go. Let's kick butt for the summer. I plan to be down 30 pounds by October when I turn 40. Who is with me? We have each other.

    Any old timers still around?

I just wanted to tell you that you are gorgeous, and yes I am straight. Like you, I am around the 190 mark and have sooo many people tell me how good I look, and that I should stop losing now ( They don't know how much I weigh). My goal is 160, and I will continue until I get there. It's not their choice , it is ours. Be healthy, be blessed, and keep going until you decide it's enough.
  24. kbklassykimb

    I maintained........

Woo Hoo!!!!! Keep it up. I find that when I think about the weight loss less, and just do what I know works, I tend to do better, and the pounds start to come off. .
