  1. You are probably just a tad too tight...anymore and you would probably have been miserable. Still since you are able to swallow and get things down without getting sick, as you lose more weight this week it should loosen up for you in a couple of more days. : )

    Hello,

I had my first fill last Thursday (3cc's). I can definately feel a difference with a few bites of my meal instead of the full 4 oz's. Thats no problem....the problem is; I eat or drink and I feel like its just sitting in the back of my throat...it makes these weird gurggling noises, I don't know what to do! I don't know if this is "Normal" or if the fill was maybe too much too soon!

Has anyone else had this happen? If so what did you do?

    Thanks a bunch!!

  2. Oh gosh, Im so sorry to say this, but no. After 2 days I still had a pain pump, by day 3 it was gone and the port pain developed. It does subside within the week, but I would be afraid of someone bumping into me at the concert, not to mention you might be a little light-headed from not eating alot. Maybe you could give your ticket to a friend as a gift? ;) Good luck on your surgery! Im sure by the time her next concert rolls around youll feel like you could give Shania a run for her money! :(

  3. I was in the same boat as you as of Christmas. I was losing at a good rate, but became hungry every 3 hours as well. I went back for a fill the day before Christmas Eve. It was a mistake. I was so tight over Christmas I could only drink liquids, and not a whole lot of that. I was miserable! Here 2 weeks later I have loosened up enough to eat, but my weight loss has slowed. Seems like I had found my sweet spot, but didnt know it, and now I am having to wait until my band loosens up again to start loosing weight again. (I hope that makes sense) I think by eating so few calories while being too tight worked against me, not to mention I felt just awful...Of course this is my own experience and might not necessarily be yours...I think if your loosing good you should hold off for a couple more weeks before going back for a tweek...best of luck to you in whatever you decide! :(

  4. Jl...

Please dont get discouraged...It will get better, I promise! You sound like you just dont have enough restriction right now but you will. Just keep getting your fills. I have 7 in a 10cc band and have just started loosing consistantly. I was banded 8/10/09 and up until my last 2 fills had lost only around 25 pounds. I think I have lost right around 40 right now. Restriction will come but as you loose more belly fat, it will become looser. Dont grieve too much over who eats a half a cup and who eats a whole, its going to be different for everyone. Eat what you need to be healthy and satisfied and what allows you to loose consistantly. I have been too tight in the past, and believe me I would rather figure out what works for me than be miserablly tight to eat only 1/4 a cup of food. I think there will not be one sweet spot for me. I loose good awhile and then have to get filled a little more to find it again. Just do your best, like it sounds like you have been, and it will come off even if it is slow at times. I wish you the absolute best of luck!

  5. "Is this really worth it to me?? I am seriously asking myself that a lot lately."

Im ashamed to say this, because I feel so fortunate to have had the lapband when others couldnt, but Im with ya! As of right now I have 6ccs, but dont get stuck too often. Still, I have very little enjoyment from food, and like you I never get to enjoy a meal with my family, not to mention my weight loss seems to be consistant, but so SLOW!:) I was banded on Aug 9, and have lost 26 pounds so far, 10 of it from the presurgery diet. I often find myself thinking maybe I should have had gastric as well.

  6. I'm with you guys on the weightloss...I too was banded in August, on the 10th. To date I have only lost 26 pounds which includes the weight I loss from the presurgery diet. I can only manage to loose about a half a pound a week. It is sooo frustrating! I have had a fill every 2 weeks since a month after my surgery and am up to 6ccs in a 10cc band. I have just now starting to feel restriction, but havent lost any weight. I think it would help me if I only knew who much I should be eating at a setting. I keep getting conflicting statements...sometimes 10oz at others a half or full cup? I dont know if I'll ever get this weight loss thing right!:tt2:

  7. Glad you asked that question, I've been wondering the same thing! I had my band put in on August 10th as well, while I havent lost as much as you have, I seem to be loosing my butt and my boobs instead of the parts I really want to loose, my arms and belly. As far as the dark spots, I dont have any but I'm sure they will fade...Good Luck to you!:seeya:
