  1. I had the same problem. I was eating 1000 cal roughly, and 60 g Protein give or take.

The problem being I was eating deli meat, bacon, high fat ground meats, etc. Because they are easy.

I started fresh in July; and now trying to eat more fish, chicken ( can't eat white meat, it gets stuck) lean pork and lean ground meats.

I am still losing very very slow, but I have an injury and cannot get my heart rate to 140. As long as I am not gaining, I will take the slow loss. Maybe it means it will not come back.

    Good luck

  2. Wal-Mart has a Hurst 15 been Soup that is so so so good. It is basically the same recipe as above, but has every different type I'd been you can imagine. Then you simply add the tomatoes and meat of your choice. I have made it with chicken, pork, beef, sausage. There are spice packets all included.

    Also

    http://www.hurstbeans.com/

Their website has excellent recipes, if you have questions they answer you right back. Can't say enough good about them!!!

    Hope this helps.

  3. I think I am in my green zone, but eating takes a great real od concentration now. So if I do not chew everything carefully and swallow small amounts I will get stuck.

If steak is tender and rare, I can have a few bites.

I think I am over eating right now because I have been lazy with my food choices.

The band certainly makes you slow down!!! Not a bad thing....

    Good luck!!!

  4. Nicely stated. The band is tool... remember that! You will get out of it what you put into it.

I have been banded three years and lost 20 net pounds. Meaning, I spent the last year and a half abusing my tool. I didn't have the right restriction and abused slider foods. I thought I was smarter then the band, but turns out I ended almost back to starting weight.

Then I keep putting off getting on track. I was ashamed of failing so didn't want too see my surgeon.

In July I finally but the bullet and went to see him. I am at great restriction and mentally in the right place.

Best of luck. This site is amazing, Yesss it to your advantage.

  5. I usually have a Protein Shake or two eggs for Breakfast 150calls. Grapes or banana for snack .. If I go to the gym, u have fruit first and Protein after.

lunch is 3-4oz meat -salmon, tuna, left overs; or veggies and a shake (separated bya few hours to make it last. .depending on what time dinner will be) (I stay at 200 cals)

    Dinner-meat and a small 1/4cup veggies.

If my protein is not at 60g, I will drink a serving if skim milk.

If I am hungry (or think I am..lol) I have cukes or a raw veggie with very few cals. A half a cup will stop the hunger feeling .. then trying to distract mself until it goes away.

Night time many band is loser and I want to eat.... but just because I like to ..ha ha!!!

    Good luck all

  6. I am a non smoker and lost many dad to them, and now in the process of losing mome to them. So I always beg people to quit. So horrible to watch someone (especially a parent) slowly choke to death......

That being said, in Maine the doctor will insist you quit, and they check your oxygen levels weekly through out the six month process.

I assume it also had to do with your breathing after the band. You do not burp the same and air moves through your body differently. Smoking must also further inhibit this.

Plus if you have a tumor from that inn your lungs or airway I imagine you're breathing will be seriously effected.

Just because you do not physically see or feel a problem smoking with the band does not mean you are not seriously harming yourself.

You can hide the smoking from your doctor, but it is only your loss.... why start on this journey cheating????

  7. I hit a wall at one lander. . After a year I started gaining. I just got back on track in July and am back at my wall just before one lander again...

What seems to be helping is to mix it up. Trick my body by eating more calories (1200) a day for a couple days, then drop right down to 800 or 900 for a day or two. Once every other week I even do the all liquid pre-op thing. That gets a pound or two results.

The process is a little slow but it seems to be the only thing working for me.

    Best of luck.
