Hi guys, I was banded on oct 13th and everything went great - I have had 2 fills totalling 4.5cc -- everything was going along wonderful, i was at a loss of 29lb a week or 2 before christmas, during christmas and until now i gained 4 pounds, i didnt think i was eating wrong - i was watching everything, and the amounts, since then i have only been able to relose 1 lb so i am still up three and the scale doesnt seem to be cooperating.. given how smoothly and succesfully things were going before i am getting upset. I have a carnation sugar free breakfast with protien powder and skim milk for breakfast, lunch is normally a salad or a lean cusine type meal and my dinner is meat and veggie - by dinner i seem to be eating more than i should be allowed, im not feeling full. Could this just mean i need another fill? I have decided to go with just protien powder and no carnation breakfast for breafkast to cut out some cals,, about 60. all in all i am nearly 3 months out and 26lbs down.... just starting to freakout that this wont work.......

Whillow replied to Whillow's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you . I have a fill scheduled for the 20th.. so I guess I will just ride it out and be extra aware of how much i eat. -
those sound great,. how much of each thing do you use.?
-
Both weight watchers and stoufers, make exactly what you are talking about - healthy??who knows.. they are sugar free, un sure of fat content and cals, too many can also cause loose stoole since it is made with sugar alcohols.

"Diets" after the band
Whillow replied to critterlady's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I eat what I want - with that said , I dont eat crap all the time - not to say i dont have a bite of something - like my daughters birthday cake, but it was a bite. I was never a breakfast eater and eating in the morning was really hard for me - but i found after the band i had stomach pains if i did not eat - so i have a super protien shake in the morning - usually drink it over the course of an hour - lunch is either a lean cuisine type meal, at work i find that the easiest, or left over dinner, today will be a salad and 3 meatballs from the subs i made my family last night.. I try to stay away from breads and Pasta, only because i know i do well when i dont eat them all the time, I lost 97 on atkins a few years back and the low carb thing worked well for me. I didnt have this band put in so i could "diet" for the rest of my life - i had it so i could eat like a normal person! Normal foods in small amounts - and that is what i am doing. I am 2 months out of surgery - as of last week i was down 26lbs , i have not weighed this week yet - wednesday is my weigh day at work. I have had one fill of 4cc and go back next monday for a second. I dot fee restriction unless i dont chew or eat to fast then i feel "something" i catch myself eating that last bite when i really should stop, hopefully this next fill will help that. This is different for everyone, i tell you that as much as i remind myself that when i read these boards.. we are not so and so , and whosey lost this and whatsey lost that.. well they are them and we are us and we can can not compare - do what works for you! -
how do you know if you have a leak?
Whillow replied to dhall111's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
YOu should call your Dr. and go in for a check - they can pull out all the fluid that is in there, it should be the same amount they have put in. -
I have a chocolate no sugar added instant breakfast - with a scoop of choc protien powder and i am good to go until lunch time.

Lost too much weight, no fill...
Whillow replied to Hutch444's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I lost 17 between surgery and my first fill - 5 weeks, and my Dr. happily gave me a fill - i lost that because i worked my but off at watching everything and eating nothing even if i was hungry - the fill has helped that slightly, but with holiday parties and stuff I am going in next week for another fill -- i need the help! -
Is this my sweet spot?
Whillow replied to peaches36's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
make sure the chicken is moist, i have found moist foods to be better -- you should be able to eat 8 oz of food at a meal, that is both what my DR. and Nutritionist told me... give it a little more time ...i find one day i can eat one thing and the next day the same thing says no way lol. -
Hi Everyone - So I was banded on 10/13 and did great, had my first fill on 11/16 - until the fill i had lost 22 lbs. since then another 3 lbs. Problem is it seems i had more restriction BEFORE the fill? Anyone else have something like this happen - maybe it is only because i have been home for 4 days in a min vaca and maybe i am grazing more than normally - im worried. I also wonder how soon is too soon to call and ask for another fill, my next one isnt due until 12/30 - im discouraged as i was doing so well before the fill i thought it was be a breeze after the fill -- any advice? Thanks Sue
-
well, i just got off the phone with my surgeon office and they were more than happy to move my full up a couple weeks so i am going in the 14h which is 4 weeks since the last one - really hoping this fill gives me that full feeling i was having until a week ago.

"Lump" in my throat?
Whillow replied to juliansmom2003's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had that, my regular dr looked at my throat and said it was irritated and was probably fromt he tube that they put down your throat, it lasted about 3 weeks post op for me then went away. -
Just wondering if anyone else gets this after they eat - I was banded oct 13th, first fill ast week 4cc no problem, down 25lbs. But every time i eat i get this pain in the upper right area of my abdomen, just under the rib cage.. any ideas?>
-
My surgeon does both - he believes they are equal - one month he uses one the other month he uses the other. At my pre surgery support group we saw and touched both bands, the lapband was a smaller port -- i have the lap band only because that is the one he was using that day..

Lap Band vs gastric question
Whillow replied to April A's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
My dr, does mostly bipass people -- he said he like it for the fast success for but said he felt i would do great with either -- i only had one person tell me i should do bipass instead of the band since i wanted to lose 120 or so. I stuck with my gut - went with the band and 5.5 weeks out and 1 fill later i am down 24 lb. pretty good going so far.
