I think anyone of us that went through this revision felt the same way !! The first 6 weeks will be an emotional roller coaster but do what ever you can to fight these negative thoughts !! The weight will come off !! Follow your surgeons and dietitians directions and you will succeed !! I am 11 months out and 101 lbs down and I never thought I would be here !! Drink lots of Water and Protein and stop looking at the scale !! If I can do this anyone can BUT the one piece I was never informed about was the hormone roller coaster right after surgery ! You hormones will even out and you will be fast on your road to success !!

Thanks so much for posting! My band was removed 3.5 years ago. I'm scheduled for RNY on 7/13. The doctor told me progress could be slower since I had the band before and depending on what any possible scar tissue may look like in the stomach. I'm nervous, but I'm trusting my surgeon. Thanks again! Amy
Personally I found this sooooo much easier post op ! Follow your surgeons directions and remember to eat slowly ! I still do not touch sugar and VERY little carbs ! No carbonations either ! Best of luck and feel free to reach out with any questions !

I am currently 10 months post op band revision to RNY . What a journey it's been ! My expectations was to lose weight but I was told I would lose weight extremely slowly and not that much because of previously being banded . Well I hit my 100# loss and couldn't be happier !

I completely understand and my best advise to you is mix it up !! Change your food and work out routine ! I was exactly at the same place as you ! You need to add some food and def drink 60-90 ounces of Water a day . Your body knows what to expect now so that's the need to change it up and you will start to see results again . Be prepared that they may be slower results but none the less results

I had my band removed and revised to RNY last July 29th - I am down 90 lbs and am working on the last 30. While there are some new challenges the positive benefits WAY out weigh the negative . This is a lifestyle that I can and will live with ! I do not miss sugar or caffeine. This was the best decision I could ever make !

Congrats to you ! I had a band in for 9 years [emoji37] my band ended up coming a part and turning into a huge hot mess of scar tissue , along with a small ulceration and hiatal hernia . I had band to RNY last July 29th - I am down 90 lbs and working in my last 30 . You will not regret this at all . Yes life is different but in so many ways better ! I don't miss sugar and am learning to love how I look ! Good luck on your sx date and keep us posted !

I've been told to take pictures all along this journey , but that is one area I have avoided ! That is until yesterday , and I have to say I was astounded with the results ! I have to encourage everyone to take these pictures because they really give you the motivation you may sometimes need ! Plus it really is a positive reinforcement that your journey is going down the right path ! I'm currently down 66 lbs, 1/2 way to my goal ... I can't wait to see the finished product !

Hi , I'm 6 weeks out and had a few questions -
1. By 8pm in exhausted , I make myself stay up until 9:30 but I am just exhausted ! My Fitbit tells me I'm sleeping soundly - but I used to always be up until 10:30-11 ... Is this normal ?
2. I'm getting my 60 gm of Protein in a day and 64 oz of Water , but today I'm hungry .. Eating little bits at a time and all Protein types of food but I honestly haven't eaten this much since before sx . Any ideas why ??? I've been doing really good , down 35 lbs since sx and normally 3 oz Protein per meal has completely filled me .
Any advice about either would be greatly appreciated ...& yes taking optisource Vitamins twice a day ...

@@monae78 - hi ! It took a good 2.5 weeks to hear back ! The most frustrating time ever ! But once you find out it's been submitted call bcbs and ask for a status ! I called 3 x - the third was when u found out it was approved ! At that time u asked them to email me the approval letter which they did ! You can than forward it to your surgeons office ! I wish you the best on your journey !

A year a half ago was my RNY bypass date . July 29th - my new birthday ! Down 115 pounds and have never felt so wonderful . To this day I still do not touch sugar or foods that contain sugar , very low carb and mainly Protein and vegetables . There isn’t a day I regret my decision . I have run several marathons and will be training for 2 triathlons for 2018 . I’m not going to say has been easy but it has been a conscious lifestyle decision I choose to live on a daily basis . I started off a size 18 and now currently a 2. I work out 5 out of 7 days a week and miss it if I can’t ! For all of you starting this process , my words of wisdom to you ... follow your surgeons directions , life isn’t about cheating anymore and prove to yourself that you are worth this new life style !
