    Post Op June 2014 Sleevers

wow what a roller coaster you are on. Glad to hear your Dr is on it and you have a good support team in place. I hear you in the odds since I'm a revision from band to sleeve my % went up 20 but I took 8 month to think, research and talk to my family before going this route. I'm lucky my scar tissue was not as much as my Dr was thinking (granted I had the lapband done august of 2008 )so my risk went down a little. Did they say how long it can take for the leak to heal? I don't think you a being a Debbie downer you are putting it out there for everyone to know there are these risk if you go thus route. Plus good to know what some I'd the symptoms you had so we all can be on the look out as well. Here's to a speedy recovery.

    Work after Revision

I can't pick up anything over 10 lbs for the next month.
  6. I'm only a week out from my revision and no issues. My Dr said there was some scar tissue but he was able yo clean it all out and doing the sleeve was easier because of that.
  7. I'm only a week out for my revision surgery to the sleeve and so far in acid reflux issues.

    Band slipped...scared for whats next.

I had some of those issues after my son was born in 2011. Acid reflux was horrible but once they emptied the band no issues. So I did revision to the sleeve on 6/18 and so far no issues with acid reflux and I'm glad I finally did it. Is your reflux bad when you band is empty? Does your Dr think the same as the PA? I wish you all the best.

man that would make it hard. For my soft foods I can so cottage cheese, yogurt light ones, sugar free jello and pudding, puréed soups, sugar free applesauce and protein shakes. My dr calls it the no lumps no bumps stage. For drinks water, decaf tea or coffee, propel, vitamin water zero non fat milk, soy milk. I can also use the crystal light water flavoring which helps me get down more water.

    Follow-up today

I'm also a band to sleeve, my surgery was 6/18. My dr has ok'd really soft foods 4 days after surgery. I didn't have a lot of scar tissue but my port was the issue and that incision site/area is still tender. I feel so much better now that the band is gone how about you?

I also have stairs. Just take it one at a time and as each day passes it gets easier. My husband went up and down with mr the first few times to be safe.

    June 18th Sleevers?

yes finally can sleep on my sides last night YAY. I feel overall good still struggling on protein I have noticed vanilla flavor makes me gag but the Unjury chocolate splendor I could handle so just ordered some more if that. I am walking at least 20 min a day and trying to get at least 2500 steps on my fitbit. I go back to work tomorrow and my good old husband is my taxi driver (dr says no driving the first 2 weeks) plus he needs to carry my backpack.

    Nausea

it was bad for me the first night but by the next afternoon way better. Did they give you anything? I was giving zofran each day and was sent home with a supply Iin case I need it.

    vitamins

I got some from celebrate vitamins and get a 10% discount as my dr recommended them. I use them for multi and calcium. The others I found ar Walmart or Amazon.
  24. I go back on Thursday and tomorrow is a week since my surgery. My dr did give me time for 4 weeks but I have a desk job and can work from home so I'm only taking a week off. Plus if people want to be paid next week I kinda need to go back as I'm the primary payroll processor. Everyone is going to be different but maybe start off with so many weeks and if you feel better sooner then try to go back earlier.
  25. 1) yes 2) can be many reaons: scared, nervous, pain. For me I didn't have any issue 3) depends on your pain level, how you heal etc. for me I was at the store 3 days later but 5 days out after trying to do to much with my 3 year old I was feel week.
