Where does your goal put you

It really depends on you do not let someone else tell you how you should feel, if you think 20 more pounds would make you feel better than go for it. I had someone tell me not to lose any more weight that I looked great after losing 48lbs. I am 5'3 and 175lbs so I am still overweight and I do not like the way I look so I am still working on weight loss until I reach "my" goal. Good luck!
  4. I am sure like most of us on here we have all struggled with weight nearly our entire lives. Today is a great feel good moment, I am down 47lbs and my clothes have started to swallow me. I catch myself looking at myself in the window reflections or mirrors where ever I go something I have not done for ages. The only sad part is that there was a point in my life when I was 176lbs and looked so down upon myself and always wished I was smaller but now getting back to this weight after so many years I have found a new found excitement, I look and feel great too bad I did not notice this years ago before I sabotaged myself and added 50lbs to my body. Thanks for listening!
  5. I was banded Oct 7th and had my first fill on Jan 4th only 2cc I have no restriction and so far can eat anything with no problems. I have my second fill on Feb 11 and he said it will be another 2cc and then I come back in two months to check progress. I am currently down 47lbs. I had a 4 week plateau in January but have managed to break that this past week. I just took my daily calories from 1200 to 1050 and added two days of serobic exercise and that did the trick. Keep in mind EVERYONE is different what works for some will not work for others just like calorie intake. I believe you have to find what works for you. Also with you have to change things up regularly, my dietician said that your body is always trying to find maintence mode and if you stay with something like a certain exercise routine all the time eventually your body copes and starts to maintain itself with that activity, sio he suggested that every few weeks to change my foods up, and my exercises and even my calories. It has so far worked for me well.
  6. I am curious I am 3 months post op and had my first fill 2cc on Monday and I feel the same as before no difference.
  7. I feel great and my problem has been my habits, I have lost 44lbs so far but I catch myself when not even hungry going after that snack at night, nights are my worst enemy. I have only had one fill at 2cc and I do no notice any changes with my eating just yet but hope in Feb. that when I get my second fill I will notice a change. It will always be a battle except now I have the band in my corner. Banded 10/07/2010 starting weight 223 Current weight 179
  8. My doctor has given me a protein shake that is 345 calories and I am trying to watch my calories, does anyone else use something that is lower in calories. All ideas and suggestions welcomed. Thanks
  9. My doctor said 1200 a day, what have some of you all been told and what has been your sucess or failure? I have hit a plateau and my doctor is very conservative, I got my first fill 3 mths post op and it was just 2cc's. I lost 33lbs before the fill and nothing since and it has been 3 weeks so far.

    Follow-up visit concerns

It really depends on your doctor and his staff. My doctor has been nothing but encouraging, even with weight gain. He is also very conservative on fills, i did not get my first until 3 mths post op and it was just 2cc's and it has done nothing but he wants me to get used to eating my portions and chewing that is why he prefers to be conservative. They doctors are they to help you win this battle so hopefully they will stay positive with you.

    I hate mirrors....

Try not to let it get you down, as it has been said many times before it took a while to add it all on and to do it right it will take time to take it off. Number one you are healthier and I bet you are looking great! 53lbs is a lot, and you should be proud not disappointed. Crystal
  12. I am too tired to read through all the previous post. I am 4 days post op and I have been walking around my block twice a day but I still have this strange pressure in my chest ever so often that almost takes my breath away. My incision sites are pain free except port site that one still gets me if i cough or strain. Does anyone have an Idea what the pressure is? I have taken gas x with no relief.
  13. What do all these short symbols/codes stand for like for example pb, sliming, etc. can someone please give me a cheat sheet, thanks
  14. I am set for Oct 7th, start my pre-op diet tomorrow Sept 30th. I am anxious but excitied, and I twas approved on Sept 9th and my doctor wanted to schedule me for Sept 16th but I needed to let it all sink in. Good luck to all of us soon to be bandsters!
  15. Hello Everyone, I am getting banded on Oct 7th and I have my pre op on Sept 30th so I have not even talked to the doctor yet about anything. I work as the only pharmacy tech in a day surgery center and was curious as to what I can and can not do post op. I am not telling my work I having the procedure because my boss would not allow me off from work (she is lazy and does not like to work by herself) so I took a week of PTO. I know with HIPPA that my doctor can write me off from certain activies without spilling the Beans. But to get back to my question, what can I expect. I have been paying attention to my everyday activities latley wondering can I do this post op? Thanks!
  16. I have my surgery Oct. 7th and I was wondering from all you Bansters what was your average weight loss post op. I know everyone is different but I am curious what each of you have experienced for yourselves. Thanks Crystal
