  1. Thank u again.. well they were going to do that pill / camera thing when I had the sleeve but when I woke up they said that during the endoscopy they saw that it was acid and I was too inflamed.

the reason that I freak is because my little brother died of stomach cancer in his 30s .

my doc actually said two weeks ago after the post-surgery endoscopy that maybe these are phantom pains because this should’ve cured it 😫.

    yes...i had/have this issue.

i learned to make sure i ALWAYS go to bed (or lay down) on an empty stomach, and sleep with my head slightly elevated.

it has got a little better over the years (i'm 5+ years out now), but if im not careful i'll wake up choking on some bile/throwup very suddenly.

this has probably happened 4-5 times in just the last 12 months alone...all under the same circumstance: i fell asleep on the couch watching tv after eating something. it used to happen much more frequently in the beginning, so yeah it got better...but i dunno if my reflux itself got better, or if i just got better at managing the triggers 🤷🏻‍♀️

I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your comment. It’s good to know that I’m not experiencing the impossible. Or imagining it

  3. I am waking at night with naseau or reflux (kind of trying to figure out which it is). Has ANYONE experienced this? I’m praying that it’s nothing serious because the whole reason I had the revision surgery was for bad erosions that wouldn’t heal from acid reflux (after the sleeve).

had an endoscopy two weeks ago and have another scheduled In May

    THANK U FOR SHARING/your time

  4. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate you taking the time to answer me. It’s been over 2 months , so that’s why I’m kinda freaking out (my younger brother died of stomach cancer in his 30s… sooo the thought not getting my erosions to heal and this surgery not having been a success is really depressing me). I have an endoscopy scheduled for 3/15.. I can’t bear the thought of this revision not being a success … thank you , again 😢🙏🏽

  5. My doctor said that after my gastric bypass (revision from gastric sleeve) , I should not have any acid related disorders or heartburn, but I definitely still have it ..also in the middle of the night I feel naseau that comes and goes (can go a way if I change positions) … is this true that bypass patients have zero heartburn?

  6. I’m sorry to keep posting, but this is soo challenging . I had my surgery last Monday (Dec 18), I’m finally drinking 3 Premier Protein drinks a day (plus waters , broths, puddings) and today is Christmas Eve and I’m planning on having family visit but I feel like I lack energy —the way that you feel when you just haven’t eaten… does anyone have any recommendations?

    THANK U CAT

there really isn't much - if anything - you can do about Hair loss. It's due to your body's shock reaction to major surgery, and that's already happened (well it's the shock - plus the fact we're taking in a very limited amount of calories those first few months).. The shock speeds up the normal shedding/regrowth cycle. Some things can help with regrowth, but there's not much you can do about the shedding. Although not everyone loses hair, and some lose so little that others don't notice it - so you may luck out. (I lost very little - I'm sure no one noticed - I barely noticed - I just knew about it since there were more hairs than usual in my combs and brushes)

  9. What symptoms are you experiencing? For me,I had the band 12 years and started to experience: major cramps and bloating . For the last two years I’ve gone back and forth to the doctor and had pelvic and abdominal ultrasounds . I got tested for gluten intolerance etc. my doctor finally concluded that I have Irritable bowel syndrome. I never thought even once that this could be related to my band. Over the last two years, the symptoms increased from debilitating stabbing pain than would occur anywhere from my abdomen to lower bowel region near my ovaries once ever month or two to twice a week!! I just had my bad removed and 8 weeks later , not one incident! I never my symptoms listed under the complaints that others list when wanting their band out ... so I just thought I’d share Incase someone else is in the same boat.

  10. To feel full/satisfied. I’ve been packing my lunch and one item I pack us a Greek yogurt I’ve been eating for Breakfast (soft phase). I’m 8 weeks past surgery and my doc said I should eat 2-3 oz , 4 times a day. But that leaves me hungry. Today after eating my yogurt I realized it’s 5.4 oz. that seems to be the amount of food that gets me satisfied. I don’t want to start this lifestyle on the wrong foot. How many ounces you guys eating at 8 weeks? THANK U
