  1. I am with u girl.............I was banded almost 2 1/2 yrs ago . I ve enjoyed much sucess with looseing 104 lbs but now I ve gained 8lbs of thoes lbs back. Its my fault I am sure I LOVE ICE CREAM and soft foods that go down easy so I ve been eating around my band. I ve also gotten away from weighing my 4 oz a serveings.I ve let myself and my gaurd down and been entirely too easy on myself. We both know this is a marathon NOT a sprint. So I picking myself up I attended my first support grp meeeting for banders last nite . I ve never been much of a support grp person so i never took andvantage of this service that has always been available to me. I t felt good just to verbally tell the grp of my struggles. I ve made an appointment for Monday with my Dr and I ll go tell him" how I lost My mind " and get another fill. I havent had one in about 3 months. Even after all this time I am NOT in control EVER and need to use MY TOOl. So, I invite you to do the same its been eight months for u I read, don't be ashamed just hold your head high you and I are learning everyday and thats ok...................we know what to do.Good luck girl we are both in a good place we know how to take back our lives !

  2. Three months after my lap band I ended up in emergency room with extreme pain.

I had pancreitis also they said a stone got loose from my bad gall bladder. They had me on nothing my mouth for 2 days before surgery. They had to clear the infection before the gall bladder could be removed. My Lapband surgeon preformed the surgery using the same incision made during lapband. Everything turned out great no other problems. Some times gall bladders go bad with extreme dieting not uncommon with lap banders.

  3. I feel your pain, I was banded in 2009 I ve lost 104 but find myself stuck there with my final goal just 20 lbs away. I am finding myself alot of times eating around my band, its just me chooseing Soups, too much yogart ,sugar free cool whip and sugar free ice cream. My dr reminds me when I show up with a few extra lbs and he is right. I must focus of eating whole foods primarily protien but still only 4 oz@ each meal. We are only visually fooling ourselves with the notion of eating around the band get us more. Its false it seems like more but actually the full sensation will not last long and then the picking and snacking starts and thus not useing our TOOL correctly. I hope my confession helps you I feel better when I am more honest with myself........................keep it SOLID my new motto

Lapbanding is great if you have a full undertanding that it is not a magic pill. Its your tool to freedom from obesity.YOU are the most important factor in its sucess. You must committ to the RULES eating prescribed amounts of food and starting a exercise program that gets you moving in some way shape or form. I too have multiple problems with my spine so I started with just walking a mile in a pool to gain strenght and mobility. Its amazeing what this activity did for me. I ve graduated from the pool now and walk anywhere I want to now at least 10 miles per week. It feels WONDERFUL !.If your searching for a easy way to obesity freedom its not without 99% sustained effort on your part. Good luck with your decision !

  5. Welcome back and congrats on two fronts that beautiful baby girl ! and your re entry to banding . You can do this thing starting fresh with a great attitude will be the key to sucess !

    Hello All!

I was banded in November of 2008 and lost 70 pounds!! :) Last year I let myself start gaining the weight back and then got pregnant in August. While I was pregnant I had all of the Fluid taken out of my band and am now back to almost my pre-surgery weight. I have a beautiful baby girl now and I'm ready to get my weight loss journey back on track! I have an appointment next Tuesday with a new doctor! I am excited and nervous to start this all over again! I look forward to becoming an active member of this forum.. Hope you all have a blessed day!!

  6. Glad to hear that you are doing so well after surgery. I can tell its wonderful for you because you can't wai !t for that reunion ! I ran into someone from my childhood last weekend I said Hi gave him a hugg and he said he did'nt know who I was .........he said the face was somewhat familiar but the body was not what he remembered at all. So my advice be careful old friends might know who you are ! Have a super time ! :D

Well almost 4 weeks out and recovering nicely. Still swollen, but not as bad as I had planned. I still get worn out easily and I havent taken pain medicine (including tylenol) in over a week. scar is healing nicely and luckily I had no stitches to contend with. I would say that in the beginning after the first 3 days the pain starts decreasing by half everyday. Worst part is coughing and sneezing (luckily I was two weeks out the first time I sneezed post op). I go to the Dr. Friday and then should be back at work on Monday.

It has been great going shopping and not looking for shirts that are long enough to cover my belly. I treated myself to buckle a few weeks ago and it was sooo much fun trying on clothes I never thought I would be able to wear. My 20 year reunion is this weekend and I cannot wait!!!

Hope everyone is well! Gonna get my hubby to take after picks tonight.

    =)

  7. I eat healthy with just one rule 4 oz each meal ,I never count calories anymore

So....i've been curious. What is a normal calorie range for a bandee? I'm 5wks out and eat roughly 1200 to 1300 cals. But i'm not sure qhat the correct range is. I was doing about 800 on liquids but more on solids now. What is normal?

  8. Yeah, may consider another weightloss gimmick because the gimmick that is attached to my stomach is frustrating the heck out of me right now and I need/hope something will give it a kick start.....my "dieting" sure isn't working for me right now because my 1,100 calories a day is leaving me hungry...not head hungry...stomach hungry.
