Weight Watchers Online: Support Thread
jollygreen1955 replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
If the person who is doing my backyard did not tell me this I would NEVER have believed it or posted it. He said that his mom had the lapband and she is around 10 years older than me. He said that it took her over a year before the weight just fell off her. He said that he has an extremely slow metabolism as does his mom. But she did the WW thing and says she got her act together. IN OTHER WORDS... what ever she did...did not work.. till she went back to WW with her banding. :sneaky: :sneaky:  :wink2: WW is :sneaky: :sneaky: :sneaky: -

My friends handyman just came to my home and wil fix my backyard...yes...and he just has to make some minor changes. I will be able to walk around my back yard instead of the grocery (the reason that I do not walk up and down the street is safety aka walking by myself) but I have asthma and if in trouble the cellphones DO NOT work in my neighborhood but backyard feel safer. So those things that you never get to do will be done. Also, it is new eyes looking at the situation. I wish my friends had told me what he did. So, not only will he fix the backyard...... I will have a wonderful place to walk. And he told the family how we can add with some lumber a prettty sitting area...so excited. :sneaky: Exercise today- running up and dowm the stairs to answer everyones questions and just when I collapsed to relax...mom come outside and see this and them mom...so I am relaxing till they all come back...lol. I will get plenty of exercise when I will have top soil delivered (for free) but will have to level the backyard :0 thanks for listening really excited because he is not expensive and has unreal credentials worked with friends husband and did friends home small miracle that I got him and I can actually afford it -

Why You Shouldn't Eat Salad
jollygreen1955 replied to Dr. Duc Vuong's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I know the Doctor is RIGHT, There is no nutrition only ruffage in the silly iceberg lettuce. If you eat that type of lettuce you are straining the band becasue you stomach is stretching for the lettuce, But to all you Weight Watchers people know it takes 20 mins for the food to register,,we are banded..so 20 minutes is still 20 min. We all know when we are hungry how satisfying,,,the shake is cmpared to food,,,...absorption :blushing::ohmy::tt1::sad: To the Doctor- Would Fiber powder added in Food ruin the band? Thank you- Laura :w00t::w00t::tt2::w00t::w00t::w00t::w00t: -
Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

I thought that ever banded had a pre-op diet? -
Corlis- I did place the order for the fake sugar and while on the site, I ordered the chocolate chips for my husband. That site also had Stevia hot chocolate which might be a fabulous for my husband who has a very heavy hand. Also, they had a low carb mix, and the powdered Peanut Butter would be great for my yogart and bought some stuff. For my lapband they told us not to have alot of carbs at the beginiing but I really prefer to eat Proteins and do eat some veggies as needed. I am really careful not to stretch the stomach and then have to have a fill. Also, since I always gained weight after age 20, I do eat carbs but try to limit it because it might be a medical thing that I do not know about yet. Because my life is nuts I break the meals up and never eat large portions. I find that it works for me. I never ever was able to eat a big meal even before lapband. So this lapband is a blessing for me because I eat and lose and but just follow what the doctor says and will wait and see. The old ww diet before the points they had a range in which you could eat your breads. I always took the high range number because I do love bread. Now, I just want to get rid of the weight so use the weight watchers diet and get my carbs form some of my veggies aka eggplant. Ms. True Diva- I am sorry for your loss. I will have to read these pages without doing a hundred things at one time. I hope that you can find a why to stay on track. Ms. Jolly Green who is not Jolly with your news. :blushing: -
Corlis- Thank you for your reply. I will make it your way AFTER I order the sugar online. I would love your sugarless cheesecake. What is the yog butter? When I bake I replace the fat with yogart aka solid chocolate...that is why I will make it first. Thanks for quick response Jolly

That looks yummy...I use Stevia also...but I would add the stevia once the mixture is off the stove..then I would put into a cold glass bowl..stevia must be used under 325 degrees. I married peanut boy...so this will definitely be an addition in my home Thanks for the post and sharing -

If you look on the internet they have plenty of recipes for eggplant. After surgery all i wanted was dip..do not know why? Eggplant Dip Prick the eggplant with a fork all over, and bake at 350 till it gets mushy. When cooled down, remove (peel by hand) the skin. I remove the seeds (even before the surgery). Put it in a food processor until it has the consistancy that you can eat. I add apple cider vinager at the last pulse of the processor. I have also mixed thin sliced fresh scallons once in the bowl. The bright pieces are lovely but I can not eat it. Some people add hard eggs but it tastes better to me without it. Some folks add red pepper. Sephardic Spanish Dip (recipe updated to easy ways but passed on thru my friends grandmother) One box of frozen spinach..defrosted and then excess Water removed In Cussinart add one or two shallots, pulse then add a couple of hard boiled eggs, pulse then add the spinach. pulse and add some mayo if you need it moist or plain olive oil then check for any spices that you might want aka salt and pepper if you like it that way put in frig to get cold and yum away Greek Yogart Dip Plain yogart that is mixed with chopped garlic, diced parsley or dill (depending on what you like ) me dill and then fresh lemon juice....mix well...leave in frig overnight and the longer it stays in frig the deeper the garlic taste..yum yum drooling as I am writing this chocolate dip or pudding..the same portion of plain yogart then ad one scoop of powdered Protein shake blend by hand very well then eat...eat..or one of your kids will finish it happily for you After the surgery to make my life easier..I used vegetable baby food...small portion and then added seasoning..very yummy Carrots once steamed or boiled in water mash or put into a processor at this time a magic bullet would be great..cvs has a clone that is cheap you can then add cinnamin or some brown sugar, or stevia, or splenda or diet maple sryup or any package flavoring. Lobster Sauce with veggies If you love the shrimp with lobster sauce you will love this  and easy and cheap Go to your favorite chinese restaurant and ask for lobster sauce they will sell it to you and it has the carrots and green Beans already in it, you can add more veggie that you have cooked soft if you want more BUT when you reheat.. you must reheat at a very low heat or else it seperates. drooling...yum yum You will have plenty of extra ...so you can save for over soft fish or give the rest to your DH who is drooling.. let him have the rice...I do not get the rice but do what you want My favorite restaurant (can be takeout) puts some egg in it. yum yum yum yum yum yum this is an excellent when you are going crazy. I cook the veggies in V-8 and then eat. You can also add herbs if needed  Yummy sauce for veggies ketchup some soy sauce (I use liquid aminos that I get at the health food store) some minced ginger or liquid (which I get at health food store) Add to small pan and heat...the flavors will blend...it is wonderful Enjoy :w00t: If it is Yummy it is in my tummy -
i have used allrecipes dot com and they are free and great. Not one of you have mentioned that there are plastic bags to line the crock pots and when the family is feed..store the leftovers and dump the liner...love it.

I have been adding califlower to husbands potatoes for years. If you tell him...then he will hate it...but if he asks whats wrong...tell him it is probably the soup or the fact that you have to make it loose ...works lol
