    Bougie Size?

Interesting you keep tabs. I truly believe everyone needs to do their own research. This is a major choice for some people to make. So if that means the person needs to ask questions over and over, speak with lots of different people, go back and forth, wait months, revisit the idea of surgery... I don't see a problem? As you can see some people WANT to discuss this and educate themselves.

    I'm at my goal size!

Do you study Bariatrics? Because you are in for quite the surprise when you find out the research they are doing to perform this on lower BMI's.

I really wish people wouldn't hijack threads.

    Hubby Doesnt Like Me Now

Divorce. Don't waste your time. Life is too short to miss out on true happiness. Yes divorce is a scary, harsh word but you do not sound happy and in love with this man. Who could blame you?

My confession. I fell of the wagon

OTR: I am curious if you have read the book "skinny thinking"? May want to check it out, when I read your post it struck home for me, Skinny Thinking is a great read! Good luck and please keep us updated.

    Bougie Size?

Rxtine! What up Girl! Anyways- why do people care so much if people ask this? Just don't reply if you "don't care" or think it doesn't matter??
  7. What did your surgeon or support group do that helped you be successful with your Sleeve? Many surgeons offer different ways to provide aftercare, after my Lapband not working out so great for me I want to make sure I have great success with my Sleeve. Did you use a meal planning program? Work out program? Were you required to attend appointments? Did you surgeon check up on you? So please fill me on what unique success tips or aftercare you had! I do know the Lapband requires more attention (fills) but I assume the Sleeve does need more than just the surgery part! Thanks
  8. And yes, I have heard of people having great success with larger sleeves!
  9. Your doctor should have removed your band, let you heal and then go in to perform the sleeve. Your stomach was so swollen and scarred thats why he could only remove 60%... if you wait 3 months after band removal, your stomach has a chance to "calm" down a bit. Worse case, talk to another surgeon (I recommend in the US, close to home) to "re-sleeve"
  10. I am shocked anyone would want to do this to themselves!! It drives me crazy and grosses me out.

    Removal of Band

I was banded about 7 years ago. Can anyone share with me the removal surgery? Time? Pain? Recovery? Thank you

    Removal of Band

Can you explain your recovery? Were you sore? Could you lift after? Did you eat normal right after?

    Removal of Band

I am getting my Lapband taken out, waiting 3 months then being sleeved. I highly recommend this. My friend had it all in one go, and because she didn't let her stomach heal after her lapband removal she feels zero restriction. Hasn't lost a pound. I rather be safe than sorry
  15. What are you sick with? You may find some great support here!
  16. Hi, This would be a great question for your surgeon. I think its hard to predict whether you would need to get the second part of the procedure. Maybe you can provide more info about your eating habits and why you think you are overweight? Sometimes that helps people give more feedback about their own experiences. I think the sleeve is great, and its an added bonus that you can have the 2nd part done if you stop losing! Can't say that about RNY.
  17. Yes, there are many people who regret surgery or don't get the results they wanted (which I doubt they would want to hang around on this site). There are several different reasons for this. One being they didn't follow their surgeons directions, the surgeon may have botch their surgery, or they just weren't prepared for the new lifestyle. The important thing is to focus on yourself and your success. Pay close attention to when you aren't losing, it will be easier to correct this the earlier it is addressed. Read as much as you can about the Sleeve (lots of books on Amazon and Kindle). Consult with a nutritionist or therapist if you find yourself falling into bad habits. This surgery is what you make of it, yes there are unexpected bumps in the road but as you can see most people are thrilled.
  18. You'll be SO amazed at all your health conditions that disappear after weight loss
  19. Also: you don't eat a lot?? You may want to research your weight issue deeper- my friend lost 100lbs because she started thyroid meds (she had no idea she needed them)
