I've been postponed 6 mos for gaining too much weight
Whillow replied to AbbeMac's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
My doctor is known for postponing surgery due to weight gain or lack of loss-- There was a girl in my group sessions who was sched for surgery on a Tues and had an appointment the day before - came to group that night and said he postponed her because of weight gain  -
I think I have found the first food that makes me ill after eating it... so far i have had no issues with anything, including bread - but tonight i had a small salad with cucumbers .... i am in agony right now  no more cukes for me.

Whillow replied to dratdee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am not sure what mine cost - i was banded 5 weeks ago but my insurance covered all of it 100% so i have not seen a bill. -

I all, i have a few questions, i was fielledon monday and i dont think this has anything withthat as i was having this before - I have a discomfort feeling in my stomache, below my sternu, but in my stomache, with a little pain and growling and gurlging lol sometimes witha wave of nausea.. wondering what is going on.. am i not eating enough maybe? I have lost 22 lb since the band on 10-13 no weight loss this week yet- i cant eat alot i feel very full very soon, is it common to have discomfort from not eating enough .? what are the symptoms of an ulcer or band slippage do you think i need to worry about that at this point? could it be heart burn? any and all advice would be appriciated. thank you ! sue

Thanks.. I did feel better after eating and the noises frommy belly went away lol - now i am trying to figure out what the "full" feeling i am watching for is like.. After i eat i get this light pressure feeling right in middle of my breast bone..I am assuming that is where the band is and that feeling is that i am full.... i feel so pathetic not knowing when i am full and i think i am not eating enough --- i am only getting in like 500-600 cals a day...

help- restriction question
Whillow replied to sewillia's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was told meals should be 3-4 of protien, 2-3 veggie and 1-2 grain for a total of 8 0z a meal. is this wrong.. i have 4cc in a 10cc band, my first fill, i feel the same restriction i did right after surgery - i can eat 6-8 oz of food. -
HI - I am on full foods, my dr does 2 weeks liquid and 2 weeks mushie, so ive been on food food for a little over a week. still have protien shakes in the am as its all my stomache can really hand. fyi, i just had lunch and after eating the pain and discomfort seems to be better - i have a small teeny sandwich and 4 triscuts with hummus.

How soon did you return to work?
Whillow replied to 1SkinnyChick's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I work as a medical assistant- I took 2 weeks off. There is no way i would have felt ok going back to work with much less than that - i was uncomfortable and tired and trying to adjust to drinking my meals... take the time !! You will be happy that you did. Even after the 2 weeks i went back to work on a tuesday and that week was long and tiring, i wasnt feeling really good until the end of the 3rd week. -
First fill scheduled for tomorrow - I am a little nervous. and wondering how I will feel after. I am down 22 lb since surgery 5 weeks ago - and still dont have much of an appetite at all. This weekend i felt like i was a tad hungrier than i have been, but i think it was the rainy dreary days and being bored. so what can i expect tomorrow.. do fills hurt?

Hi, Banded Oct 13th not hungry-- my breakfast is a shake, my lunch if basic fat free cottage cheese - either 2tbs hummus or 1/4 deviled ham and am allowed fat free saltines. by dinner i guess you could say i am slightly hungry and usually consume around 3/4 of whatever dinner is - i made a ground turkey mash potatoe thing and butter nut squash, i had 1/4 sqaush and 1/2 cup of then other.. that filled me up just fine. I find if i drink water all day i am even less hungry.

Post-ops on Pureed Stage
Whillow replied to juliansmom2003's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ps- definitely no cheating -- i didnt go through surgery and shell out 500 bucks for my portion of the surgery to screw it up by cheating,, plus almost all my friends and co-workers know i had it so that helps keep you honest lol -
Post-ops on Pureed Stage
Whillow replied to juliansmom2003's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded on 10/13 - my first fill is Nov 16th, I am on mushie foods right now -- I drink a protien shake at work in the morning and it takes me about 45 min because of my work but it makes me full longer i start at 8 or 9. lunch is at noon - i have 1/4 cottage cheese and either 2tbs hummus of 1/4 deviled ham - i am also allowed plain low fat crackers at this point so with the deviled ham or hummus i have 5 fat free saltines.. that keep be satisfied until dinner which is at 5 or 6. I stay full by drinking water all day at work - if i dont i end up dehydrated... week three and im still not all that hungry - i would say dinner is when i am the hungriest and even then its not starvation feeling. but i keep my amounts the same through out the day and no meal other than shake equals more than 3/4 of everything put together. Ive lost 20 so far. -

Whillow replied to iHaveh0pe3's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I went from 282 to 277 the 2 weeks before surgery (5) and then went from 277 to 266 (11) in the twoweeks after-- so 16... hoping for contiuned weight loss.. cant imagine i would not continue slow steady loss seeing as how im eating like 500 cals a day.... my first fill is nov 16.. i have a feeling that it isnt going to take much for me to feel restriction. -
