  1. Hi everyone! Sounds like the meeting was fun! Sorry I missed it. I had some friends over. I weighed myself this AM and........................... 227.5!!!! 2.5 lbs left, supper low carbing it with Tam-Tam. PS. Tam send me your # so we can text for motivation!
  2. Congrats John!!!!!!!!!
  3. Hi all! Just checking in. I did ok today, but could have been better! Yes Tam-Tam I am excited and nervous LOL! Hope everybody had fun at Point West today!
  4. Tam- Good luck on the low Carb High Protein, thats what I have been doing for the last 2 weeks to get done to goal. I called two weeks ago to tell Kaiser Fremont that I was 4 lbs away from goal and if they could schedule me for surgery since they are booking a month out and I know I will be at goal by then. The case mgr. said she would put my file on Dr. Chu's desk for review. So then they did call me to tell me they where sending a referral for a barium swallow in Antioch so I don't have to go to Fremont yesterday. So I will let you all know when that is lol!
  5. Oh and drum roll please...... 228 this AM!!!!! 3 lbs to go!!!!
  6. I stress over my babies and their future weight as well. Tam- i was told the same thing by my OB. My hubby has been over weight since he was 12-13 because of an accident that left him couch bound for 3 months. I on the other hand was always chubby or thick but started being over weight after high school. So my worries for my 3 year old is that although he is skinny now, he will gain latter like me and his dad. But my 2 year old has always been chunky (but oh so cute!) and he wont eat any veggies So I know he will have a long road ahead of him. But I just have to do the best that I can to keep them active and always offer them a healthy alternative.
  7. Thanks Heather. I suppose my only problem is where to host it. I don't want to always host it @ my house cause of my kids, and I think that a sight for people to log in and chat with would be great but meetup.com charges 12$ a month, and Yahoo & Google groups require you to have an email account with them to use their free groups which not everyone uses them for their email.
  8. Hi Ladies and John. I did watch that piece on CNN. It was a short one but informative and enlightening. I just got back from the Antioch WLS support meeting. Tam & Mo, be glad you did not go. As some of you know it was never a Kaiser supported meeting. It is ran by a Kaiser employee who had bypass 6 years ago. Well apparently she is tired of running the meeting and tonight was officially the last one. There was no warning, and this has left a lot of people without a place to go that is not less then 45 min's away. Since this lady is a Kaiser employee, she was able to secure a room once a moth for free. There was a pre-opp women at the meeting tonight that wanted to take on the task of keeping the meetings going. I had offered to help since I was considering doing the same, but it seemed like she did not want any help. So I guess I will see where that goes. I had really enjoyed having the meetings only 15 min from my home and they where fun. Plus my heart goes out to all the other people who need the support, as I have been making friends in this WLS support meeting :Banane20: Now I'm contemplating starting my own meet-up group.
  9. 1 hour. I just tried to reply with just that response but it told me I have to lengthen my reply lol! This would be easier if it had a chat option.
  10. Mo- we need to get our hubbies together so they can watch the kiddos together and it not be so boring!!!
  11. Ohhh I set my DVR for that! John I friended you too!!!! Mo & Tam-Tam it's @ 7:30. & No scale but I have to say this group does the best meeting that I have been to by far. Let me know I am for sure going. So if you want to meet before let me know.
  12. Candra- Thanks for the input. I took it off and put it away. I'm not gona wear it but I will wait until I have lost more weight to change the size. TamTam- I hate paying for books!!!!! Thats why I love online classes. I'm about to go on my EA sports active tonight. I did walk 2 miles this AM on my treadmill though, but the hubby asked me to join him which he doesn't do that often cause he is tired from work.
  13. Tam- This Wednesday @ 7:30
  14. Mo!!!!! I see you down there lol! You need to call or text me girl
  15. Congrats Laurel!!! TamTam- I just might. Kinda sucks but I would rather not wear it then lose it!
  16. Yeah but it's $50 every time. I can think of plenty things I would rather spend that money on. And until I pay for it to be done,I can't wear it most of the time cause I don't want to risk losing it lol!
  17. Thanks Tam-Tam! it's bad today and I suppose it doesn't help that i am staring @ the computer screen but I'm toggling back & forth with my home work that needs to get done.
  18. oooohhh plus I found one down side to losing weight, my wedding ring needs to be downsized again or I'm gona lose it! And then the hubby will kill me lol!

    Sleeve vs. Band please help!

Ohh and also, I was thinking about the Band as well. But when I went to the orientation @ Kaiser Fremont, the surgeon specifically said that 1 out of every 5 people who get the band will have some sort of complication with in the first 5 years. And he said that the Band is not meant to be a life long devise. When he said that I realized that I did not want to lose all my weight just to have to keep going under the knife so to speak just to maintain.

    Sleeve vs. Band please help!

Hi Chrissy, I'm from the Band site, and Lee also showed me this Sleeve site as well. I will be getting the Sleeve as soon as I lose the last of my 10%.... Hopefully next moth I will be on the losers bench. I am dealing with Kaiser Fremont, a little different then Richmond. However I can attest to what Lee said, you might not get your surgeon apt. on the day of orientation. But start losing your weight now because they account for your weight with the PCP as well and it is normally 10% of your weight.
  24. Tam-Tam-today looks like it was a great food day!!!!
  25. Lee, how are the non flavored protein powders that you mix in your water?
