  1. I was banded on May 19th and since May 4th when I started my 2 wk pre-op liquid diet I have lost 55.5 lbs... I have lost 43.5 since the surgery plus the 12 lbs I lost pre-op... you will do great... just remember, you may not get much restriction until you have had several fills...so don't get discouraged...

  2. Hey.. your post caught my eye because you stated you saw a Dr. in Grand Prairie.. I went to high school in GP... do you live near/in Grand Prairie??

  3. Good luck Jim! I was banded on May 19th by Dr. Paul Wizman at Northwest Medical Center in Margate. I have lost 43.5 lbs since my surgery and a total of 55.5 since the 2 wks before my surgery when I started the pre-op liquid diet. This is the best thing I could have ever done for my health and my life. Keep in touch and let me know how your surgery goes!!

  4. Thanks Michael. I saw your post on my profile. I was banded on May 19th, 2009. Things have been going very well. The only complication is that my surgeon found a hernia on Wednesday when I went for a fill. He is doing the hernia repair next week and he is going to move my port because my port is close to the hernia... but other then that.. I feel GREAT!! I got your friend request on FB too.. i will be keeping up with you and don't hesitate to email me at untfluter@comcast.net if you have any questions....

  12. Hi Jim... Do I assume correctly by your handle that you are in S. Florida? I am in S. Florida and I was banded on May 19th... if you are in S. Florida, who is your surgeon???

  13. ok.. I got my degree from Univ of North Texas... I always thought I wanted to be a band director.. because of my jr high band director... secondary was also my only choice as a wind player.... so when I did my student teaching, I realized that I was not comfortable on the podium AT ALL.... I wish I had more training in the elementary music pedogogies, etc... I would have loved to have gone in to elementary music. I spent some time teaching privately, working w/some wind sections w/some local high schools and also played in some community bands and orchestras... problem is that I am in south Florida and most of the community groups rehearse during the weekday.. when I can not be there... let's chat more, I'd love to connect w/a fellow musician and flutist... I am on yahoo messenger at bbwfluter or you can email me at untfluter@comcast.net Look forward to hearing from you.
