I saw mine the day I left the hospital 2 days after surgery. Spoke to him on her phone for my 2 week post op and he said then see you in 3 months. So that means I should be getting a call to schedule am apt sometime this month. I can email him and my NUT any time and have done so a few times.

for me I have spent the past 3 years of fill then unfill, many test to see what was going on. I had my last son in 2011 and after his birth I ended up with 24/7 acid reflux nothing worked to help it. Plus if my band had any filling I could not eat it get liquid down. We found my band moved up just a little while I was pregnant but over all my body was rejecting it. So once I came to the conclusion it has to go, after I had put back in 90 lbs in the last 3 years that my asthma flared up, my arthritis in my knees got bad it was time to get it done.Hey I currently have the band but hate hate hate it n want to get rid of it always having problems.. can someone tell me what they require that would make me a candidate for revision from band to sleeve?
Are you having any issues with your band?

No preop diet. Just liquids the day before surgery. Put in 10lbs of Fluid weight while in the hospital. These first 2 month no working out just normal day life and walking around work or stores. I have been in. 3 week stall so I got a personal trainer at my gym and now go 4-5 times a week. I still struggle to get in my Protein of 70-90 grams and all my fluids. Once I figure that piece out I hope the needle starts moving down again.

I have had a few so they could see placement of the band and other things. I also took the rest of the day off.

Hi I, 2 1/2 months out and down 32 lbs.
-
Good luck Bernie. I had my band for 6 years and on 6/18/14 got it out and got the sleeve. Boy the past 2 1/2 months are so different can eat, drink and no acid reflux issues. I still struggle today to get in all my Protein and Fluid as I'm just not hungry. So I do my best and some days I can go over my limits. Take it easy and remember get and start walking as soon as you can.

Deb so far at 2 1/2 months out I'm down 32 lbs and feel great. It's so nice to eat and keep food down, no acid reflux issues either. Hopefully you can find a doc and surgeon soon. Hang in there it's not easy I put on 90 lbs in 3 years after having my son and my body was just rejected the band. No matter what we did only time I could possibly eat was when it ad empty. I finally gave in and now at times kick myself for waiting so long to do the revision.I'm also considering the revision from lap band to sleeve. Trying to get set up with a reputable doc and surgeon. Keep us up to date on your progress. My band is completely full and I'm in failure and gaining. Very frustrating. Thx. Deb

mine was all in one and I took a week off. The first few weeks back I was pretty worn out at the end of the day as my energy was not back to 100% and being in liquids for so many days. The best thing is get up and walk as soon as you can after surgery. I was moving 3 hours after getting to my room. Drink your liquids to stay hydrated and if you are in pain take your pain meds. It doesn't help the healing process if you are are in lots if pain. And rest as much as you can while you are off work. I would sleep when I felt like, mostly after taking my pain meds as it made me sleepy. It was also hard to get up, sit back down, and find a comfortable place to sleep but work with it and find what works best for you. Listen to your body as it will let you know sleepy, thirsty, you need to move etc. just FYI it May be hard to pick up the little guy at first (I couldn't lift more then 10lbs for a month after surgery) so be careful, I know it will be hard my youngest is 3 but we got thru it. good luck and speedy recovery.I am hoping to get banded to sleeve in the same operation. I am scheduled for Sept 9 at 7:30am. I am supper excited and scared at the same time. I have a 6mth old boy that I have to make sure is taken care of too. When I got my band my recovery was a breeze, I am hoping for the same but we will see. Can anyone give me any helpful tips on what to expect the first couple of days after surgery. I only took off 4 days off of work so I am a little worried that I won't be able to get back to work in the amount of time that I want to.

Mine was all in one and took about 2 hours. Not a lot of scar tissue but my port was embedded and took a bit to get out. That is the area I had pain for a good week or 2. I was glad my dr was able to do it in one because I really didn't want to be put under twice.

I have a desk job and took a week off. But it took me a good month to get back to my old self and have energy.

I'm down 32 lbs surgery was 6/18. I'm stuck in a stall and this week I really started working out. I was a couch work outer and have struggled to get into a routine. I've seen a personal trainer to get the kick that I need. I'm also am struggling getting Protein in as shakes just don't agree with me.

I took off 5 days but did have the pressure/ pain from the bar sitting on one if my incisions between the breast. I just moved it out to the last row of loops so it wasn't as tight and that helped. Not sure about a sports bar but I would think it would cause the same pressure maybe look going up a size: example instead if 38 go for a 40 to give a little more room. Yeah it won't be a tight fit but for a few days until your incisions fully heal you dont want it tight around that area.Oh I can hear it now, if I went to work free. My husband is not hearing that one. So do sports bras hurt too? I will have to look for some tight tanks thay won't ride up. Cause that will be the other problem. I am praying that I won't have any problems, cause I need to keep my job. My husband has been super supportive, and he could care less if I work. I know that is not realistic for our lives right now. So I am grateful for his heart, but I just pray that all will be well.

I feel you on the acid reflux. Knock on wood I'm 2 months out an no issues with it.Hi Gendy and welcome. I got my band in 2004 (10 years now) and had the exact same trouble like Stacielynntate. Horrific acid reflux, food stuck, vomiting all that went in and so on. My surgeon suggested the sleeve but I was only thinking about getting the band out. I had lost 100 pound in the first 5 years but gained back 30 to 40 pound over the last 5 years. So dieting is what I did for the last 5 years to keep is below 40 pounds but I am really ready now to get the sleeve and hope to have the same luck that it works for me without trouble, like acid reflux. Because that actually was my worst nightmare with the band. Not being able to sleep more than 30 minutes before all came up again. So yes I am hopeful and nervous at the same time. Where do you get the revision done?

Glad to hear she is doing better.

I am in CA the Bay Area. So far I'm down 32 lbs.Yes it is good luck happymama2014, great,Stacie how much have you lose? Are either of you Mid Atlantic?

Good luck to you. I was banded in 2008 lost 121 lbs en had my son in 2011. The last 3 1/2 years have been no fun, food getting stuck, anything I ate or drank I most likely threw it up, 24/7 acid reflux. Open the band, fill the band, so many test basically my body didn't like the band any more. I out back on 80 lbs between pregnancy and the struggles after. I had my revision surgery on 6/18/14 and down 32 lbs so far. I wish i did it sooner ( my dr wanted to last year but I put it off out of fear). It is nice to eat and drink with no issue, no acid reflux. My dr did find my port was embedded into my muscle so took a little to get out. As far for scar tissue he was happy there was not a lot and was able to remove it all.

I live in the bay and have Kaiser for insurance. I had mine at the South San Fran Kaiser and they are great. I've been seeing them since 2009 for band adjustments and then they did my sleeve revision in June this year.
