  1. Oh my!

I have been lapbanded a long time ago. My husband is so happy that he is not someone that I can rely on. He is great for everything but the band,

He brings in things, and I throw it out. You have to see my freezer, I give away the things that I can and the rest goes down the drain.

I have learnt my lesson and for me we do not repeat eat at the same table. Now,, I am on a low carb so when I have to be with him I suck salad.

He can take my good healthy shakes and it has been updated for him by him and it probably is thousands of calories.

I have to stop writing since this is a sensitive point for me.

My way is seperate eating and when out with friends, do not sit next to him

  2. I changed Laband doctors and this one requires Low Carb! I have had to give up the aguava nector. Now I use Stevia and enjoy it. truvia is great also

I try not to use Splenda since I leave that source for items that already have it. I am very very nervous using Splenda since I am not comfortable about the way it was licensed

If I am out with friends well Sweet and Low with ice tea is a comfort food.

  3. Please call your doctor, If you get the service he/she will call you back. I would not be scared but it could be a reaction to something.

    PLease call now

I have a heart murmor and forgot about it till I was in my forties. Now, I am careful

I think your murmor is your heart thanking you for getting banded.

Are you having the correct amount of H2O

call the doctor and enjoy the awards tonight...I am looking for the dress that I will wear when I get to my healthy ideal weight

    laura

  4. I have been off the boards... I was negotiating a job using my new license. Well, they finally made me an offer so I told my friends and did cry. I was sooooooo happy.

I needed to see one person but the offer stood and I went to the chains office and the manager said that I could not be hired. OMG, I stood quite and then said that corporate politics is silly and that I am an excellent accountant but a really great tax preparer, SO I CALL the husband away from the office and he was in shock.

I went home and then called the person whom I spoke to all week and he was not in. The next morning I call my contact...group leader who was in SHOCK... so he gets the owner out of a meeting and said they will bring my case up at two. Well, two days later and he said he would call...I am still out of work,,,

I am sick that someones word is not worth anything...I had an offer...and ugh...well, the final interviewer wanted info on my neighbor and I refused to tell her. It is none of her business. So I am very sad but my DS is having a party here this weekend so there is no time to be sad. the sad part is that his party was limited by us (his parents) and some of these stinkers were mad that we were limiting the amount of high schoolers..so they went to someone else home (a mansion) my home would be their outhouse..lol... and these kids expect loads of kids otherwise they banish the other friends

SO now the pressure is on me..to have the nice kids who are OK with a parent limiting the amount of kids in ones home.

    Help me god....

Kate...As it goes with your friends dingy girlfriend....what happened in Haiti was more than a disaster but it shows that no matter your race or religion good people band together and help. As for us, we do donate and pay dues but for the grace of god... it is nice to see that others feel for others...I DID HAVE A FRIEND till she gave us hell for helping the Haitians...she claimed that she pays her taxes and that was enough... well, I told her if you do not want to send money or offer your services then at least take some cans out of the pantry and put in the boxes where the kids were (son did that)

SHE IS NOT MY FRIEND because her comment is not allowed on this board

    have a great day

  5. Cool, let me know how it works out for you, my friends and I love that stuff. I know at first it seems pricey but once you calculate it out per day and per meal and winds up being cheaper.

:bored::angry:to costly...there are other little items but must really take a tour of your local supermarkets... I found this unreal baby food of pears.....omg delicious...stage 3 and i just add cinamin........i buy little hummas at 60 calories....get those at costco....SEARCH and you will find:wink2::unsure::wink2:

  6. Most seeds and nuts are good for you. Their calories can add up fast but added to lean meats and veggies and a little fruit they help balance out the diet. Good fats like olive oil and sunflower oil are good for your brain as well as your heart. They can help control appetite. They usually have very complex carbs which break down slowly in the system so do not raise glycemic levels and frequently have some Protein in them as well.

They work great as a between meals snack or as a small meal.

    Cheri

    :unsure::thumbup::bored:

Thanks.... I love cashews but that doctor stressed sunflower. I think that when I GO shopping will make some sunflower nut butter....... you can add cocoa powder and stevia or ahava nector.....

  7. I do lean meats, and other than frying them in olive oil Pam, I don't eat any other fats. A little Promise margarine and lemon juice with a touch of seasoned salt and garlic on my veggies, which I don't eat large quantities of. Most fat comes with your carbs which is why they stick to you. Fortunately, I can easily live without bread, potatos, Pasta, or rice. None of them tastes good without something fatty on them, anyway. Some of those make me pb and some of them slide way too easily so its way to easy to eat a lot of them. Especially if I eat those lean Proteins first the Protein stops the carb cravings. Cookies, cakes, candy, pastry. I just want to pig out on so I know I can't have those except for an occasional treat because they really trigger cravings.

As long as I stick with mostly lean proteins I don't have to weigh, measure, or count anything. I don't have to write meal plans. food is simple, easy to fix, doesn't require shopping for a lot of ingredients or having to follow recipes, which I hate. Just lean meats and some veggies. I supplement them with Atkins protein drinks which I love.

For lunch I frequently have one of those peel top cans of tuna or chicken, 3 oz. Don't have much time for lunch so that works well. I also will have a teaspoonful of dried lightly salted sunflower seeds throughout the day. Protein Shake for breakfast. Decaf coffee with lots of 1% milk and splenda throughout day and evening. Continuous supply of milk and seeds gives me good fats and protein, and such complex carbs that they don't raise the glycemic index, so don't store any bad fats.

Could you please elaborate about the sunflower seeds? I was at a XMAS party and there was a Doctor who swore that other cultures live on sunflower oil and that I should add it to my diet......but being so busy right now have not ggogled it.....

That doctor was very interesting and well ..very well..read ... and I was warned but others that he was a walking book

WHEN I finally read up on what he told me. I am expecting..it to be so interesting...it will probaby take me days

    tia

  8. I was taking the meds twice a day for the acid reflux. My prescriptions the insurance stopped my coverage and over the counter was very expensive but did it.........then,,,,,,

my MIL was in the hospital and her kidney enzymes where dangerous level... and they took her off the Prilisac well....I decided that I WOULD TRY SOMETHING NEW

NOW>>>>>>>I take 2 ounces of Aloe Vera juice in the morning and just before bedtime........and it seems to help

  9. When I was on the richard Simmons site, (3yrs ago) a woman wound up telling Walmart that she could not stand and they changed her hours.

As for you,,,,,,,,,,since, you had the surgery and had a doctors note......OPEN your mouth and tell them that you are not ready to pack and if not you will call the Dept of Labor

YOU GOT the banding and now you must repeat MUSt open the mouth...if you feel speaking to your boss is risky,,,no way,,,you taking the first step to a new life..banded..and it is worth the fight

    good luck

  10. Charlene and Cherielynne-thanks to you both....it was great getting a quick reply to make me feel welcome. I'm back and will stay on the boards as much as possible. I'm trying not starve or make myself nuts with my food journal- I have a habit of becoming obsessive with it and then throwing in the towel because it takes too much time. I'm going back to some of my old South Beach diet recipes. I did well on it but as we all know....it didn't stick. But the basic foods were good and healthy. This time I don't want the word DIET to creep in and make me crazy (crazier- LOL).

    Thanks for your encouragement!

I am struggling also...last night my stupid husband brought home rugalach

  11. we are walking around here in NYS with no coats on....no joke

and SOMEONE HAS SNOW in NEW MEXICO

    wth....omg........

As for a tutor for Macey is fine?

But the high school and the local colleges sometimes will send you a student who needs the credits (in my area it is called public service)

also...on your school site they have links to some really cool sites.........and you should ask her teachers if she can have a class homework buddy........believe it or not,,,my DS was one............and our local library tutors for free...

  12. All Homeless :) today I go and enroll dd in her new school. She is so excited and I am so nervous. Since she has an August b-day she is still behind in her class. Most of her classmates are 7 or turning 7 soon and she wont be 7 until August. She is passing but it is just squeaking by. I will talk to her teacher about my concerns. :)

Maybe I should hold her back...or just trust the school to do what needs to be done?!

    []

MY DS is the oldest in his class and I had people bullying him so age is not the factor,,, thank god, he is fine now in a different school.

    key is different school.

I would have the school check why she is behind academically (that is what you are writing). She may just need some school tutoring thru homework help. A lot of times it is that they are doing their homework wrong (the approach). Mine did his wrong and now...help me.. he does it and it is done, correctly. Thinking back mine would not do his work quickly and pondered over it...they found out he was a perfectionist (which he still is..ugh) but had to LEARN to just DO IT!!!!!!

Writing this now, reminds me of that time..which I have forgotten...will remind DS when he comes home from school and wanna know if he remembers how he drove everyone crazy.

My DS is ten years older than your DD wait till she is his age...omg

Have got to coordinate my old clothes and see what I have been saving.

Been very quiet on the boards...praying for a job, that I took an exam for.....OMG!! Think the person is lying to me...want the position locally and think they are trying to give me this seasonal postion over an hour away.

I know this sounds nuts... but need to be close to home..for MIL (who is doing fine..but needs help at times and it makes her feel better that we are around f0r her...DS, knows my eyes are there and DH who ya never know...me, locally feels like I AM NOT WORKING AND AM LESS STRESSED OUT

this area one in four are out of work and this is NY)

    Gotta go...

Have a fun and blessed day

BTW.....You know me with my coupons, well one of the checkers at our local supermarket went home during college break. May he rest in peace, never returned home. Really nice college student and he was so nice..the whole store was crying...

May the other victims of the Disaster in Haiti rest in PEACE!

  13. Is anyone watching the Biggest Loser? WTH, Bob?!?!?!?! He just turned Jillian into the bad guy AGAIN! Dangit...all she did is tell that girl what she needed to hear. UGH!! He makes me sick. One of these days Jillian is gonna kick his butt.

Ok, sorry, I just had to vent a little.

Last night Jillian asked Bob what to do because that girl (m....something was going to bolt). Bob told Jillian to take the risk.

I do not think that there is a conflict between Bob and Jillian. The only thing that I see is Jillian IS selling products using here name.

MY DH watched the show AGAIN with me last night......there is a god!!!

    As for everyone...

Suzie.... STOP being such a sweet heart and tell your sister and her family that they can NOT use you. PLUS,,I would tell them that there craziness is making you FAT>

Did you ever think that they are using your good nature and hurting you instead..

I had a family member try to break up my marriage...they made a full time job of it... no joke...had to cut themoff completely, due to the financial and mental torment that they did to us...very hard to to but it was worth it to have a :w00t:family.

  14. I am able to snack on string cheese and beef Jerky, but I craved something like peanuts for the crunch. I found a great alternive (for my taste anyway). I buy a pound of Roasted and Salted Soynuts:( serving 1/3 cup, fat 7g,

Carbs 9g, Protein 11g, and just because I know someone will ask, it's 50mg of sodium.) I then dump them into a large zip bag and shake in about 2 tablespoons of Mrs. Dash's, Fiesta Lime. I let that all sit overnight and then bag 1/3 cup servings into the snack size bags. They are then ready to grab when I want a snack.

I use cashews because they are the softness of the nuts

at times I have left out some no sugar added cherios type and mix with nuts and some mini chocolate chips:thumbup:

  15. Let me catch up quickly.............

New Years with sons friends worked out

All my friends are in a crisis mood...... so I am a person without a head...lol

Tracy.........congratrs on your new home...viewed your pictures....gorgeous.....as for the kitchen cabinets...more is better,,,I wish I had so many..we use our extra room as a closet

I never thought of tiling the bedroom floor...previous owner could have had asthma.....since I have controlled asthma lets switch homes....seriously, tiled floor is a good thing especially if bedroom is insulated :0)

Jen.....my neice is in college there,,,,,just bring some northern clothes aka coats...enjoy

Everyone else.......lets pray for everyone who is not well

OMG...forgot to tell you all.....got my HUSBAND to watch the new season of biggest loser...he watched week one and snored thru week 2.......gotta love him

I hope all is well, son will be home soon

I have decided to go thru my clothes and pass on excess clothes

    have a great day

  16. If you are hungry all the time...my suggestion is.........

add Protein to the Water you are sipping all day

I did that because I was so so so scared that I would get sick ..... I used powered skim milk and it really worked for me

why....I knew that i was constantly adding protein to my body and it had nature sugar in it and did not have the scared feeling of maybe fasting

  18. That's wild, It's the first time I heard of a Doctor saying no carbs. I know they all say low but no carbs is harsh. Maybe he meant no white carbs, because vegs and cheese have carbs and your still in the healing stage. Give it a little time and maybe he'll ease up. And I can't get over the no fruit. I'm with you, When I was at your stage banana's saved me. Anyhow good luck:smile:

    ;):thumbup:I agree:thumbup::thumbup:

  19. I hope that you all had a wonderful holiday:thumbup::thumbup:

    Here goes....

    DS has cleaned his room......thank god (a miracle...there is a floor :thumbup::scared2::thumbup:

We had his friends over for a sleepover

New Years he is having a sleepover and I am shopping like a nut for nice things to spice up our home for him :drool::drool:

Christmas stuff is half off..so I have found lovely garlans with gold and silver to put around our home...I bought plastic champagne glasses for their non alchol drinks (which I had on coupon and purchased last week before I knew we had this party) and loads of plastic silverware....lol..kids throw out the real stuff by mistake:ohmy::ohmy::ohmy:

This EVENING we will take our son into the city..I am afraid for him to go himself and he will spend the week there till the crew comes to our home for New Years

So, I have to start the cooking.... dinner..making turkey with fresh cornbread stuffing, fresh cranberry sauce etc etc...these kids can eat....and at new years eve ...gottta gottttttttttta think of hor derves and loads of finger food

must go to the farmer in New Jersey for loads of fruit....and will make a tray for them...I scatter those little umbrellas on them blah blah blah

and waffles and muffins for Breakfast or briuch and then we will drive some to the next guest home and pick ours up on Sunday....lol

I was crazed last night and had to put something on...grabbed this blue thing that DH brought up from laundry room and :thumbup:it is either a mans or womand heavy long sleeve fleece shirt... said nice..and not thinking put it on and it is sort of roomy....OMG...so put it on...and now will not take off.....it has room in it....poor DH had him read the label..and it said XL in the inside...so, I went to bed with it and will not remove..even DS asked are you OK...I never wear my outfits to bed and during the next day but it is an XL.... I guess..I will remove when cooking...or my DH is laughing so..because he is waiting for me to take it into the shower..lol

Since, I am not able to purchase new clothes now..I might go to a store next week just to try on clothes...for the size thing

    :wub::wub::wub::wub::wub::wub:

The greatest thing .. my crocheting thing is blossoming into something great... a person I know, who helps an orphange in Poland, every Christmas...well, after Christmas, I received an email and she really thinks my idea of making the kids things would be great BUT she has taken it a step further by making blankets for the parents who are poor and leave their kids at the orphange...so I can not tell you how excited I am about this....and next week via the internet...hopefully next year they will be bringing the families and kids loads of blankets, sweaters, etc.....SO SO SO SO SO SO EXCITED In the past we all contributed money for party bags of toys and candy etc. THe girls are twins from Poland and they give back...and it is a nice thing :0)

    New Years Resolution.......gotta exercise......:blush::blush:

    Have a Happy Day!!!!!!
