  1. The total protien and size of your meal is more important then calories.

I also just started the my fitness pal and love it. Uses tings of space on my phone tho, and eats the battery. I only count calories because if I stay at 700/800 like they suggest, I doing lose. I need to hover around a thousand. If I take in more then 1300 I will maintain only.

The exercising and adding calories is new to me, so eager to set if I lose this week.

    Good luck

  2. I cannot feel my band and it does not hurt me to get. I can feel my port and it sometimes causes a twinge. The doc said it is the location. He likes to place the port here, but it is in muscle near your rib.

If you are active, just let your doctor know.

Good luck. I love my band.

  3. I am almost the same as you, yes. I gained almost all my weight back, because I could eat.

Tmf is right, eat slow, chew allot, enjoy!! But stop at the cup, or when you feel it.

I totally enjoy eating, even if I am not hungry, so this is a challenge every meal. The end results are worth it!!!!

Stay strong. If you measure your serving, and only have that in front of you. Small bites and chew allot; really think about each bite, and taste what you are eating. This helps!! Then decide if you are still having issues. I has to go back to liquids for a couple of days, then mushy to get back to eating correctly.

  4. I struggle with adding calories, because then I add a few more, and a few more.... I assume I will need to at some point add them back in to maintain also. Can't wait for that day. Congrats on a job well done.

I thought we was suppose to take one or two days a week off from exercising?

Maybe check back in with your doctor and team and see what they suggest.

  5. If you are cheating now, I would suggest postpone the surgery. You are not ready to change your life style.

The band is a tool, and you are only cheating yourself. This band is not a magic wand.

I fell back into bad habits, and it is terrible trying to back on track. I could have seriously hurt myself.

You need to realize this is the way you eat your whole life..

Good luck, it is an awesome tool, but you still have to do all the work.

  6. Do not wait until the weekend....you will find another excuse. Trust me, I have been making them four over a year. I gained almost all of it back.

Measure and stick with protien. It is ok to feed the rest of the household and keep your portions tiny. Use the tool, even if you do not feel restriction. You will be going shortly for that fill. In the beginning you had to buckle down and change your eating habits with no band. This is almost the same.

I thought I had no restriction also, but if I am honest with myself, eat slow, small bites, and chew and enjoy then I do have some.

Don't over think, depend too much, or out smart this tool.

    Hope you do well.....

  7. Hi Bunny. I did go back yesterday for a tiny bit more in my band. I haven't been there in well over a year.

I have a great doctor, but also just a doctor, in no way is he a mentor. I just figured this out. It was not nearly as bad as i was expecting. Other then how much I have gained back.

I was worried it might be too much, as I thought I was at my sweet spot. I think now I was having some restriction, but not enough. I should be forced to eat slow, small bites, and stop at less then a cup. That is what this band does. I was lazy and started chewing less, took bigger bites, etc. I also didn't stop in time, because in reality I was NOT satisfied.... I need to go back to the less is best motto.

Good luck. :) you will feel better if you make the appt. if you are over filled, they can take it right back out.,

  8. I am on day two of a restart. It is consuming me at this time....I think it is harder to start over then at the beginning. I So wish I had never challenged what they told me.

I don't think they emphasize enough the reasons they put the rules into effect. You have the don't eat list, because you can't. The list is not entirely because you physically can't, but because you can't eat that type of food and lose!

I am very happy I came back to the forum for support, this is just what I need. Wish there was more support meetings in Maine to attend.

  9. I am also restarting.....I also have not gone to my doc because I am ashamed of my lack of dedication.

I lose very slow, and I am comfortable at 700 to 800 calories, but will not lose unless I eat 900 too 1100 . straying even a couple hundred is a challenge, as it makes me want to nibble. More then 1200 cal and I basically maintain.

I go a very long time before the scale actually shows a loss too, so I have avoid it. I wish the care after the band was for life. Seems visits and meetings should be mandatory like mammograms and physicals.

Oh well. Day one here we go!!!
