  1. I live in the west end of richmond and was banded on October 2013. I have dropped 46 pounds so far and I want to lose another 20. I am at a complete stall. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks.
  2. Hi all! I was banded on 10/9 and am down 43 pounds. I have completely plateaued. I am eating right and am on the treadmill everyday. Will be getting my third fill soon but until then does anyone have any suggestions how to get over the plateau?
  3. My typical day consists of drinking all water. I do not consume liquid calories. I normally eat oatmeal made with skim milk got breakfast. Lunch I normally eat lunch meat wrapped with cheese and I normally eat a sensible dinner. I also eat a lot of salads with some form of protein on them. I also do not deprive myself of anything I want. I just eat a lot less of it. I hope this helps.
  4. Hey there! I was banded on 10/9 and I am down 37 pounds. I received my first fill on 12/13 5cc in a 10cc band. Don't think I am in green zone, still hungry between meals. Would do this all over again. Hope everyone has a great holiday season.
  5. I had Cigna and I had to do a three month supervised diet and exercise program with my PCP and then had to go see a nutritionist and a psyche eval. Once that was completed they submitted to insurance and was denied for I didn't have a comorbidity. My bmi was 39.6 and my weight was around 239. Then my PCP took blood work found out I had high cholesterol and they approved me. I got banded on 10/9/13 and am down 37 pounds and received my first fill on 12/13/13. Good luck with the insurance and hope all goes well.
  6. Congrats on your weight loss. I was banded in October and am down 37 pounds and I got my first fill less than a week ago and am trying to learn the band all over again. I can eat breakfast and dinner well but lunch I tend to eat fast and it makes me pretty sick. I have to learn again to chew well and eat a lot slower. I have 5 cc in a 10 cc band.
  7. I was told a week but two weeks is what I ended up taking after my surgery. Good luck to you.
  8. Got banded on 10/9 and had some other issues arise after I was banded. I am now on the mushie diet but I was wondering how long should one wait to start exercising after the band?
  9. I agree with missy. I would have your doctor look at it since you have pus coming out. Hope all is well.
  10. Well they released me from the hospital and the doctor is still standing by his decision that where the port was stitched on the muscle, that muscle is having spasms. I am going to my surgeons office tomorrow to see if he can provide anymore information. One good NSV occurred I was removed off of my high blood pressure medication. I will keep you posted.
  11. I am currently in the hospital right now from what the doctor calls port pain. It's like a shooting pain from time to time around my port area. A ct scan was done with contrast and he said everything looked normal. I guess we will see what today brings.
  12. I was banded on the 9th and about a week after the surgery the pain seemed to dissipate but I ended up getting a bladder infection that kept the pain going. The gas pain last several days and will go away. Best wishes and good luck to October bandsters!
  13. I had gas for about a week. My problem is I am extremely nauseated still a week out.
  14. When did you get banded since your still on liquids? I was banded on the 9th and am trying to find a way to get my Protein in. Having problems with that.
  15. I told my boss it was personal and they accepted it. No questions asked.
  16. I count tea toward my liquid intake.
  17. Thanks for the info. Are they any better cold?
  18. No, they are not pills but a 3.8 ounce shot of protein. It is a liquid. From what I understand they smell and taste bad but for a boost of protein it's doable.
  19. I spoke to my nutritionist about these and she said it was a combined protein so it won't give you the full 42 grams but she said it would be somewhere in the 30's. I have a blue raspberry in the fridge now. They are good to have on hand. Found them at the vitamin shoppe.
  20. I am 6 days post op and am having a hard time getting the required amount of protein in because of the size of the rtd shakes. I went in vitamin shoppe today and they sold me a new whey protein bullet. It has 42g of protein, 180 calories, 2 carbs, 0 sugar. It does have a protein blend. Has anyone used these? Thanks.
  21. Good luck to everyone getting or has been banded in October!
  22. Thank you all. I appreciate all the information. Today I am 4 days out and feel a little better.
  23. Oils this be coming from gas that still hasn't gotten out?
  24. Congrats! I am one day post op and feel pretty rough, like someone punched me in the stomache pretty hard. I like you will hope you hope we both feel better soon. We have to hang in there.
