  1. It is probably something like that. Or the IV fluid. I lost 4 pounds overnight. 3 others that had recent surgery are claiming the same aches. I guess I just sit back and wait. Crystl, thanks for the cheese offer but no solids for another 4 weeks.
  2. I have liquid hydrocodone but I am not really in pain. Just achy. Hard to explain. I am going to take a mouthfull and see if that works. Thanks!!
  3. I am not feeling great. I think I am getting payback for feeling good after surgery. Every muscle in my body is aching. I wasn't expecting this. Never read a thing about it. Gas is gone and no pain around incisions. Just muscle aches. Especially my calves when I stand or walk. It's a good thing I didn't go straight back to work.
  4. Right click on the image in my signature Select "Copy image location" Click "User CP" in the upper left Click "Edit Signature" on the left Click on the picture of the mountains Do ctrl-v in the box asking for a url Click Save
  5. Well, you know what they say, "misery loves company." I have been reading these forums and obesityhelp for a long time and I don't remember this being mentioned. Everybody loves a surprise.
  6. Is this some kind of secret or is it just me? I have never read about muscles aching all over. Felt great after surgery, just gas. More gas yesterday. Today, no gas but every muscle head to toe is aching.
  7. I'm on my 4th week of Optifast and I love them. They are a little pricey and only available through distributors. Check out their website OPTIFAST - weight loss, weight management, improved health, renewed energy and self esteem
  8. If you haven't already done so, please mark your date on this poll: http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f22472/march-2010-only-please-110733/ Thanks! Bob
  9. You didn't even put your face in the bag and take a deep breath? Way to go!! Somebody was trying to justify their cheating the other day by saying that nobody sticks to their pre-op diet 100%. I said I did and I'd like to think I am in the majority. Your experience proves I may be right.
  10. Congrats and welcome to Bandland! Glad you aren't feeling any pain. My went smooth too. We had a woman in my pre-op class that was being banded over her bypass.
  11. Welcome and don't forget to put your date on the calendar here: http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f22472/march-2010-only-please-110733/ I was banded yesterday as well. No pain but this gas is very irritating.
  12. Froggie, I asked the exact same question and got the exact same responses. Now that I am in this position, I can tell you, "just do it. It works."
  13. Have you ever heard of pizza Soup? It is like pizza without the dough. Google it. You may enjoy it as much as pizza.
  14. Succeed, It is just a set back. Life is not a race and you are still young. I had a set back last month because of a moron in my surgeon's office. I kept a positive attitude; the bitch was fired and my surgery took place as planned. What is the treatment for anemia? Curing that may help you lose the weight where you won't even need surgery. If a competent surgeon is saying he can't do surgery because of an illness; I wouldn't suggest finding another that will.
  15. Congrats!! The main reason I hate flying is the hassle of airport security. The next is the fact that the seats were all made for anorexics. I choose to pay double and fly business class on Air Trains. The seats are comfortable and I can actually remember the first time I had to ask for a seatbelt extender. But I cannot remember the last time that the tray table actually came all the way down. You're making me want to take a trip somewhere just to see if it does now.
  16. This is exactly why some animals eat their young.
  17. Maddy, my C-section was great but I was on the other side of it getting picked up by the feet and slapped in the ass. Then I had to listen to my mom bitch and moan about the pain I caused her for years. Trust me, if half of that pain was true, the lapband surgery will be a piece of cake for you. Had mine yesterday and there was no pain. Just annoying gas. Good luck!
  18. I did leave out one part. If this is too overwhelming to do all at once; take it slowly and only cut down one of your meals at a time. It is not a race and if you want it to last forever, it shouldn't be a chore.
  19. Smoking cuts down on the amount of oxygen that reaches your heart and causes hypertension. This affects your entire body including your band. It is best that you quit but that won't happen until you really want to do it for yourself and are ready. When you are ready, try the Nicotrol Inhalers. you get your nicotine orally and you have something told hold in your mouth like a cigarette. It worked for me and I had been smoking for about 30 years. I can't help with port question.
  20. Keep your head up and look forward to a better future. Pretty soon this will all be behind you. You just have to tough it out a couple of more weeks.
  21. Welcome Rachel. I am in Keller and just had my surgery yesterday. How is your band treating you so far?
  22. I'm going to cheat and re-paste my blog entry here. Thanks for asking!! I'm almost disappointed that my surgery was uneventful and boring. It was kind of like my C-section only this time the doctor didn't pick me up by my legs and slap me in the ass to get me breathing. 11:10 AM - Checked in the hospital 11:20 AM - Got brought a room to strip and put on a johnny 11:40 AM - Nurse inserted IV as prep 1:10 PM - Rolled to OR 2:20 PM - Woke up in recovery room feeling bloated 2:40 PM - Walked to x-ray and drank barium 3:20 PM - Was sent home I did not feel any pain yesterday and this morning I am a little cramped maybe sore but the gas is irritating. When I went to bed the gas is subsiding. Well, the night shift came on while I was sleeping and I have a whole batch of renewed gas this morning. I take 8 pills a day and the doctor said I may have to take them 1 at a time now. I took the whole fistful at once and chugged some Water. No biggie. All in all, I've felt much worse after a night out drinking. I could actually go to work today if I wanted but that ain't gonna happen. I did however gain 5 pounds yesterday. How much do these damn bands weight?
  23. Betsy, I hope everything works out for Mark. We're pulling for him and being in the medical field, you know that anything can happen. They were talking transplant with my dad since he was in his late 50s. He never got one and lived a relatively happy life until stomach cancer took him at 79. The gas is worse today than yesterday and I am somewhere between cramped and sore. I wouldn't call it pain. In reading other people's experience yesterday, I almost feeling guilty for not experiencing the pains they are. Is it because I practiced for so long prior or just a great surgeon? Took my medication this morning in one fistful and chugged a mouthful of water to wash them down. Not an issue. I can guzzle shakes and water with no problems. I was expecting to have to sip it. Planning out my first stuck episode 4 weeks from now. A 6 inch black forest ham and turkey breast on wheat from Subway; a small order of sticky rice from a Chinese restaurant or seafood alfredo from Olive Garden? This isn't going to be an easy decision.
