    To Tell Or Not To Tell

    I have been banded for 2 years and 7 months. The only people that know are my parents and in laws and my husband who is also banded. Best choice EVER! You will go through many ups and downs with your band and the worse thing my one banded friend ever dealt with was the horrible feeling when she gained weight back. Her "friends" really looked down at her, it was super bad. The problem is that none of your non banded friends will EVER get it, will EVER understand. You can gain weight with the band. Bad habits, no working out, too much wine and ice cream and you are screwed. Dont tell. Thats just my 2 cents.

    OK well I dont even remember if I told you guys but had to quit WW due to a cash flow issue so I am doing it on my own now. Here is the problem......my accountability is gone! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh! I really miss it! My hubbie wound up in the hospital a while and is still out on medical leave (we are going on 8 weeks now) hence the cash flow issue. So along with running back and forth from the hospital I had been taking care of everyone but me. So I got on my elliptical today and got 5 miles in! Felt great! I have not weighed in 2 weeks but have now lost the weight I gained while he was in the hospital because I was eating fast food and crap really because I was so busy. Things are mellowing out in my life now and Id like to loose some more before I got to a family reunion on July 12th so anyone feel like doing a weekly weigh in with me for a few weeks to help me get back on track?

    Hi Margaret, I hear you! It's been a really emotional last 2 weeks for me. I had to give up my ww membership to try to save some cash as we have a family issue right now. I have not weighed in since 3-31-12 .... 3 weeks ago tomorrow UGG! I told my friend who is doing ww with me that I would weigh on my scale tomorrow morning and email her my weight. She is super supportive (not banded and does not know I have one) but is trying to loose as well. I am scared silly about tomorrow morning as I am sure to be up. I have not been able to journal, just rushing around with ZERO time for ME. I have not even broken a sweat! And as I write this I am more down. RATS!

    Hi Jackie, You get points based on your height weight and sex. I am 5'10 weigh 185 am female and get 29 points. My husband is 6'3 weighs 245 male and gets 51 points. Crazy difference eh? It does not matter if you are banded or not, still the same system. I have never told anyone at ww about my band, I hear they don't love medical intervention of any kind so I keep it to myself. I have been doing super bad the past few weeks. Last Sat I did not go weigh in at ww but weighed at home and gained a pound. I was hoping to weigh in this Sat but looks like my schedule wont allow it. I am thinking about stopping my membership for a while and saving some money. I have lost 22 pounds with WW so maybe I am back on track enough? Not sure yet ... still deciding. Right now I am stuck on a banana and think I just need to go pb and get the dam thing out.

    Hey! Well didnt got to weigh in last Saturday because of a family member in the hospital. I did weigh at home however and I gained a 1/2 a pound. Does not surprise me as I had a bad week. Anyway this is another week and I am kind of back on track. Need to start tracking again.

    Ya I dont really get that part. We get 49 extra points a week to eat? So I could have 7 extra points a day or 49 during the whole week?

    Good job ladies! I had a super bad food day yesterday So ashamed of myself this morning for the bad food and candy binge I totally fell off the wagon My 6 year old is on spring break and I took him to the movies and out to lunch and dinner I was planning on staying on track but this morning after I finished writing it all down .... GULP .... UGGGGGG! I am allowed 29 points a day and yesterday I stopped counting at 55 .... I know I know, I am a ****! So today to make up for my bad day do I cut my points in half or what? I am getting ready to work out right now, going to get on my elliptical and ride for well over an hour!

    Hi!! I did the same thing my first 2 weeks on ww were over 5 pounds then it slowed down to 1 to 3 a week, slow but sure wins the race! GREAT job!

    Can we start posting what we eat again? I found that so helpfull....here is my yesterday.... Breakfast: Chobanni no fat greek yogurt & 1/2 cup raw oatmeal Lunch: 7oz lean pork Elliptical ... 1 hour 4.65 miles / 715 cal Snack: 30g protein shake Dinner: Cup whole wheat pasta & home made tomato and red bell pepper sauce Snack: apple Desert: healthy choice fudge bar 28 points (I get 29 a day)

    Nancy & Terri, Hey! You have lost weight! Dont say "Oh I only lost __ pounds" say "I lost __ pounds! Whoo Hooo and I am proud of myself!" The glass has to be half full, I know it's hard at times. I have done a lot of sitting on my pitty potty. But today is a new day and you can do it. I did not loose fast. I have been banded 2 years and 5 months now and I am still on the journey. Without my band I would have gained all my weight back by now and then some. I love my band! It keeps me sane when I want to binge I CANT! I can do it, this week I will have a good food week, I will not diet. I will eat to live not live to eat. I will work out so my heart is healthy for myself and my family! I am so lucky, I love my life....this is going to be a good week. Oh and PS... I weighed in at ww last Saturday and I lost 2 pounds! Yahooo for me

    Welcome to the WW thread! WW is great, I have been loving the extra accountability it has given me. When you say your doc is not good at fills, what do you mean exactly? You have a band and it's a great tool when it's filled like it should be. I am lucky to have found my sweet spot with my band now, it's not impossible to find the right amount of fill thats right for you. How about changing your doc?

    I dont subtract points if I throw something up. I figure it will just help me out in the long run because I probably eat more more points a day than I think, even though I try to be accurate. How many points do you all get a day? I get 30 Last week I had a good loss (14 total gone since starting ww) but this week I have eating strangely. So much other stuff has been going on food has gotten away from me. I just hope I have not gained. (I go weigh in on Saturday mornings) so I have one full day left.

    Sorry it took me a while to see your? When i eat super slow and chew well i can eat more sometimes. It depends on the day i even think the weather effects my band sensitivity. I know i am full when my pouch is full not my tummy. Sometimes i am still tummy hungry but pouch full so i have to stop or ill get stuck or have to pb a bit

    OK you guys need some filling up! I have a 10 cc band and have 8.5 in it now and am feeling good and tight! FINALLY! It took me too long to get to this point, my doc also fills slow but I finally told him what to do and he did it. I just had to be specific. I was playing his game for a long while thinking he knew best, well he did not I did and I was right! It's my body and I know it! Now I can not eat a whole slice of pizza, it's perfect! I can still have pizza but like a 1/2 a slice and I am happy I can actually eat anything, bread, pasta, rice I just cant eat a lot of it. Thank GOD for my band I'd be 300 pounds again without it! My next ww weigh in is this Saturday, I had a 1 pound gain last week so I am trying extra hard food wise this week. I am not back at the gym yet because I still dont feel good, my cold/flu is lasting way too long now.

    Well after loosing so much so fast I suppose it is only fitting that I sucked at this last weigh in. I gained a pound booo hooo! I have no flippin idea what I did wrong because I ate well, I think it might have something to do with not exercising as much and not feeling good. Still feeling sick, bad cold and fever so no working out for me just yet. My food weekend sucked too, I dont know about you guys but when you feel lousy food is extra hard, unless I have a flu and am sick to my tummy a lot. Soooooooo this week I have today till Saturday morning to at least loose the pound I gained. I have no big goals this week, just need to feel better first so I can get back to the gym.

    Hey! Well tomorrow is another weigh in for me, so far I have lost 11.6 pounds in 2weeks at ww! WHooooHoooo! Today: Breakfast: Tea & no fat milk then a protein shake Snack: 3 egg whites Lunch: Slice of whole wheat toast with tablespoon of peanut butter on it! Snack: banana Dinner: Will be a slice of cheese pizza and a salad

    Hi Stagegirl! I was self pay also! I got to 189 and then kept that weight for over a year (I was banded 2 years and 2 months ago) then I slowly crept up after getting one fill too many. I was too tight so I ate lots of bad for me sliders. I joined ww at 209! Yikes! But I am back down to 195 thank GOD! WW saved my life, I love the accountability of weighing in every week. This time after I get to 189 I am not gonna stop. I actually just wanna be fit and healthy now, it's no longer about a number on a scale .... GOD It only took me 30 years to get to this place in my head. Now I can so an hour spin class or 5 miles plus on my elliptical and sure I sweat but my heart rate is good and I am not panting and out of breath. It's all about heart health for me now.

    So nimble, when you dont eat all your points you dont loose as fast? I have heard that a few times now. How many points do you get a day and how many do you eat a day? Way to go on loosing! You are doing great! Also maybe you could share one of your food diary's with us, Id love to see what you are eating!

    HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY ww buddies! Just got off my elliptical 60 min 4 1/2 miles 650 cal spent = 14 activity points! No candy for me today I WILL be good!
