THAT is a really great idea!! I love baking and my family and I sure dont need it!!! Thanks for the awsome idea! SUe -
I had to go tothe surgeon yesterday for a fluid check to see if the band was leaking, which it is not thank god!! He added 1c to bring me to 5- last night and today i am drinking just fluids but they are going down very slow -- i have to wait a good 10-15 min between every 2 sips or so... no vomiting, no nausea -- just wondering if this is normal to feel? cant imagine anything solid or even mushy at this point.
-
Thanks so much for the replys - as of now i can drink,, I can feel the tightness and it is slightly uncomfortable but its going down and staying down - drinking slowwwwwwwwwwwly lol... thank you again....

I am trying to learn what this feels like - trying to decide if i have the same amount of restriction as i did this past week - espeically with the question of a possible leak. My question is, is it normal for certain foods to be easy to eat and others to be quite the chore? What about having real good restriction one day and then what seems like none the next ? thanks sue

I have a quick question -with the problems i have been having laltey i am trying to be very careful with my food... I am trying to measure everything -- my question is this.. when measuring your foods.. now my dr say 1 cup/8oz of food should i be measureing up to 8 oz on a scale or what would fit in a 1 cup measuring cup?? very confusing lol.. wish me luck thursday i go see the surgeon again to see what is going on here - very slow weight loss - possibly a leaking band..uggg im scared.
-
Thank you both so much - I was confused as silly as that sounds - but when you think about it 8oz of salad is way more than 1 cup full.. Thank you again. S

Whillow replied to texasteacher1970's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i had mine the week before surgery , was 100% gone when i went in - when i woke up in my room i had started again and had it for 2 more day,, nurses said was totally normal and happens requently -
I am 3+ months out and still have that pain off and on, the Dr. said it was normal.

Long story short - went for a fill had no restriction , dr. pulled out Fluid, not as much as should have been there -put a total of 4cc back.. Skip to now - Great restriction - possibly too much -- dinner hard to get down takes a long time , easily sticking but only for a few minutes..not going to complain - since the last filli last wed ive lost 3 lbs putting me at the 32 mark!

Hi, So I posted the other day about the Dr. thinking if was losing fluid - only pulled out 2 when he should have pulled out 4.5. He put the 2 plus 2 more back in , for a total of 4. That was on wednesday - and as of today i still cant eat anything solid no matter how small the bite or how much I chew - I have been living on protien shakes and yogurt and soup. while im not really complaining, this surely has to the get scale moving again - but how can i go from no restriction and loss of fluid to 4 cc being too much? How many days should i wait to see if it improves and i can eat something that requires chewing ?

Fluid loss,, now too much ?
Whillow replied to Whillow's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am totally using this as a motivator!! lol, just wasnt sure if i should be concerned or not. It is hard to say when the loss of fluid happened, my first fill was in nov 5 weeks post op, 4cc and my second was 5 weeks after that .5cc - at the second fill i did not check the fluid amount so i am not sure if it was lost at the first fill or after the second -thanks for the advice. -

Whillow replied to carmelita's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks for the website,, cant wait to try some of those. -
I drink that shakes at the advice of my nutritionist - i know i dont get enough protien, and the shakes a actually do fill me up for a couple hours and get me through the in between time of lunch and dinner - mine dont have many calories right around 100.
-
soups were part of my DR's first 2 weeks, that and yogurt, sf pudding, jello. I ate soup for lunch and dinner ..just has to be smooth - i loved the progresso tomatoe basil soup.
-
I too found that I was starcing by the time i got home from work - I eat lunch at noon at work and then dinner wouldnt be until between 6-7 - I changed my breakfast from a protien shake to weight control oatmeal , and i have my shake between 3-4 that way im not hungry when i get home , can make dinner and eat a acceptable amount, I dont know if this will jump start the loss again as i just started this week, but it is making me feel more in control at dinner time.
