  1. Glad to hear things are moving along nicely for you! As far as me, I'm on solids and have been for a while now. Actually, I haven't tried anything I couldn't eat, I'm just satisfied with less. Got my first fill a couple weeks ago; my doc rules. He gave me 5cc! I'm hoping restriction lasts a while, but I'm already scheduled for my next one.

  2. Hey lady! Just checking in with you, seeing how you're doing. What's new?

  3. thank you so much for the kind thoughts! made it through just fine!

  4. hey there, fellow Monday bandster! Good luck to you!

  5. Are you getting nervous at all yet? It's just starting to creep into my conscious that this is real, and that's it's really going to be happening in just a few short days. I'm excited but it's freaking me out just a little.

  6. Hey lady-just checking in with you. How are you doing? Hanging in there? Hope you have a wonderful holiday!

  7. Good luck today! You'll do great!

  8. We're being banded the same day! Good luck to you!

  9. Good luck tomorrow!!!! You'll do great!

  10. Hi there! How are you holding up with the pre-op diet? I think it gets harder every day instead of easier!!! Plus, it doesn't help I'm not having that tremendous weight loss with it everyone else seems to be having.

  11. thanks! i'm trying, but it is so not easy. hope you had a good thanksgiving. i start my pre-op diet on the 7th and i go in for testing on the 2nd. can't wait but so nervous! i'll let you know how it goes. and you're 27 pounds down?!? that's amazing? what are you doing? whatever it is, keep it up!

  12. don't you freaking hate being patient?!?!? my surgery date is december 21. only one and a half weeks left for real food then optifast for 2 weeks. then surgery! eeek! i'm down 8 pounds but i really want to lose 12 more. i know, kind of a lofty goal, but that's what i'm trying for.

  13. yeah, that place seemed nightmarish! glad you stayed away. you'll have to let me know how the other place looks. it's worth waiting for if you get a good doc. you'll know when you walk in. when i went to the doc i "thought" i wanted i was totally put off. when i went to my original 2nd choice i knew before i walked out that was where i wanted to go. my weeks going well. busy as all get out, but show me a working mom who isn't. officially less than a month till surgery day. i'm starting to get that nervous-anticipation feeling now.

  14. Oh man! Sorry to hear that you've been so sick! That's horrible! And hopefully, whatever it is will be cleared up in time for your band surgery. Let me know whatever they find out, and in the meantime I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you. I ordered Bariatric Advantage Meal Replacement Shakes in Chocolate. The taste isn't bad, but the texture definitely takes some getting used to. But at only 160 calories, 27 grams of protein and 5 grams of fiber, they have everything I'm looking for in a shake. Just gotta get past that foamy consistency. Let me know how those shakes you get taste. If they're good, I'll give 'em a try.

  15. I have so many poisons it not even funny. I've been trying to be good, & wean myself to a low carb, high protein diet before I have to start the Optifast, so it won't be so hard once I have to do it. I've even started having a high protein shake as my breakfast, since that's what I'll have to do post op. BUT-my schedule is hectic, and my hubby is NOT helping-he keeps telling me all these places we should eat at before I can't anymore! I'm just like "SHUT UP!!!" I'm not a big buffet person, but I do love me some carbs. And fried appetizer things. It's hard to stay on track, but I keep telling myself once I am strong for a solid two weeks it will get better. If I can commit to a diet for two weeks, I'm just fine. But it's the longest two weeks of my life each time! And I'm trying to change my mindset that this is something I'm going to be doing for the rest of my life, so I better get used to it now. Easier said than done, but I'm trying. Just hang in there. We can do this!

  16. I have to do 2 weeks of Optifast prior. Yuck. But I keep telling myself that's a small price to pay. But I know it's going to be really really hard to do. Especially right before Christmas--no cookies? No treats? Yikes! But I'm trying to follow a Weight Watchers plan before the pre-op diet to sort of ease me from my forbidden foods to just liquids. I'm forcing myself not to go crazy and eat everything in sight. (I'm starting to have a lot of that "last meal" mentality, and that's hard to fight). What are you doing for your pre-op diet?

  17. thanks! i was very lucky with my insurance--they didn't require a lot and they approved fast. now just to be patient waiting for surgery!

  18. Hey there! Saw your post--looks like we're going to be banded the same day! I'm so excited, but it still seems so far off, doesn't it?

  19. Thanks! I will!

  20. hey, thanks for the advice. i e-mailed my first choice surgeon's office stating my position and why i wanted the surgery without a 6 month wait, and i plan on following up on that monday. i wouldn't mind so much if they submit to the insurance first, get it approved and THEN have me do a 3 month supervised diet. that i could live with. but thanks for the advice. i appreciate it.

  21. That's too bad....although I'm fully expecting to lose a large portion of mine through the weight loss. Small price to pay though. Besides, if I miss them that much I can always have implants put in when I have my total body lift! Your page is great, and your pics AMAZING! I hope to have half the success you did!

  22. only 3 hours away? over here in ohio, you can traverse most of the state in that time! lol. and yes, i too think you have to be a little crazy to do sleep---there is no way i could work nights, watch someone else sleep, and not do so myself! credit to you for it-but i'll take my snot any day of the week! although i think there's a certain amount of jackassery required to be an rt-you have to admit, we're a different breed.

  23. at least you called me missy! not ma'am! i'll take it and run!!

  24. you are as old as my husband. therefore, you are not old. :) but i admit to a little envy, as i only have three letters after my name! i'm an rrt, and have been working in the hospital setting for 9 years. we have a sleep lap in my hospital too, and the funny thing is, the only time i get called over there is for a post-study blood gas! very cool to see an rt on here though. i've caught many posts by you-love the sense of humor and insight. where abouts in texas are you? my inlaws live in grapevine.

  25. polysom, eh? so i'm guessing that means you're an rt as well? if so, fabulous. rt's rock, as you don't see our kind very often. how long have you been in the field?
