Oh Mandi I hope you are feeling better soon. It sucks to feel sick.

Hi I was banded Feb 2 at TLBC. I had a little brusing around the port site about a 2 in by 2in spot. It is almost gone now. I did look at the scar stage site here, and boy mine looked nothing like that. very minimal scars and brusing. I was expecting it to be a lot worse.

Wow Cloe, you look so good ! It is funny facing the mirror, life does not look too bad, but then you see the pictures and realize this is what everyone is seeing We all have our pictures like this.

well , three days ago I started to get an infection in the port site. The incision itself was not red, but about 2 inches below, and boy was it sore. I went to energ and they gave me novo - lexin. I doubled up on the first amount and the next day call TLBC. They told me that I was doing the right thing, and if it did not get better to fly down to see them. I think it is getting better . It is not nearly as sore and the redness is going away. It still hurts a little. I have my Dr. apt on Tuesday, so I will see how things are then. As to date I have lost 15lbs. :clap2: I have two weeks befor I go to Egypt, I hope that I can lost 5lbs by then. I am hopeing to hit the gym by Tuesday. I never took a befor picture, so I think I will do that later today.

I think it is going to be fine. About 1/2 the redness is gone and it is not that sore anymore. The Dr. at emerg took a black marker and drew around the redness, He said it it goes outside the line come back. I did call the clinic on Friday, they told me to double up on two times I took the meds and go to Toronto if by Monday there is no improvement. well it is getting better, the redness is going away and it is not as sore. Thank god, I really did not want to jump on a plane to Toronto. My doctor here said she will give me the forms to claim the air fare from ohip. I am sure I will not qualify. I will let you know what happens.

It was a hard decision for me to decide to go a head with the lap band. I second guesses my self a million times. All the what if's. I have been on this site off and on for about two years, but it was in August I thought that I really needed to do something to make me healither. A better me That day a had my phone consult I booked the surgery in two weeks and was very content with my decision. It was the night before that I thought oh my god it is tomorrow. I will board the plane , go right the clinic and be banded. My friend who came with me later told me she wondered it I would get there and then change my mind. I was A little nervious once a walked into the clinic, but everyone was wonderful. The clinic is beautiful. I was able to meet the doctors befor the surgery and discuss what was going to happen. They answered all my guestions and concerns. I did not feel rushed in any way, it felt like they were waiting for me in a very relaxed manner (I must admit that this site has provided me with most of the information I needed, as well as a great amount of support. ) I thought it was nice that the hospital gown was a large size. This was very respectful for all there clients. I had a big laugh as I walked into the Or and saw these large pads on the table. The good looking doctor who was in training with the ansatetic doctor laughted and said pee paper, I know , I said, I have them for my dog. They all laughted. I got up on the table , they hooked up the Iv, The good looking Res doctor said if you are scared I will hold your hand. I was not going to pass that up. As the mask came over my face , I said lets get my new life started,;on the road to one ass, and of to sleep I went. :clap2:

Well, I called Nancy at TLBC explained the situationand she said all should be good. If it gets worse to come to Toronto on Monday. It feel better then yesterday so I hope it will be ok. two weeks to Egypt !!!

OHHHHHHHHHHH yes Creamy chocolate, and then there is ben and Jerry's , who I used to have over for dinner every once and a while .!

Well it is friday, and yeaterday my port site started to become more sore then normal, I started to panic INFECTION oh my god, so off to the emerg dept in -37 degree night. Well as it turned out, I was right an infection is starting so know I am taking 10ml of Novo -lexin X4 a day He had me take a double amount last night before bed as well as this morning. He then told me to continue with the regular amount for the next ten days. It does feel a little better this morning. Should I call the clinic , or do you think I should see how it goes. I don't want them to think I am crazy !

I wish they had a support group in Thunder Bay for the Lapband, I would be there, I would take the counselling If you have to work for something it means more, you try harder, you don't abuse it. It is too bad about OHIP, It is really sad that they would pay U.S. Doctors rather then supporting their own Canadian Doctors. Hopefully that will soon change. I don't regret spending the $16000, not one penny of it ! I sitll can't believe I have it !

well tomorrow I am on full liquids, my world has opened up LOL I still can't believe I did this ? What meds can you take for colds ? I went to pick up cold fx and they do not have tablets ?

well Ijust returned from walmart. I was going to buy a protein powder, easier said then done. Chocolate, Vanilla, strawbrerry banana, cooler protein powders what to buy ? I spent about 15min looking every product over. Then I saw one serving packages on the Strawberry banana Whey Gourmet. The decision was made . It is 120 cal with 23g of protein . We will hope for the best, but the name "whey " does not fill me full of hope ! If anyone is enjoying a protein powder please let me know what is . I will try this one tomorrow so I will let you know >
