Congrats on the new Baby ! First grand baby ? How exciting for you ! I arrived Friday morning, had surgery at 11 a.m. and left for home Sunday morning. It was not too bad at all !

It is weird to not really eat much and feel full. I am trying to listen to my body and feel what hunger feels like. On nighr in Toronto we were watching TV and I said to my friend that I an not hungry but I feel the need for munchies. More times then not we ate something while watching a movie. It is a habit that I will break starting that Saturday. You will be fine, The first day I went back to the hotel room and slept. The next day I got up ,had a little warm chicken broth and took a taxi to dance class. ( I watched ) We then walked the 6 blocks back to the hotel. I had a lot of gas pain, that was the worst. Tres Chic had no gas pain ! Lucky ! I reasted for two hours and down to the Eaton Center we walked. ( We stayed at the Delta Chelsa ) Sunday Morning back to Thunder bay.( I brought a little neck roll pillow for the plane ride, Taxie ect, great for belly protection on bumpie rides ) Today I have a small bit of gas pain remaining, but other then that I feel fine. Better every day. I am more nervious about the tape coming off the too soon, and of course the healing & scaring. A little sore around the port but that is it. It is funny because you read what everyonr writes about their experiences, but you think will it be that easy for me ? And you know it was it really was. Wishing you guys all the best, you guys will do great! I am happy:) I feel commited to this new life style

Well last night I had a shower , and boy I nearly had a stroke to see some purple brusing around the port, I don't know why I was so surprised because I saw the pictures on this site. It was not even that bad. It really surprises me how quicklyI am trying to be so careful so that my healing goes well. It is really weird because a few spoon fulls of soup and I feel full ! I know you guys said it would be like this , but some how I did not think it would be that easy for me ! It is cool ! I am staying away from family dinner night for the next few weeks. I think I will have the Flu on going LOL I am on day 4 post op, Can you drink tea ? I would love a 1/4 cup of tea

I bought the grape stacker protein water. I can do the sour apple, but this one is awful !

I was assuming that the protine powders all taste the same as the slimfast But you are right, anything tastes better then that. I do not even know why I keep it in the cupboard !

I was told that Vitamin E was the best thing to put on the scar to help it heal . How long do I have to wait to do this ? I was told to wait ten days before I take off the strips. I just don't want an infection !

no, I am just CHEAP LOL, Egypt just around the corner . I don't want my boss to begin to wonder why I have two sick days in a row when I have only used two sick days in ten years.

I am assuming that Boost and protein powders can be used in the full liquid stage ? What about slimfast ? I have a shit load of that LoL

Thanks so much guys for all your support encouragement and great advice! The first day after surgery was the worst, ( mainly the gas was killing me )yesterday was much better, and today my mobility is good. I am able to put my own socks on !!! Went to work today, as I work at a desk. I thought that I may only stay 1/2 day then go home because I have the Flu ,(ha ha ) but I am feeling so good that I think I will stay the whole day. I have a little pain on the left hand side, but it is not bad. I had the perscription filled as well as getting the liquid codine. I did'nt really need it. I took the pills Saturday and Sunday night before bed, but that was it. I don't think I will take it tonight. Friday after the surgery I did not take anything, all I did was sleep :notagree

Best wishes for you on your Tuesday apt. You will do great. The one thing I was glad I did bring was a pillow. I decided to take a little neck roll one with me, best decision. It was great in the cab ride to the airport as well as on the plane

Hello, I made it through to the other side ! :clap2: Thank you for all your well wishes. Holy man Tres Chic, get you get a good look at the good looking Doctors there! I am telling you , they were HOT. Especially the one that was learning about the anathestic . Glad you did so well. I on the other hand have your and my gas pain in the neck shoulder, back ,belly.:sick It is getting better day by day. We did a little shopping on Saturday and walked to the Eaton Center. We ended up staying at the delta chelsea so it was close. We just arrived back in Thunder bay, :think I love Toronto

The surgery is no longer tomorrow, it is today !!!!!! :omg: :omg: :clap2::think :faint:

Thank you so much guys, You will love belly dancing , I did once I figured out what they were moving and if I hab one ! LOL Where are you taking your class from ? Should I bring a pillow for the flight, or just borrow one from the hotel for the day of the surgery ?

well, they are all right. I tried them befor my surgery on friday because I did not want to think I would drink them, and not be able to because of the taste. I mixes crystalight ice tea with the lemonaid and it was good. The souple apple I mixed berry blend. Does anyone know how the Isopure tastes ? It should be good for $7.00 What about Special K Protein Water ? anyone try it ?

I can't believe it was $7.00 dollars for a drink ! I bought Stacher 2 Protein Water from walmart for $1.97. It comes in lemonaid & sour apple. 20g of protein for 575ml, 80 calories per bottle. Good luck tomorrow

Blowaway, How did you feel the morning after your surgery ? Were you able to move around ? What was it like to try and drink anything ? My surgery date is Friday Feb 2nd
