3rd fill today - very dissapointed - need your thoughts
Whillow posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So I went for my third fill today and was really looking forward to some restriction. I have been struggling the same 3 pounds for the last 5 weeks, and only lost 1 lb according the dr scale today . He asked what was going on and i said well, the scale isnt moving, he asked if i was feeling restriction and i said no not really , i did for about 1 week after the last fill , then nothing. He removed the Fluid that was in the band - and where i should have had 4.5 cc, i only had 2. Somewhere ,somehow i lost 2.5cc. He added that 2 plus 2 more back in and said if i feel no restriction to come back in 2 week for a check. My question is, has anyone here had fluid dissapear and not had it from a leak that required a second surgery ... I am very dissapointed and frustrated at this point. -
my office has you lay down and lift your legs like you are doig leg lifts,,, once he finds the port you can relax your legs,, he fills and your done.

I use flinstones chewable that i found at gnc - they have adult doses, i also use a chewable calcium.

They say green tea is supposed to aid in weightloss by helping the metabolism... i drink it.

Myfeelings have been totally 100% hurt big time just now - while talking to a girl at work who quite smoking and gained a few pounds just said she lost what she gained and i sad good for you  then she asked about me i said well the scale hasnt moved in a week and half but i go see the dr next week - she said - this all seems to be a pain in the ass to go through for nothing... NOTHING ???? 38lbs in 3.5 months is NOT nothing!!!! I am near tears here:crying: and can not beleive that she has said this to me... Sure i see people who are the same time out as me or less adn they have lost more,, but ive still lost 38 GOD DAMN POUNDS!!:frown:

Going on a cruise in July, would Dr. lossen band for just that week ?
Whillow replied to robin32470's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I dont know if mine would,, and i wouldnt ask - we need to learn to enjoy food and life with the band in place doing its job - loosening so we think we can enjoy something more isnt learning.. i dont think anyway. -
Having a real dilemma on whether i need to go for a fill next week.. can anyone give me some insight please.

Had a HORRIBLE day today at work -- was feeling really down and depressed about a number of things,,, so i figured why not add insult to injury lol and used the scale in one of the exam rooms that i use to weigh --- down another 3 for a total of 41!!!!!!! Brightened the day a tad

Too fill or not to fill
Whillow replied to Whillow's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am pretty good with 4-6 oz of food.. occasionally dinner is a little more than that --- I have the once in a while stuck episode - from not chewing enough or too fast or the wrong type of food.. Pasta doesnt seem to work for me at all anymore - I have pbing a couple days a week. and I have lost 4 lbs in the last 2 weeks.. I Guess im afraid if i cancell this appointment ill need a damn fill the next day lol,,, also afraid if i get it i will be too tight like i was with this one,, took a good 2 weeks for me to be able to eat comfortably...... -
So my srugeon and Nut said no coffee --- I gave up coffee in september and have not had any since then.. but im really wanting a cup - i love the flavor and the warmth... how many of you drink coffee??
-
Cant wait ti hear about how that food is, I am thinking I might order some for work lunches and see how that goes.. talk about easy.

Hi guys and gals, I was wondering have any of you found that being stressed or anxious or upset can affect the tightness of your band? I was at work today and the crapppla hit the fan and I ended up being thrown into the HUGE porject which totally ticked off the girl i work with -- so needless to say i was anxious and a little on edge all day - when lunch time came i found i couldnt get a thing down, not even the pear fruit cup.. was so wishing i had brought a yogurt with me today - The reason i ask it was am scheduled for a fill on the 4th and was going to ask for a small fill .5 or less but after today i am trying to figure out if i should or not... dinner went down fine btw - some fish, a little salad and a couple bites of mashed sweet potatoes.

I am only 4 months out - but this is my thought - We swell after each fill, but you are drinking the water right away before the swelling really occurs.. my thought it you are swelling on your way home making it hard to drink. I have heard hot tea can help with swelling maybe have some of that teeeeny tinny sips when you get home and wait it out for a day or so --- I have had this problem and i just struggle through it,, taking the smallest sips of crystal light, hot tea that i can manage -- it gets better by the end of the day after the fill...

Thanks for all the advice - I was never a "i must have coffee in the morinng" type for girl so it was fairly easy to give up - but i would like a cup once in a while... Thank you !

I am finding myself not able to get in the most meat - I dont think i am getting enough protien or veggies - most meals are carby, like weight watchers Pasta or something like that - do any of you have a trick to get in some meat? I also find when i do get the meat in I am too full for veggies? Any advice there? i do have some morning start veggie burgers, trying to hit 2 birds with one stone there - we will see how they go down. Tried turkey with gravy tonight and that didnt work - i ended yup eating 4 brocoli pieces and mashed potatoes.. not a very healthy dinner.

I postponed my fill last week to next week because i felt i was a little too tight, but now it seems i can eat more than i should now that i am chewing chewing - before when i wasnt eating as slow as i should or chewing as much i was in pain.. but now that i finally figured out the chewing and slow part i can eat more than a cup.. off to my fill on the 4th,, cant wait! -
give me your quick and easy lunch ideas please....
Whillow posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I need some healthy lunch ideas,, i dont want to be eating this frozen food crap everyday - I sure dont eat the whole thing, usually about half but it just plain isnt good for you.... -
So When I was on a low carb board we used to post out daily foods,, helped out alot - so here goes today so far, if this isnt appropriate please let me know.... Breakfast protien shake made with skim milk. lunch - one small pits pocket with 1/4cup tuna salad made with a tiny bit of mayo, 3 dill pickel slices and a super thin slice of cheddar cheese and 2 slices of a small tomatoe- I have been wondering if i was over filled -- I really took my time at lunch chewed really really well -- took time between bites.. so i am not over filled.. I am wondering if i need a teeny fill at this point lol... I have a hard time determining whats a cup of food lol. oh yeah.. headed back to the gym today after work!!!! :frown: OK let me have it!

THANK YOU allSO very much!

Here are few recipes - the Soup and chicken lasagna i have had and both are awsome, the bean sandwhich my friend sent me thinking the protien would be good i still need to try it... Bean sandwich mix 1 can chick peas (garbanzo beans) Finely chopped onion and red pepper 2 small sweet pickles chopped salt and pepper to taste 1-2 teaspoon mayo Mash up drained Beans and add the rest. Mix it up and spread on bread or roll up. Yummy and filling. Tomato and rice soup 1 can condensed tomato soup 1 bag frozen vegies 1/2 cup rice 2 can Water 1/2 can milk salt and pepper to taste garlic and onion (optional) Chopped chicken(optional) Bring soup, water, and veggies to a boil. Turn down and add the rest. Let simmer 20 minutes until rice is tender. Serve yummy! Chicken lasagna 1/4 cup fresh cilantro or 2tbs dried 1 pkg cream cheese - i used low fat 2 cups shredded mexican cheese 1 medium onion - 1-2 cans enchilada sauce 12 corn tortillas 3 cups cooked chicken - I ran this through the food processor with the onion to make it more ground like tuna - soften cream cheese in micro, add cilantro and 1 1/2 cups mexican cheese. pour 2/3 cup enchilda sauce in bottom of baking dish, dip corn tortillas in sauce as you go,, place 3-4 in tortillas in bottom of pan, add 4 good size spoonfulls of cheese mixture and then a layer of chicken.. repeat each layer ending with tortillas and i poured some enchilda sauce over the top . Cook on high in micro for about 15 minutes. This is actually a pampered chef recipe and you use the deep covered baker to cook it in the micro.. but you can use any micro safe dish,, this was very soft, very filling and i had to problems eating it.
-
I dont know if i can have rollups i have not tried them- I was just as suprised that the corn tortillas went down well,, i dont know if it because they are dipped in sauce and soft or what lol - rolls and regular bread dont work for me at all ....
