    Not enough calories

I'm struggling to get enough calories in. Mr Dr wants me to get 1000 a day but I'm finding I can do 600. So I'm starting to think trying to eat every 3-4 hours small meals and see if I can get it in. Hardest is I just don't feel hungry so it makes it hard.

    Pre Suregry

Would you do it again knowing all you know and what you have experienced? Yes , just I wish I did this back in October when my dr first suggested it. I am am a lapband to sleeve revision. I know first few weeks liquids and protien shakes but can you eat real food again? I'm only 2 weeks out and eat normal soft foods. I can't wait to get back to other normal foods. What are biggest highs and what are worse things? Worst for me is Protein shakes. I'm having such a hard time as they all seem to sweet for me. Crazy to think since I have a big sweet tooth. Also trying to get in the 1000 calories my Dr wants me to when I'm not hungry so I have to force my self to eat something at times. And the biggest high is hearing everyone at work say they can see changes already so it makes it worth it. (Down 22 lbs since surgery on 6/18). Can you drink alcohol again once recovered and havre been on this new journey for awhile? I hope so even though I'm not a big drinker but do enjoy one here and there especially holiday time.
  5. Good luck to your mom. I only used my toothbrush, hair brush and deodorant. Had my phone as well. Comfy clothes to go home in.

    June 2014 Sleevers Check In!

glad you where able to figure out your meds. Me for the 4th just hanging around the house resting. I was going to try and travel back home (4 hours away) but since I don't have all my energy back I figured I would take it easy. I miss being with family like usual but next year will be a different story. So his long weekend (plus my birthday tomorrow) is all about me recovering and getting healthy.

    June 2014 Sleevers Check In!

oh it was so good to chew food this week. It can take me between 30 min to an hour to eat a scrambled egg and a slice of lunch meat. I saw the refried beans also and plan to get some and try it also and man avocado sounds so good right now. I don't feel hungry at all so having to force myself to eat has been he hardest part.

    June 2014 Sleevers Check In!

way to go on your 5 miles. I'm slowly adding up my walking. I also try to nap when I get home from work but then I also try to hold out in hopes to sleep thru the night. Haha we will get it worked out one day soon. I have been struggling with my protein shakes they all are now to sweet for me. And to think I had the worlds biggest sweet tooth before surgery. I have found the Unjury chocolate splendor to be the one I can get down the best. My Dr moved up my protein intake from 40-60 grams to 70-90 so real struggle now. He also wants me to get in 1000 calories which is so hard when you don't eat a lot. At least in soft foods as eggs, deli lunch meat, tuna, cheese so I can get a little more protein there as well. For hair loss I had some before because of the lapband but not bad. My dr has me now starting all my vitamins since I'm 2 weeks out so hopefully I don't loss any.

    June 2014 Sleevers Check In!

I'm right there 2 weeks out and still not getting a full nights sleep. I'm exhausted in the afternoon as I'm back to work full time this week so you would think I could sleep thru the night. Can't wait for that to get back to normal. I'm the opposite since surgery I'm hot and before used to always be cold.

it can be normal. Walking will help with the fad pains. The pains are most likely your incisions healing. Mine hurt most when getting up or down, or moving to get more comfortable. One of my incisions still hurts a little and I'm 2 weeks out.

    June sleevers, check-in!

hang in there. I came home from my revision 10 lbs heavier from all the IV fluids. A week later did I finally see the pounds drop. I agree this surgery I have been slow to recover then my lapband one. I'm really sore on my left side where the port was removed as it was embedded a little. I'm 2 weeks out tomorrow and feel better with each passing day.

    June 18th Sleevers?

yesterday went good but man I was so worn out by the time I went home. My husband is picking me up early today. My dr moved me to stage 3 soft foods so I can have scrambled eggs, deli lunch meat turkey, mashed potato or sweet potato and pouched fish (don't like seafood so that is out). Man a scrambled egg as so good to eat and chew something. good luck at your apt. My next check up is in 3 months.

I'm 10 days out and having big issues with protein especially the premade ones way to sweet. I got a sample pack from Unjury.com and mixing the powder ones with some frozen berries is easier for me to get them down. The last few days I've had to pretty much force myself to eat as I'm not that hungry. Are you able to do puréed soups, yogurt, applesauce right now? These are ,y go to right now.

    Sleeve or Lapband?

I originally went with the band in August of 2008. I picked the band as I didn't want something permanent. Lost 121 lbs then in 2010 got pregnant. After my sin was born in 2011 I took a year off the. Went back for adjustments. Man if my dr filled my band past 1cc I could not eat, drink and had acid reflux all the time. Did many upper GI test, blood work to look for infections etc. my October of last year we emptied my band and started talking about revision to sleeve. I thought long and hard and after a partial tear if my MCL that is still slowly healing, I said its time. I have put back on 100lbs since getting pregnant etc. finally in May said ok and had my revision surgery to sleeve done 6/18. Boy even though I'm on liquids, soft foods it is so nice to be able to keep food down. I knew I had to make the change as I had to get the weight off as my knees can't carry the extra do to arthritis and they are pretty much bone in bone for the wear and tear to the. Now I'm sharing my story just so you know there can be issues. Some people have no issues with the band and do awesome, then you have the ones like me. Do all the research you can, talk to your dr about the differences to help you decided what is best for you.

    full liquid diet?

i made potato soup in my crockpot then blended it really well so no bumps and doing just fine. I think as long as it is blended and you don't have chunks of potato you will be fine.

    June 18th Sleevers?

Just stopping by to check in on all of you, so how is everyone doing? Me still struggling to get protein in today I actually blended it with frozen berries and I got it all done. They are all tasting sweet to me and making me gag. I did try to go back to work yesterday and after 3 hours I was pooped. My boos said go home and don't come back till Monday. Hoping I can make I they he day then as I need to process payroll. The rest of next week I'll most likely work from home. I just weighed myself and I'm down 20 lbs. holy smokes it feels good. I hope you are all doing well.
