Of course there is risk to any surgery but the lap band is very minimal. My surgeon has had no deaths and no serious complications. Find a good surgeon who shows his complication rates.I dont want to be rude but if you are around 100 pounds overweight your risks are higher from the obesity than the surgery. And if you have been overweight and failed to lose and keep a weight off for many years...(like most of us) this may be just what you need.
